We came here specifically for the toboggan so we didn't spend any time hiking in this area. The hiking path has beautiful views and cows along the path.
We purchased tickets for the cable car and toboggan same day at the ticket window. If you will be spending a lot of time in this region look into the different Swiss transportation passes available to save some money.
The toboggans here are not attached and you are fully in control. This is good if you like to go fast without being slowed down BUT this also allows people to go excessively slow and even stop mid-ride. My kids and multiple others did get stuck behind a guy that refused to follow the rules about not taking your phone out. He slowly came down the toboggan run to film and stopped midway to get more footage...DON'T BE THIS GUY! Staff was pretty oblivious to all this.
Overall fun time but the Grindelwald area is extremely touristy and filled with some of the most obnoxious tourists I've ever seen. For this reason I wouldn't return to this toboggan run. If you're hiking you'll be fine, seems like most people are here for the toboggans. read more
