I believe they only do this a few times a year; Avalon Hall is primarily an events venue. Avalon Hall is farm to table. Nathalie, the owner, built it a few years ago. She was going to go with a barn theme, but was inspired to use a medieval look after watching "Game of Thrones." Avalon Hall has elegant wood paneling, a few tapestries, a knight in armor standing in a corner, and a large fireplace. We were seated at a table next to the fireplace. White table cloths, votive candles, and more. The portions are good-sized. I'm a vegetarian and so my plates were different than my companion's. The appetizer was a flatbread with vegetables and balsamic. The bread tasted good and the vegetables were quite fresh. My main course was pasta with pesto and roasted vegetables. I was so pleased that the pasta was capellini or one nearly that thin. The vegetables couldn't have been yummier. They weren't overly roasted. My dessert of homemade vanilla ice cream and amarena cherries was perfect. I don't know when I've tasted better ice cream. Our server was kind and attentive but also left us alone enough. And I mean alone--we were the only people with a reservation that night! Really hoping to go back soon. Clarksville is only an hour or so from St. Louis. If we were lucky, the assistant would text back after some time. I felt bad for the seller. In a market where properties were going under contract the day they were listed, the seller stated she had only had 5 showings including us in over 30 days. It's no wonder, when her realtor wouldn't respond to realtors trying to contact him. I could understand if it was just one call not returned. This was the entire 30 day process! My sister was ultimately able to close on the property but it was absolutely no thanks to Darrell. Maybe he should stick to listing properties closer to where his office is located.

Appetizers were already displayed on each table as a tiered centerpiece which was a creative idea due to covid. Our apps were a Crispy Buffalo Chicken ball, Potato Puff and a Pastry bite with cheese, spinach and sundries tomato. Oh my goodness all 3 of these were amazing! The pastry puff was my absolute favorite and I could have made my meal just the apps. Salad next, very tasty dressing. It seemed to be a creamy Italian and it wasn't too tart. Salad was just the right serving size. Meal.. chicken milanese, roasted garlic mashed potato and vegetables. The mash were seasoned to perfection and the chicken had the perfect amount of sauce. Food came out hot too, which was a pleasant surprise. Reason for the 4 instead of 5, the dessert fell short as it was waaaayyyy too sweet for my taste and with the tea there was no Equal or Splenda and the sugar available didn't dissolve. Lol. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this caterer!

The Homegoing Celebration of my dearest Uncle, Patrick Clark, ran well over the time that we thought it would. Greg and Rene had another appt they had to get to over 30 minutes away. We were very late but they waited for us. Arriving around 5 minutes before 2pm, his cut off time, I wasn't sure what would happen. Instead of leaving, they had prepared the birds to remain with me, allowing us to perform the ceremony. We were just gonna "wing it" and try to do what we saw on other videos on his web page and on YouTube. Luckily, one of the pastors had experience performing it and it went really well! Professional, courteous, determined, and accommodating to say the least is how I'd describe Mr. Greg & Rene Bruckerhoff.
