This is not your mom's ice cream!. I love this ice cream and get it whenever I can. This past Sunday I was there and had a pumpkin-ale ice cream which was outstanding. My GF had Sweet Potato flavor which was good but not as good as mine. We also took home some chocolate jalapeno. This was very good and had a nice kick to it. I recommend Owowcow (say that 5 times as fast as you can) to everyone as my favorite place to get ice cream. I just wish they would take debit cards. You can use the cash machine outside but it costs you $2 and then you may get hit with fee's from your own bank. Go with CASH! but go quickly....I mean NOW! read more

"OWow" is the perfect name - the staff smilingly says "Cow", after hearing their patron exclaim "O, Wow!" when tasting this amazing ice cream for the first time. I've taken many of my friends here, and even after they were subjected to my unrestrained enthusiastic reviews in advance, their tastebuds were not sufficiently prepared for this heavenly dessert experience. I was told by friends that OWowCow is rated within the top 10 ice creams in the COUNTRY, not only the county. This is hands down the best ice cream I've ever had. Looking back on some of my other reviews of ice cream places, they just can't even compare to OwowCow Creamery now that I've tried them. My hubby and I stopped here on a wimb with a sweet tooth and did not leave disappointed. They have unique flavors so we ended up sampling about 5 different kinds before finally ordering but still had a difficult time because everything was so delicious. OwowCow serves up pretty good 'artisinal' ice cream. About half of their flavors are unusual concoctions such as cilantro-lime or cinnamon bourbon, while the rest are more traditional flavors. Their five small scoops for $5 deal is a good option for sampling a variety of flavors. My wife decided she could probably only eat a small scoop of cilantro-lime anyway. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday with the fam; I've died and gone to fat kid heaven! Hubby and I split a banana split with heavenly flavors, the kids had huge kid portions and we all went home and napped. Wow. This ice cream shop sure lived up to the hype! I realized that we'd be driving past it, so I suggested we stop for a cold treat. It was quickly welcomed on a blazing summer day. We were greeted as we walked in even though there were other customers. The shop is a little warehouse-like in that it's almost minimally furnished, but it's not a negative effect. It gave the shop a more distinct character. There were about three tables and some bar stools (which meant you were seated at the same level as the table) and some couches. The carousel across the parking lot also has some picnic benches, and theres a bench right outside the store. Ordering options are in the wall behind the counter, and the ice cream flavors are neatly (and colorfully) labeled in the case. So many unique flavors! At least three kinds of vanilla alone. This was the first ice cream shop where I actually asked for samples, partly because the woman behind the counter was so friendly, partly because there were so many flavors I wanted to try (in hindsight, we should have ordered the five-flavor sampler option!). She was also very knowledgeable about all the flavors. In the end, I decided on lime cilantro. I also had some lemon ginger and honey lavender. They were all so creamy and good, but I think honey lavender was my least favorite of the three, mainly because it was so sweet. For all three flavors, the first word describes the ice cream, and the second decribes the bits that are in it. Both parts were delicious, but I especially loved the bits because of the flavor contrast they contributed--unlike other ice creams, I never got tired of eating more than a few bites of one flavor. I also loved the little chunks of cream. For the lime cilantro, at first the ice cream tastes sweet and creamy. It's only after you've swallowed the first bite that a subtle (but definite) sourness kicks in. The pricing seems a little expensive until you see the size of the scoops--the kiddie size ($3) was about one-and-a-half generous scoops. But next time, I'm definitely finding someone to share five flavors (for about $5) with! read more

Not a big fan of Owow Cow. My family and I are not into their style of food products. Their foods are generally extremely healthy and for that reason they are also extremely pricey. They have an ice cream bar that offers many different flavors but tends to cater to unusual combination is rather then the classics. And since it is a small mom-and-pop type store the price for the ice cream far outweighs the taste. If healthy is what you're looking for it offers a nice variety of things but if you are cautious of the economics then just a standard grocery store might be more in your price range. read more

In my opinion, this is hands down the best place to get ice cream in the Philadelphia area. To be more specific, I go here when I'm around Bucks County, because it's a bit of a hike right from the city. That being said, you really need to get up here sometime. They're serving up local, seasonal ice cream with unique and interesting flavors. They even have 4 different types of vanilla ice-cream! During my last visit, I tried their seasonal caramel apple ice-cream and their pumpkin spice. For somebody who isn't really into these flavor profiles, I was so impressed. I thought they were the perfect combination of sweetness and spice. No matter what you get, you have to get it on a hand-dipped chocolate waffle cone (which is then dipped in slivered almonds). They have a pretty good variety of ice cream that changes daily. They support local ingredients and for that you pay a little more, but it is worth it. If you are a local, you know about this place already, but if you are from the outside area, I would recommend going and judging for yourself. But if you are a plain chocolate/vanilla person...it's great too. There are usually 3 different "plain" vanillas to choose from, each different due to vanilla bean used. And they have fabulous flavors, such as Mango Habanero, Fresh Sweet Corn (delicious, I swear!), and Caramel Banana. OwowCow. More like o wow, holy cow! I have been eating ice cream here for about 3 years and come to love just how good this sweet treat is made. However I went in today craving a large sweet treat and got blind sided by their new sizes. That's correct, the sizes of their cups have drastically diminished. Remember that large cup and it almost being a meal in itself, well that's gone. This new large looks like a small from anywhere else. This could be considered if their prices dropped with their sizes. Again disappointment, it's 6.85 for a large which I got only 2 scoops of ice cream in. When only a couple of weeks ago 6.85 would have gotten me an ice cream mini meal. The odd thing about all this is that I checked the pint price and it was only a dollar more than the "large" ice cream *cough just two scoops cough*. So a pint is about 7.85 while let's call it what it is, 2 scoops is 6.85. I'm not a math major or anything but this just doesn't seem right. read more

I made it a mission to head to OwowCow Creamery after seeing some of their stuff in Blue Moon Acre Farms. I love that they support and use local ingredients. The flavors are extremely creative - think lavender, cardamom, different vanilla beans, jalapeno, the works. I sampled quite a few, but decided on the Caramel Banana - swirls of real caramel were in it. It was a great hot day pick. Extremely refreshing and tasty! Cute atmosphere. As far as ice cream goes- it's terrific! Enough choices to make your decision hard! I got a Madagascar Vanilla (I'm a serious vanilla fan and it didn't disappoint) and the chocolate salted caramel pecan. Omg. My nephew got blue berry and declared it to be the best ice cream he ever ate. He thought the sweet cream wasn't as flavorful, but still enjoyed it. I would have given it 5 stars except for one thing- you can't see the many flavors until it is your turn to order, since they are on signs placed right in the freezer on each ice cream. This makes for a very slow order process and backs the line of people waiting somewhat needlessly. By simply adding the list of that day's flavors on one or two of the many large chalkboards in the shop, it would be so much quicker! Won't stop me from going back though... read more

Came here as a special treat and it was totally worth it. They offer many different flavors, with some very unique options. I played it safe with Strawberry and I Hate Chocolate. Both were very delicious- there were big chunks of strawberries in the strawberry flavor and the chocolate flavor was a really rich chocolate that was so divine.
