I went to see Dr. O'Regan yesterday for a new patient exam. I indicated to the scheduling staff…read morethat I was experiencing severe neck and shoulder pain and needed to see the doctor. It has always been my understanding through the Anthem Blue Cross HMO system that if a patients wants a referral to a specialist, they can do so, but first must meet with their PCP. So while at first Dr. O'Regan seemed friendly, towards the end of my very short 15-minute appointment, she managed to leave a very bad first impression. So much so that I sat on the exam table in utter disbelief that a doctor of her "maturity" could be so apathetic towards a patient. Before deciding to switch to another PCP, I asked myself these questions. What sort of doctor would refuse your request to see a specialist when you've stated you've had chronic joint pain? Instead, Dr. O'Regan said she's determine my pain was solely muscular and that I didn't need a referral. I have never had a PCP refuse my request for a referral. What sort of doctor would refuse to write a letter to your employer to request certain work area accommodations be made to reduce your muscular pain (chronic or not)? Again, this wasn't a difficult request and it certainly wouldn't have taken Dr. O'Regan more than a couple of minutes to write. What sort of doctor would refuse to answer questions of a concerned patient who asks for her doctor's professional advice? Instead, Dr. O'Regan said she didn't have time because she had a busy schedule and that answering my question would require me to make another appointment for an office visit! I even explained to her that I worked in SF and try to minimize the time away from work. The time it took for her to explain why she couldn't answer my questions was enough time to answer most of my concerns to begin with! I have NEVER had a doctor tell me she didn't have time for me. How can she be a doctor with this attitude? I also shared my negative experience with my work colleagues, friends, and husband and the consensus was that if Dr. O'Regan could be so cold by showing more concern about the number of patients she had to see in the day (that's managed healthcare for you!) rather than show empathy and concern for her patient sitting in front of her, she would be unlikely to show empathy or concern for me in the future. No problem here, Dr. O'Regan. I will gladly give up my spot on your exam table for the next unlucky patient who doesn't value her time as much as I do. Bye-bye

And the rest of the doctors at Walnut Creek Medical Group are just as knowledgable and friendly as well. The only bummer about Dr. O'regan is that she's tough to get into sometimes if you need a same-day or next-day appointment, but I still give her 5 stars because she's surrounded herself with great colleagues...and I've seen all five of them by now! Yes, both doctors were kind. Yes, both doctors seemed incredibly well-informed and excellent in their field. The biggest difference is that Dr. Miller practices her kindness by sharing with me her knowledge and making me feel like an informed part of my own health care. My former doctor often dismissed my concerns, which I brought up very rarely, and made me feel like I was imagining non-existent problems. Dr. Miller took the time to dig in detail about the questions/issues I brought, to talk with me about ways forward to diagnose possible problems while not making me feel like I should panic, then to discuss various options for treatment. I feel like my doctor is really, truly listening to me as a real human being, rather than a series of possible symptoms and statistics that belie those symptoms. I love the office, the front desk, the kind & efficient phlebotomists who get it done despite my very very tiny veins which make it hard to get blood from me, and the timeliness with which I can schedule and be seen and be done with my appointments. Stellar all around. Thank you, One Medical.

I found her to be condescending and lacking of any compassion. I was diagnosed with a chronic condition by my functional medicine doctor four months ago. Today, at my first and last visit with Dr. Miller, she immediately questioned the validity of this diagnosis and made me feel as if I were making it up. I was so upset that I stood up and told her she wasn't the right fit for me. If I had an opportunity to do it over again, I would tell her she could never comprehend the physical pain and exhaustion that came with this condition, and that she is everything that is wrong with western medicine. If it weren't for the fact that I've been at One Medical for years, I would be leaving the practice entirely, but I know well enough to know she's an anomaly. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from her.

Dr. Jones IS THE BEST!!!…read more I was no longer getting the treatment I deserved with my previous PCP in Berkeley, and I desperately needed to switch to a good new doctor who truly cares. I found Doctor Jones. I cannot remember what led me to her, I think my insurance recommended her. However so, I am very grateful. For one, she on the medical board! So she knows her stuff, and she does. She is the first and ONLY doctor who checked my low Vitamin D Levels, and come to find out they were really low. She really listens and jots down everything down on her little laptop. I don't know what that one patient in the other review is talking about regarding the HIV test, I didn't have to take one. Unless its a new thing. The taking of the pictures, I don't remember them doing that, but if they did. That's not a big deal. I am sure they have their legit reasons. Yeah, its a little pain to have to make an appointment to get prescription refills, but A LOT of doctors do that now! Anyway, Doctor Jones is the real deal. She gives the best referrals to the best specialists. She detected my Fibromyalgia, and sent me to a great rheumatologist to get it confirmed. She referred me to the best gastroenterologist to have me thoroughly checked out. I will recommend all my friends and family to see her as their PCP. In fact, my Granny now sees her. I feel good about that because I know she is in good hands.

Best Doctor Ever!!!…read more I have had the best care by Dr. Nadella. She is the first Doctor that actually listen to me. She gives a personal touch to her practice. She always gets back to me and is available to answer my questions. I am against the western medicine mindset to prescribe drugs to fix the symptoms but not actually address the illness.... and cure the problem, SHE actually recommend a holistic Doctor for me to go see! Can you believe that! She listen and prescribed what I believe in. She allowed me to do a natural approach first. We agreed if it did not give us the results were were looking for we would discuss other methods of treatment. Dr. Nadella, during my appointment gave me information to help me on my road to healing my body. I am not talking about handing me one or two pamphlets and rushing me out the door. She gave me information that she had researched on her own and had put together for her patients to use. She also asked me what had been working for me and what Websites that I go to for my information. She was gathering information from me to possibly help her other patients. I LOVE this! I recommend One Medical and Dr. Nadella. I always receive 5 star treatment. Yes, it cost a bit more; however, there service is definitely worth it!
