I really wanted to like this place and it pains me when I have to leave a bad review. I was excited to try this Colombian restaurant in Woodruff. We certainly need more variety and I always want to support a good restaurant that is not a chain. Sadly, my wife and I were so disappointed. We went for lunch on a weekday and the place was almost empty. Very extensive menu, but we were shocked at the prices. Normally, we love to have appetizers, but at these prices (especially for lunch) we skipped the appetizers. I ordered the Churrasco steak. It was bad. Very thin as it should be, but saying it was tough is an understatement. Hard to cut and every bite was like chewing on gum. Literally took a minute of chewing to get down each bite. It came with little tiny deep fried arepas. They were dry, bland, greasy. My steak was almost $30. My wife got the garlic shrimp tilapia which was about $25. It was better than my steak, but still nothing special. I wish I had photos of the food, but forgot to take pics before we ate.
The good: the place itself was very nice. They did a great job of decorating (especially at Halloween) and the place was very clean. Our waitress was friendly and service was decent. My wife's fancy drink was very good too.
But in the end, the food was just not great and especially at these prices. My churrasco steak was nearly inedible and the lunch was very expensive and very disappointing. I have been to Colombia and love the food. We will not be back to Oye Bonita. read more
