I took a dress in and sure enough it must've been a bad day because she basically did not even look at it. It had a bumpy seam in the bottom where from a previous alteration it got sewn up incorrectly. I asked if she could make the seam smoother. She didn't even look. She said return it to the store where you bought it. I said no this is from a previous alteration, I just think that part needs to be resewn. She said take it back to them. I said I don't really want to because they did this in the first place. She said take it to Nordstrom. I said they are better tailors than you? She said, I can't fix, and then started to walk away. Meanwhile, she still had never really even looked at it. Totally insane. How can you have a tailoring business that just says no. It is exactly what happened to my friend when she took some pants to be tailored. Just a super weird no to a normal tailoring job. Meanwhile, not a soul in the store and tons of suits and jackets and shirts. I would assume she would at least be nice to people as a way to draw in business. I was going to ask her if they had a man's tuxedo shirt (I need one for the same event as this dress is for), I wanted to get him a really nice quality one. But after that treatment. The pants not only fit great, both the leather and satin lining seams are very professional-looking. It was very impressive work. She asked him to convert her high-waisted pants to a low-rise style by cutting about 2-3 inches off the top but not to worry about re-using the old snap buttons and hook. On top of it, this was all done long-distance through her parents since we Iive in a different state, but he came so highly recommended. Not only was he able make the style-change, he was also able to salvage the original button snap and hook by lengthening the waistband using the remnants he had cut off from the top of the pants. We were thoroughly impressed by his workmanship, especially since leather and satin are difficult fabrics to work with. We were in town for the holidays and were able to meet Mr. Lee and pick up the pants up in person. Not only is he talented in is craft, he is so hard-working and very personable. He says he can alter anything, but specializes in dresses. She peeked at the hem on one of the dresses he had just finished up and it looked like a store-bought hem!
