I am also a contractor, and I knew several of my customers had used Molony Tile over the years and…read morewere very happy with them, so when we built our own house with two tiled bathrooms, I went straight to Moloney. Steve and Woody provided us with friendly professional and well educated service from design to installation of two full bathrooms with tile walls and small format hexagon mosaic floors, including a curbless shower. They provided us the technical details we needed to make sure that everything was framed in correctly, and Steve came out to the site to inspect everything before scheduling the installer to do the work to make sure there would be no surprises. (And it was a good thing he did too, because we has to square up some walls and add some additional framing studs for the shower.) Woody was extremely helpful and patient in guiding our selection of tiles and grout, and they were willing to work with us on including tiles from a local tile manufacturer rather than their regular supply chain. Woody's professional training and sense for the customer's particular esthetic are outstanding! After we discovered that a few of the small mosaic tiles had cracked in them from a manufacturing defect, that got the installer out to replace them quickly and with no grief. Although I had Moloney Tile install the technically difficult bathroom tiles, I am doing several more artsy tile projects in the house on my own, and they had been willing and able to provide me with advice and specialty materials on those as well.

Ever since we've added a four season porch, addition, a sauna and bathroom, several tile platforms next to outside access doors. We are now creating a master bedroom with attached bathroom. Every time we have a tiling project we buy through Molony. We plan to contract with them this time to complete the project rather tgan do it ourselves as we are older. I'm convinced they will do a professional job.

Floor360 - Zoomed lifted seam

Floor360

Summary: I Had a Contract with Floor360 -- Got a Defective Floor & Had to file a Lawsuit…read more I built a new home in 2024, and because I've done this rodeo before, my builder and I agreed I would handle the flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and lighting contracts directly rather than through the builder. I'd had good experiences with Floor360 in my Veridian homes, so I emailed Jen Fickling on Sept 2, 2023 proposing that Floor360 work directly with me. They agreed, and I signed a flooring/tile/installation contract via Dropbox on Jan 17, 2024. That contract contained the provision that "all installations done according to industry trade standards". I selected a premium 9.5" Shaw Expressions white oak floor (~$30K). When Floor360 came to install in February, the HVAC wasn't on and the required 5-day acclimation hadn't happened. Unbeknownst to me, my builder was a chiropractor who had inherited the construction company from his father, and the project manager responsible for site conditions like HVAC was his X-ray technician. To avoid delays, Floor360 and the builder privately agreed the builder would install instead of waiting for Floor360's next opening. The builder had never installed this product, didn't buy all required materials, and Floor360 knew this as well as knowing proper acclimation had not occurred. Unsurprisingly, the floor failed--and only then was I told the installation had been switched, despite promises that Floor360's "most senior crew" would do the work. The installation violated basic manufacturer requirements: no 5-day acclimation (installed mid-winter with no HVAC), fasteners spaced 15-24" instead of 6-8", no end fastening, and no required glue assist. Result: cracked boards, lifted seams, splinters, flared ends, and a wood floor that feels like walking on artisanal cobblestone. Shaw inspected, found 70% of boards damaged, and denied warranty coverage due to improper installation/acclimation. Replacement bids are ~$50K, and I legally have to disclose the defect if I sell. What makes this worse is the secrecy. I emailed the replacement designer, Nichole Abbott, repeatedly asking how installation went (2/14/24, 2/24/24, 3/12/24) yet no answers. When I asked where the leftover product was (4/23/24 & 4/24/24), she vaguely said she'd ask "the installers," leaving out the key detail: Floor360 didn't install it. Floor360 now insists my contract was with the builder, even though the builder contract explicitly allowed direct vendor contracts, Floor360 was paid via my personal funds & construction loan, and they accepted that arrangement in writing. Floor360 subcontracting with my builder to swap installation roles on the down low has nothing to do with their contractual obligation to me. The two people who negotiated the working model (Jen Fickling and Christie Thompson) have since left, and it appears nobody bothered to review the terms before denying responsibility. My attorney says the liability is clear. We've given Floor360 multiple chances to fix this; they haven't. So we filed a lawsuit, which you may follow by searching for them on CCAP. A complaint with DSPS/DATCP is in-process. Floor360: if anything here is inaccurate, reply publicly and I'll correct it immediately. You're also welcome to send corrections to my attorney. My only goal is accuracy and getting an undamaged & fully warranted floor. After reading our contract line by line, do you disagree that a properly installed, fully warranted floor is a reasonable expectation?

He was highly recommended by a close neighbor of ours who has used his services over the years. Couldn't be more pleased. First, the finished job for our 1929 tutor home was equal to or better than the original construction. Matched the aesthetic perfectly. Solved a tricky engineering problem of how to replace rotted beams into the brick. Overall -- Mike was a pleasure to work with throughout the process. Very fair price for the quality, really good at communicating what he was going to do and very efficient in terms of getting started and finishing. We've been in our house since 1989 and have had experience with several additions and smaller construction needs. After our experience with Mike, he the top of our list of one for the next time we need any construction or remodeling.

I contacted Mike, and he came by the same day to perform the replacement. He cut out the old faucet, and "sweated" the copper pipes (new plumbing term I learned) to install the new faucet very quickly, and he cleaned up after himself (though there wasn't much of a mess to begin with). While he was in my basement working on the plumbing, I mentioned that I had a bad light switch/socket. He was happy to take a quick look and diagnose the problem. Whenever I have my next repair need that is a bit out of my comfort zone, I will contact Danzinger Do-it. He was fast, professional, and very reasonably priced.
