i backed out of garage, caught the door as it was going up. bent the bottom panel and it would not close all the way. Called Overhead door and within a couple hrs they were here to check it out. He was able to get it temporarily fixed. He definately knew what he was doing. They ordered the bottom panel, should be done correctly in a week. The worker was pleasant and professional. My garage door would go down a little bit and return. I searched the internet to see why it wasn't working. There was no troubleshooting area for this issue besides the sensors either being dirty or unaligned. My husband and I spent quite a bit of time and effort attempting to troubleshoot the problem. I called Overhead garage door hoping they would supply an answer by phone. Instead they took a credit card and sent a technician. I showed him what was happening and he turned a knob on the garage motor. The garage door went down. It took a week for them to send the$125 bill. The garage door was again stuck. I researched again and saw in a Reddit post that sun was affecting the sensor. Now, we had the real answer. Yes, the service agent had come timely. Happily I was smart and took a photo of the garage door motor. But these guys could care lessabout helping unless they could extract unnecessary fees. read more

The spring broke over the weekend. Called first thing Monday, and a service technician was out late morning got fix it. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Checked over both doors and apply lube to all the rollers. Made sure the other door was in good working order. They are always great to work with. read more

Very poor service! We closed on a new house on 8/29/16. They installed the incorrect doors mid-July and Heath told us weekly that the correct doors would be installed "next week". We finally had the correct doors installed 11/3/16. We had ordered black hardware as well but they did not install the hardware. On installation day our security cameras caught the two employees driving over newly installed sod and leaving the ruts for us to fix. They complained the entire time about their jobs and only making $11/hour. Nonstop expletives and mocking their employer the entire time they were here. Said they could get away with murder and still have a job. They finished at 11:30am and said they would f-around for 3-hours before going back to the shop. This is not a company that prides itself in good service and company values. Stay away! Our friends said another couple had posted a review online and was contacted by the owner who threatened to not warranty the doors unless they took down the review. Classy. Don't bother contacting me to remove the review. We can find someone else to service the doors. read more

STAY AWAY! This company only offers a steep bill, possible damage, and horrible customer service with no resolutions. On July 4th my garage door broke. My wife (who was 9 months pregnant) was due to go into labor at any moment. I called Overhead Garage Door from Sioux Falls, SD and explained to them that my garage door was broke and needed repairs. Both vehicles were trapped in the garage leaving my wife and I in a very tricky situations if she went into labor. Jeff (the employee) showed up at noon and looked over my garage door. He first (very rudely) explained to me that since I tried to get the garage door open myself that I turned a 15 minute fix into a 45 minute fix. He proceeded to release the tension from the springs located directly above the garage door. He used two medal rods (each rod was roughly a foot long) to do this. Jeff then left one of the rods attached to a spring and started to wiggle the garage door. The rod shot out from the spring and hit my 2008 Audi A4 and placed a huge dent in the hood. Jeff quickly looked at me and said he wasn't responsible for any damage done, and asked if I had anything to cover up the vehicles with. Jeff worked very quickly to get the garage door open so he could leave immediately. After the garage door was open I asked him what he was going to do about the dent. He again (very rudely) explained to me that he wasn't responsible and should have walked away from the job. Jeff decided he would contact his manager Joe (service manager) about the issue. When business hours were almost over (that same day) and I still hadn't received a call I quickly reached out to Joe (the service manager) about the issue. He too explained to me that they weren't responsible for the dent, and I would have to contact my insurance company. I asked Joe if I was going to be charged for the service and he didn't have an answer. I asked if I could speak to the owner (Jo T.), and he transferred me to her voicemail. I had to call another garage door specialist to come over and fix the garage door since Jeff didn't fix it before he left. The next day Jo returned my call and asked me what my deductible was. I explained that my deductible was $500. Jo said she would only cover that amount. I took my car to get it repaired, and the total cost was $575.10. Again, Jo T. (owner) only paid $500, and then charged me $98 dollars for a service charge. Again I contacted Jo T. as to why they charged me a service charge. Jo said that if I would have contacted them again they would have come out and fixed it at no additional cost. In the end Overhead Garage Door cost me $173.10 for a dent in my vehicle and a garage door that wasn't operational. read more

We purchased a garage door opener and keypad from overhead door. They assured us that they would be able to help us program them over the telephone. When the day came for them to help us the instructions they gave my husband didn't work. He worked over 20 years as a service technician himself getting and following very detailed instructions from several companies to troubleshoot problems so it was not a matter of him not being able to understand or follow the instructions. The person on the phone didn't want to help anymore and said we would need a service call. When the service technician arrived he had them programmed in about three minutes. He said it was some thing that could have been handled over the phone. I disputed the charge with the office and the gal on the phone was very snippy and short with me but agreed to discuss with the owner and call me back. I hesitated when she said this and she assured me that she would call me back! I waited three days and never received a callback and just checked and my check was cashed. It is absolutely the last money they will ever get from me. I feel completely scammed out of the $91 charge for a "service call". read more

I would give them a minus rating if possible. I asked them for a quote on the garage door panel replacement. Two technicians performed a visual inspection that lasted no more than 5 minutes. Couple of days LATER I received a bill for door servicing for $60.00 which they insisted I should pay. I did not order any service and I did not authorize them to even touch my garage door - I needed only a quote! They agreed to write off the charge, and ... sent me another bill in a month!!!! The new bill had an interest charge on it in addition to the original sum. An individual named Joe was pretty rude on the phone preaching to me about professionalism! When I asked him about the charge he blamed it on the computer! What a smart computer Joe has - it forgets when this suits Joe's interests, even calculates finance charges and assigns an invoice number to it, then the computer puts it into an envelope and mails! An emailed statement with zero balance caught me on my way to Minnehaha court to file a small claim against Overhead Door. These guys are unprofessional and rude! STAY AWAY!
