Terrible management - very poor customer service. Unsure how management could treat customers with such disrespect. Misplaced stress was placed on a non threatening situation which could have been dealt with in a much calmer and hospitable way. The waitress was very nice. However all the management was very aggressive in their communications. Had a 3 month infant in the bar , we were unaware of a law that prohibited infants to enter. Was under the impression this was permitted during daytime hours. The staff came at us aggressively in communication and jolted at us to leave immediately. Felt attacked for no justifiable reason. We were being as cooperative as possible and exit the bar. We were informed by an unnecessary amount of staff- we already agreed to leave when 4 staff member ran outside yelling at us for no apparent reason as we were only trying to pay and leave. The other customers were stunned as well by the level reached to handle the situation. Understand we were to leave but they could have handled it much calmer instead of creating a scene for no reason. The level of aggression toward us was not matched to the level of threat we were apparently exhibiting by having a sleeping infant with us at lunchtime. read more

Worst experience at a bar/pub I've ever had. Had the bartender throw a handful of ice at our table because we were getting "too loud". Not once did a staff member come over and ask us to keep it down. I was sober....and in complete shock that a staff member would think it was okay to treat paying customers like that. Walked in to a sign that said 'seat yourself'. Then found a menu, chose our meals, played Pokemon Go, watched two waitstaff at their pos station chat and look right at us then chat and walk away, then noticed another table came in, sat down and were immediately served. My blood pressure spiked. After complaining loudly that we were here first, we got a lame excuse and our order was finally taken. That took a little more than a half hour. It seems either the waitstaff are poorly trained or they judged us as being poor tippers. Well, my usual tip for average service is about 50%. Turn around time from order to food delivery was another 30 minutes. Fries are cold. Mayo had a crust on it from sitting out too long. Fish was slightly undercooked and one edge of the burger was too rare for me. It was pink in one part of the middle. But the burger was big and tasty. This place is not on my list of places to return to. Too bad, cause the view is great and the decor is cozy. read more

Went here a few times, each time thinking it would get better. I was poured a Budweiser when I asked for a Grasshopper, and the server insisted that the garbage that I was drinking was correct. I ordered the 'OWL Burger' another time, the fries were obviously reheated from days previous, the smoked cheddar looked like it had been left out on the counter all night, and the price was too high for such poor quality. Like the other reviewer, it's just meh. Got the "pub favorite" beef stroganoff. Again, meh. It was cold on the top, warmer in the middle but quite flavorless. Best part was the bread that came with it. My partner got the margherita pizza. The crust was store bought; I'd bet on it. The sauce was bland, Chef Boyardee is better. Only good thing we had was the calamari. The place has potential. Great location. Great space. Just needs a visit from Kitchen Nightmares. read more

There aren't a lot of restaurants in town but we ordered out four meals (prawn penne, beef souvlaki, mac and cheese and butter chicken) and my three picky teenagers and I all loved our meals, absolutely delicious! Minors aren't allowed inside but ordering out was worth it! read more

Hi everyone. I own a cottage in Osoyoos but live in Vancouver. I realize that in the off season that good help is hard to find in these small towns. I went with some family members this past Saturday and we sat down and ordered our food. It was after lunchtime so the place was half full. We ordered our food and a few things happened where I had to write about our experience. 1. the waitress took a long time to take our order. One of our party ordered coffee and we had to wait for her coffee at least 10 minutes. Once she received her coffee, she was not asked about a refill until we were about to leave. 2. The food was alright and at least it was hot. I would say the food is 3 out of 10 stars. we have eaten here last year but we have found the quality has gone down hill. 3. the waitress spilled a beer on my friends winter jacket as she was walking by. She NEVER apologized and came back with a paper towel to wipe the jacket down. the bartender who we found out was acting manager for the day, came by with a mop and cleaned up behind us as the beer had spilled between two tables. He did NOT come by and apologize for the spilled beer on the jacket or near our chairs. 4. We received the bill and the waitress said nothing about the spilt beer. When she came back with the wireless device to have us pay our bill, we mentioned to her that one persons food should be taken off the bill. I have worked in the restaurant business years ago and i know of a few cafe shop / small restaurant owners and they have told me as a minimum you take away the charge of the persons meal who was affected by the spill. Her response was " it was not my fault".... huh???? we didnt say whose fault it was, all we said was our experience was that restaurants take off the charge or do something with the bill to make it right. Her attitude made us get upset fairly quickly as we realized that their was no intention of making this right. We asked again for the charge to be taken off and maybe we should talk to the manager. She left in a hurry to talk to the bartender/manager and came back and slammed?? the bill on our table. She didnt say anything. we looked at the bill and what she had done was offer us a staff discount on the whole bill...no apology from the bartender/manager or from the waitress..... 5. is this bad training??? or just a restaurant not knowing how to treat customers?? it seems there were many locals there on a saturday afternoon so it could be they dont care about tourists and visitors from out of town. 6. needless to say, we will NEVER go back and give them our business...... 1 star out of 10............. Aweful service!! Brunette with the diamond in her belly button couldn't give a sh....t. Cocktails worst I've ever had Caesar Salad really sucked. They don't seem to care if you enjoyed your meal or the service. Guess they figure everyone is a tourist and they won't ever see again. I'd say stay away from this pub! read more

We've driven past this Pub a number of times while in Osoyoos and have wanted to go as it looked like a fun place. We finally did last night and were really impressed. Both my wife an I have worked in the service industry and can be a little picky about food and especially service. Our server, Britney answered all our questions about the menu and ran to the kitchen to check on an allergy issue. She was quick and attentive even with a full restaurant and a real pleasure. My wife an I both ordered the steak sandwich with a salad that was on special for $10.99. Our expectations weren't super high for a steak at that price but we really impressed. The steaks were larger and thicker than we've ever had when ordering a steak sandwich and they where cooked as ordered and really, really good! Salads were great too! The runner that brought our food was excellent as well. Overall a great experience and can't wait to go back! Thanks Britney! You made our night! read more

I can't really comment on the food to be honest as we did not get any service for more then 10 to 15 minutes. Not a place I ever want to go again if I can't even order food. Instead we ended up going to Sages near by. Way better, recommend you go there instead rather than wasting your time here...Personally I don't think they care about out of towners probably just the locals. read more

The nice wait staff who constantly had to apologize, are the reason this place even got one star. If you have three hours to eat then this is the place for you. Otherwise, go to McDonald's or you might starve waiting for your below average pub food. read more

Phoned in a pick up order for butter chicken, Pad Thai and Owl Salad, all delicious, large portions and reasonably priced! They had the order ready for me in 15 minutes and the friendly bartender took my money. A pretty server was busy serving tables so I definitely give this pub a try if you're looking to dine in. read more

The serving staff have to step it up. They ignore seated customers and take forever to acknowledge them. They also don't seem to be helping each other out when they are busy. Acting like they enjoy working for a living might also help. Go over to the Sage and see how they work. When people come to visit us here in Osoyoos, the Owl will not be my recommended place to go. read more

Sat on the patio, gorgeous view. The server was awful, after getting menus, we waited forever to place our order, waited forever for our food, and then waited forever to pay. Love that you ciuld by nevada tickets there though, super cool. This restaurant has potential if you have enough staff on shift. Location is nice, the patio overlooks the water. The atmosphere is typical pub, the music was at a nice volume, not too loud. Service was pretty slow for a Sunday night. We waited over 20 minutes for food and it wasn't that busy. My sandwich meat was cold and the bread was on the verge of going stale; Also, soggy. I could tell it was sitting out for a while. There was no quality check until half way thru the meal and my mouth was full so I could not politely let the server know how dissatisfied I was with the quality of food. LOCAL PUB REFUSES TO SERVICE LOCAL RESIDENTS The Owl Pub is conveniently located in downtown Osoyoos, which used to be our regular watering hole, until one Wednesday we chose their special wings, and shared them with a friend. For the next 5 days we found that our favourite place was the "Toilet", our biggest decision was knowing which end to put where and totally unable to stray more then ten feet away from possible disaster. A trip to the doctors became very embarrassing with feces running down one's legs, food poisoning was the diagnosis, and our friend suffered the same embarrassing problem. Upon our return to the Owl, almost a week later, we verbalised our concerns with the cook. Bar staff, and the Manager who treated it as a big joke, and laughed at our misfortune. The next day "happy hour" didn't happen at the Owl, as Interior Health had paid them a visit that morning. Directly upon our arrival in the bar in the early afternoon, staff accused us of phoning Interior Health, they said they "guessed" it was us. From that point on we were refused service, apparently instructions came directly from the Manager himself. Since June 29 2017 we have made two other attempts to have "happy hour" at the Owl Pub, the first time the Pub Manager was not there, but staff shared with us that they had been ordered not to serve us or they would loose their jobs if he happened to walk while we were enjoying a "pint". On our second visit on August 25 2017, we thought the Manager would realize his mistake and let bygones be bygones, But we couldn't have been more wrong. The bar staff wasn't sure if they should serve us, so phoned the Manager, the answer was a big NO, we asked to talk to him directly, after keeping us waiting about ten minutes, he appeared and responded very violently by shouting, and became very red in the face, we were told in no uncertain words that our money was no good there and we were not welcome and added, that he has the right to refused service to anyone he chooses, his reason was we complained too much. So we left. If you want to get really sick, listen to music that's much too loud, cranked up by bar staff so no one can have a reasonable conversation, freeze because the heating isn't up to scratch, or trip over the floor because it's in total disrepair, and just happen to mention your concerns to the manager, then this IS the place for you. Don't get us wrong, Osoyoos is a very warm, friendly and accommodating place to visit and have fun, it's just the Owl Pub that is not so nice. read more

Been here a number of times. Like the food. We were a party of 7 on a Sunday for lunch. The waitress told us we couldn't put 3 table together. We had to crowd around 2 tables. Apparently it's management policy, they might get busy and need the extra table. You need to be a party of 10 to get the third table. On a Sunday in March, in Osoyoos, be serious. We would have left if not for our 91 year old mother, who is difficult to get in and out of places. As it was no one else came in to the restaurant while we were there, is was basically empty. Think they better rethink that policy! read more

The food is ok. Beer is cold and lotsa tvs if you want to watch some sports. Looks like they have a great patio for the summer. Right smack downtown osoyoos nest to the watermark and close to the public beach, short walk to the marina. Sauces and soup where inedible due to salt. Lettuce wraps were phenomenal, good nachos and wings! Server was lovely also. Went back again for beers in the evening since they had craft beer on special. Very nice place and would definitely go back on our next visit. read more
