Restaurant Passaggio offers a terrific variety of options from Salad to grilled food and desserts, and the quality is quite fine. Their lunchtime menu featured a Thai Chicken Curry on this occasion, and it was rather tasty. The Swiss rest stops in general are much nicer than those in the US, even the better ones such as what you'd find on the Ohio Turnpike. The facilities are clean and offer a variety of shops for convenience. This one is a credible option for lunch on the way to business appointments, offering a nice travel break.

I would suggest you just ignore Burger King and instead go directly behind the BK store to the autogrill restaurant and feast on the amazing food choices available - esp the excellent variety at the salad bar. If in the mood for hot food, there are three diff kinds of pizza, pasta, cannoli, soup, hot vegetables with schnitzel, wok fried rice, etcetera. There are also fresh sandwiches, tons of drink options and dessert choices. Three of us split the pizza and a large salad plate and a drink - it came to about 34 chf and it was just perfect. Would definitely stop and eat here again, and recommend it to other travelers!

The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express - neat, simple, and well taken care of. However, I did find a piece of food on his side of the bed against a wall where it looked like nobody cleaned. The staff deserves special mention, especially Nina at the front desk, she had the area cleaned up and she was incredibly kind and helpful with everything from directions to restaurant suggestions. She really took the time to make sure we were comfortable and gave us some great ideas for local food and places to check out.The only real downside was the location. Luckily, dislocation had a breakfast buffet, which was one of the best buffets we had the whole time we were overseas. It's part of a rest stop area right off the highway, which has its pros and cons. On the plus side, there's a small CO-OP store, a Burger King, and a nice little vegetarian buffet right nearby -- all within easy walking distance. So grabbing food or snacks was really convenient. But if you don't have a car, it can be tricky. The nearest bus stop is over a mile away, and the walk goes through a housing area where a few dogs wander around freely. I actually had to watch out a couple of times to keep my wife and myself safe during our walk. After that, she decided taxis were the better option, and I didn't blame her. Still, the views around the area are beautiful -- peaceful Swiss countryside make it feel calm and scenic. Overall, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable once we figured out how to get around. If you have your own car or plan ahead for transport, I'd definitely recommend it.

At first I was a little confused as our GPS took us in to a highway rest area (A2/E35 Raststätte Luzern-Neuenkirch). I guess I really didn't expect to have a hotel there. It made it very convenient for us to have an easy 20-minute drive to Luzern in good traffic. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Our COVID-19 vaccination digital certificates were checked and verified upon check-in. We happened to live in her home town in Germany a while back, and she gave us some very helpful tourist information about Luzern--I'd say it was better than an average tourist information outfit. Very good accommodation--comfortable queen-sized bed and very good sleep quality with quiet room. It had a hide-a-bed/couch (though it wasn't too comfortable to sit there for an extended time), so it might've been qualified as a suite. There was a cow farm and pasture next to this hotel under our bedroom window. We could hear cow bells when they returned to the barn in the evening. I thought that was very nice giving pastoral scene and atmosphere. Very decent breakfast with some COVID-19 health precautions (hand sanitizer and gloves). I think most of folks are following the directions given. Thanks, IHG for the Reward Program!
