Heritage Natural Market - Crystal + Natural Goods Visit Review…read moreI stopped by Heritage Natural Market recently to pick up some crystals and sage for my new place. The store is definitely unique, offering a variety of natural goods--from loose teas and spices to crystals and spiritual items--but I had a mixed experience. Crystal Shopping Experience When I arrived, I waited patiently by the crystal counter for quite a while. The woman working was helping someone at the register, so I assumed she saw me and would assist when she could. Unfortunately, I had to speak up and ask for help, which felt a little awkward after standing there for so long without being acknowledged. Once she came over, she was very knowledgeable about the crystals--which I appreciated. I gave her a list, but she was pretty pushy in trying to upsell me on crystals that weren't on it. She kept insisting I "needed" certain stones and that they were "must-haves," which was honestly a bit too much. I was looking for guidance, not a hard sell. I even asked if a smaller version of one crystal was available, and she told me no--but when I looked myself, I found smaller and more appropriate options for my space. Store Layout + Products The store has a ton of bulk goods--spices, teas, beans, candies, etc.--but I'll be honest, some bins looked like they hadn't been rotated or updated in a while. I was hesitant to buy anything from them this visit because a few items appeared dusty or outdated. Vibe While I value passion and expertise, the employee's approach felt overbearing at times. I even felt followed a bit while browsing. For a space that's supposed to feel calming and welcoming, it gave me the opposite vibe. Will I go back? Yes, mainly because there aren't many natural stores like this in the area, and they do have a wide range of items. But next time, I'll likely skip the crystal counter and go in with a firm list and boundaries.

I literally walked in to get mountain valley water and walked out with coconut water and quinoa how sad. The young gorl behind the counter was very rude and had a little bit of an attitude. I honestly don't plan on coming back unless I absolutely have too!

Pepper place is located in Williamsburg outlet. The hubs and I were walking back to the car, when…read morethe word pepper caught his eye. Bright lights welcomed us as we stepped into the store. There was a plethera of salsa, hot sauce, bbq sauce, and seasoning for purchase. The names were eclectic, original, fun, and unique. I for one love spice. The pain I put myself through for the level of heat is just not human lol. I'm usually in a fetal position afterwards cursing myself for those ten minutes of spicy pleasure. There was soo many options making it hard to choose, but luckily they were able to provide numerous amount of sampling spoons to test out the sauces. The sauces are made in the US, and I believe their home base is Tennessee where its bottled. It is a bit pricey, but when you factor in the overhead, labor hours, distribution and etc, you at least know your supporting a local business, and buying quality products. I think our two sauces we purchased totaled $30 bucks. The smaller bottle was closer to $17. It's a mix of sweet bbq and ghost chili pepper. I recommend it in salsa, chicken, pizza, sandwiches, and soup. I finished that one in a couple days. The heat wasn't as extreme as the ghost chili bbq. They offer military discount, oh and they sell their own tortilla chips that scoops up their salsa perfectly. We will be back as our bottle is slowly depleting and needs to be replenished. Check pepper place out for gifts, and to add on some spice to your life! Support local!!

I don't usually write reviews like this, but what happened today deserves to be called out…read more I placed an order for 40 pounds of chicken leg quarters for a family Easter gathering--something that requires planning, coordination, and trust. Yesterday, I even called ahead to confirm hours and made it clear I would be picking up my order today. When I arrived, I was met with complete incompetence. My order was scribbled on a yellow Post-it note--already a red flag--and they had written the wrong date (Monday the 7th). Because of their mistake, they had sold out of chicken and had nothing to give me. No backup plan. No accountability. Nothing. So now, on a major holiday weekend, I'm left scrambling to replace 40 pounds of meat for my family. It gets worse. After leaving, I called and spoke with the owner. I expected at least a basic apology or some attempt to make things right. Instead, I got smug indifference. No ownership, no urgency, no concern. His "solution"? Offer me whole chickens cut into quarters at nearly THREE TIMES the price. That's not a solution--that's taking advantage of your own mistake. When I asked how something like this even happens, his response was essentially: "Well, I guess they wrote it down wrong." That was it. No apology. No effort to fix it. Just a shrug wrapped in arrogance. This wasn't a minor inconvenience--this was a complete failure in customer service, communication, and basic professionalism. If you're trusting this business with an important order, don't. They've shown exactly how little they value their customers when it actually matters. I won't be back.
