Got Curry chicken, pork floss and sesame dressing, smoked salmon and cream cheese onigiri (Japanese rice balls) & miso soup. The Onigiri are the biggest I've ever had & they have innovative as well as classic flavours. They tasted quite fresh though I got them near closing; they were tasty though I didn't taste the sesame in the pork floss & sesame. The miso soup was concentrated & the tofu pieces were bigger & more textured than usual.

    Interior is cozy and clean

Have been longing for the opening of this Japanese origiri rice ball place on Main Street in Newmarket! How refreshing to have Asian food along Main Street where the majority of the restaurants are western pubs/burgers. We came here on a Friday at around 4-5pm, as an early dinner. We didn't want to come any later since the place closes at 7pm and we also wanna make sure the ones we wanted are still available. Upon entering this cute and cozy shop the male owner greeted us politely with a smile. Luckily the three that we wanted to try were available. We ordered a shiitake mushroom, a grilled salmon and a spicy tuna mayo. They ranged from $4-$4.5 each, and there's a buy three get a pop/miso soup for free promo. And we opted to dine in and ordered a pop. They accept credit cards too except Amex. The owner was so nice and offered us free cookies and miso soup as well!! There were around ten tables of 4 including some higher tables that let you sit by the window that looks out on Main Street. Onto the origiri, we both enjoyed the shiitake mushroom very much, flavorful. Despite getting close to end of day, I don't feel that the rice is dry/hard at all. Enough mushroom for every bite. The spicy tuna mayo and grilled salmon were normally decent but not out of the world and same as what you would have expected, I prefer the spicy tuna mayo. grilled salmon has chunk of salmon in the middle and then has some sort of terrakayi sauce, I probably would prefer more salmon and maybe mashed and mixed in with the sauce similar to the tuna mayo. The free cookies that the owner offered also taste legit. Feel home made. Not overly sweet. There's candied ginger, coffee, matcha, and chocolate. All are good. It's a really nice place for some grab and go or light snack/refreshment. Not only do they offer origiri, but also some cookies, pudding etc. great spot for hanging out with friends. The friendliness of the owner made it an even better visit. Will wanna come again to order shiitake mushroom and try out other flavors! FYI All their origiri are cooked except the one with tobiko, which is cured.

I had gone in August of 2024 while on holiday in Canada. Here is my in-depth review as I tried each dish. Omurice was good but I wished there was a bit more ketchup spread evenly. I really enjoyed the spam included in the omurice. Mushrooms were delicious, like it belonged in a pasta. Nicely seasoned and was well balanced with the rice. Miso soup wasn't too salty and the tofu was a good size. Sponge cake was light and not too sweet. it would be paired nicely with a tea. the design is quite cute. My favorite was definitely the pudding. It was very creamy, and the syrup was perfect. The dessert reminded me of a crème brûlée. This is the best pudding I've ever had. I'd come back to this place if I was ever in the area, and was wanting a comforting quick bite. Pork floss and sesame was an interesting one. Pork floss isn't something new to me, and i'm familiar with the taste. What I wasn't expecting was how the sesame oil would change how it would taste. Of course the texture is dry as it is pork floss. Though it is not my taste, I think trying new things makes life worth living. As I kept eating it, I enjoyed it more. The sesame oil is very tasty. I think a brisket and sesame would be amazing. Butter cookies were nice too. The cocoa was buttery with a light chocolate taste and the matcha one wasn't too bitter either. Again paired best with a tea. Though I'm not unfamiliar with onigiri, I usually have trouble trying not to break the seaweed wrap while opening it. the owner had helped me find an easier way to open it without tearing. They have a general menu but they often try to rotate their flavors every day. I would come back here with friends if I'm back in Canada so they could try the onigiri and pudding!

Saw this recently opened onigiri place and it did not disappoint! I tried the Grilled Salmon and Shiitake Mushroom and they were both really good even though I ate them four hours later! The proportion was pretty good too! There was enough filling and you wouldn't feel like you're eating just a bunch of rice. The place looks really cute and clean too. Service was really good! The person who served me took his time to explain the different flavours and was kind enough to give me some free cookies! They were delicious! Everything is made fresh daily! Would definitely come back to try more onigiris or even their cheesecake!

It's a small place and I thought it might be good when I saw several Asian customers. The waitress was rather unenthusiastic. The menu was okay, but missing a few items that other AYCE spots I frequent offer (no Dim Sum for example). The food was average at best (and that's stretching it)... The price was higher than most other places... $41 per person was overpriced in my opinion. That evening both my wife and myself were quite sick... Mild cases of food poisoning. My wife much worse than myself. Obviously ill never go back.

The cooking is generally decent, though the chicken skewer was dry & the udon soup tasteless. The sushi is above average in that the rice is noticeably warm & there's not too much of it, but it falls apart easily & there's not that much fish either. The meal came with a complimentary beef tataki. The sauce was heavier than usual - a bit fruity & quite acidic. It was pretty good. They have unusual dishes like yam fries, spicy miso soup & potato croquettes. They have one of smallest portions for sesame chicken for AYCE sushis, but definitely the largest sushi pizza portion. Dessert was a mixed bag. The sundae was good with crispy cookie crumbs & chocolate sauce. However the fried banana was below average (too soft, with too much artificial banana flavour) & the ice cream had more ice crystals than average.

The girls visited during their lunch break and ordered bento boxes. They had saved their lunch money for several days so they could afford this special treat. When it came time to pay, the waitress placed the receipt directly in their faces and pressured them for tips. Instead of simply explaining tipping etiquette if she felt they were unfamiliar with it, she took the POS machine and manually entered a $5 tip for each girl without their understanding or consent. These are young teenagers, and they felt intimidated and frozen in the moment. They didn't know how to respond. After leaving the restaurant, they were upset, scared, and embarrassed. My daughter told me they felt taken advantage of. What makes this even more disappointing is that the waitress was rude and unfriendly throughout the meal. Aside from bringing their food, there was very little service provided. This restaurant is located in a high school area, and staff should know how to treat young customers with respect. Pressuring minors into tipping and making them feel uncomfortable is completely unacceptable. It felt more like bullying than customer service. We will never return, and I hope management addresses this issue so that other young customers do not have a similar experience.

The restaurant has several menu items for sushi and Korean foods and offers a menu of lunch specials. We ordered: Takoyaki Lunch BBQ salmon Donburi Tonkatsu Curry I enjoyed the Takoyaki. The size of the pieces of octopus was decent. My partner enjoyed the Tonkatsu Curry. The curry sauce came in a separate bowl. The best part of the BBQ Salmon Donburi was the avocado, which they gave a generous serving of avocado. In the Donburi, I thought the sushi rice was underwhelming and bland. The BBQ salmon was over barbecued and sooo dry it could not be saved by the lime aioli and teriyaki sauces. Our friend who ordered the sushi really enjoyed their appetizer. Service: This is the first time I can recall that there is no complimentary green tea offered when dining in at a restaurant offering sushi or Korean food. We asked for water and our friend ordered a beer. At about 15 minutes later, the beer was served. After the food arrived, still no water. We asked for the water again, and four little Chinese tea cups of water (100ml) was served. I don't know if this is standard at this restaurant but it stood out as very unusual in my experience. Plenty of parking right outside the restaurant. The restaurant is at the end of a plaza. There was a sign at the door for a sushi platter special on Wednesdays $49 that looked promising. I wanted to like the restaurant more because the dining in area was very pleasant.
