Owlz Pub is a local sports and college bar, conveniently located near Kennesaw State University. When football season starts, you can expect to see the place packed with football fans watching college and professional football on 9 TVs, including one large projection screen, usually featuring the Kennesaw State Owls, UGA Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, or Pittsburgh Steelers. During the afternoon and early evening hours, Owlz is mostly a local spot with the age ranging from about 25-40. At night, it's mostly a college nightspot, with the crowd ranging from 18-30. They do allow smoking inside, so if you don't smoke this isn't your place. They rotate events by day and time, so depending on what day and time you're there, they might be doing karaoke, interstate poker, hosting fraternity and sorority events, open mic night, house DJ and dancing, trivia, live bands, etc. While you're here, you can enjoy daily drink specials in their full bar. If it's a little crowded, you can move to their second bar to get your drink a little faster. Don't worry about bathroom lines - they have 2 bathrooms to help the crowd and 3 private bathrooms if you have a nervous bladder. Feeling hungry? They offer typical pub fare with a few college bar twists - pizza, hot wings, salad, and look out for the burger served with ranch goldfish crackers! Went for a music session, so a slightly different vibe than normal, so I'll focus my review primarily on the food. Again, busy night, SRO, so potentially not the best night for the kitchen, but I'll call it "ok". The burger tasted like a frozen patty tossed on a flat grill where someone forgot even the quickest of a seasoning shake, which applied to the fries as well. We also ordered the chili cheese fries which were a bit more of fries with beans and some meat...the chili was lacking any sauce. Totally edible, just nothing to go back for in regards to food. Let's call it a clean dive bar (and I'm a fan of these!) with happy and efficient bartenders that made the music event fun! read more

Ugh, this place sucks. I don't know if they're having an identity crisis or what but I can't tell if they're aiming for sports bar, dive, or just failing at both. Came in here on a Friday night and it was empty aside from the three sided bar (they have a large billiards area, booths, and tables). There's a completely abandoned/unused bar in the billiards area. A lot of the walls in the place are plywood, including in the bathroom, which is disgusting and the doorknob is broken. Bartender informed they have no beer on tap. Nope, nope, nope. I would avoid if you want anything other than a place to get drunk. read more

Service is great, before 12.00 pm. Terrible servers after midnight. Okay food, the worst bartenders east of the Mississippi. If you want to have a good time don't go here. Trash service to be honest, wouldn't recommend as a late night move. read more

Best college/hangout spot/chill hangout in Kennesaw. Depending on the night of course. When coming to a pub.. don't expect nothing special. Don't be so uptight. Owls will screw you over so fast. They don't care about anyone or anything. I wish I could tell everyone to not go there. Wings are excellent. Wonderful bartender who remembers your name! Certainly a Dive atmosphere but well worth the walk in.

Atmosphere is good but service is bad. Bartenders are inexperienced and overwhelmed with bad customer service. One of the main bartenders is a skinny blonde guy that gets frustrated with lots of orders and can not handle multi-tasking. Has an attitude and not there for customers but for showmanship. When customers get upset, he asks them to close out their tab and leave due to his incompetence. Would not recommend to any visitors, as employees tend to service regulars more and treat outsiders as outcasts. read more
