I…read morehad been to PT for about 2 months and seen an orthopedic surgeon, neither of which could pin point what the injury was. Two sessions in, Dr. Clark mentioned the possibility of a labral tear after doing some carful body mechanic work. I went to see a different orthopedic surgeon, they ordered an MRI and a hip labral tear was confirmed. If it weren't for Dr. Clark, I still wouldn't have a diagnosis. She cares, she listens, she follows up, and she genuinely wants what's best for her patients. Highly recommend. I'm still blown away that my PT and an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hips could not identify what we were working with, and Dr. Clark was able to after two visits.

I have received physical therapy at Functional Performance Physical Therapy, 6169 S. Balsam Way,…read morefor core strengthening, focusing on stabilizing the spine and pelvis through targeted, progressive exercises that engage deep abdominal, back, and hip muscles. Having fallen several times, with and without my walker, I have been in and out of physical therapy for the past fourteen years. I have a total lumbar fusion, two total knee replacements, an index finger surgery in which I nearly lost it, three abdominal surgeries, and am obese. Since moving to Littleton, CO, from Wisconsin in 2024, I have been on continuous oxygen therapy 24/7 for COPD. Additionally, I have neuropathy in both feet and lymphedema, and I underwent vascular surgery on both legs within the past year. I use tactile compression boots on my legs and feet daily and often wrap them with Ace bandages. The therapists here are brilliant! I am very impressed with their knowledge and skills, and my primary care doctor is equally pleased with their practice. I had Rebecca and Tom for most of the first fifteen months. Tom consistently monitored my oxygen levels because I wasn't on oxygen therapy until he diagnosed that I needed it. My oxygen levels stayed at 80-83 for a few sessions, and I began feeling weak and faint. He told me I needed my doctor to check me and prescribe oxygen so I could raise my level above 90. I am very grateful to him because my previous primary care doctor was less than satisfactory. I made an appointment with a pulmonologist at the National Jewish Health Center in Denver, where I was sent home with an oxygen canister the same day. Shortly after, I found a new primary care doctor. I returned after a couple of weeks and continued my sessions with Tom and a student field experience associate for a few months. After a five-month break, I have returned to Functional Performance and am starting to focus on my back and legs. Tom is no longer at this location, so I have seen Rebecca and Alex. Rebecca reassessed me and assigned me to Alex for the coming weeks. He did an excellent job warming up my back muscles and legs. Then, he guided me through the exercises Rebecca had assigned on my first day back. I am keeping a daily workout log and sending it to my daughter via SMS to stay motivated. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Functional Performance, including the amazing receptionists and administrative assistants, Laura and Mary!

Needless to say we were terrified of everything. But on Dec 21, Dr Charlie Yang and his team went in and fixed it. .......fast forward We then had to start PT and my husband was needless to say, healing at an amazing rate on his own. We chose Ascent as his PT therapy. From day one, Will was amazing. Not pushy, worked at my husbands pace. Now my husband had been treated for a form of let's call it 'neuropathy' because nobody ever gave us an answer in CA for years. Where he would wake up with cramping and could barely walk. He was on two medications for six years. Will told us about DRY NEEDLING which is not allowed in CA. And my husband tried it. ...... One session- no cramps. We cried. My husband continues his therapy, he has just started playing golf on a senior league after 3 years of no golf. He is completely OFF the medications he was taking from CA, our GP here is thrilled. He will continue the dry needling as needed. This place is clean, kind, a great place to come. (Even after a wife make a wrong phone call-again, I am so sorry) Thank you Ascent. You have answered my prayers. He's playing GOLF!!
