Super cute brewery on the river. The tangerine dream sour is so good. They have a variety of snacks and food items too.

Beautiful waterside location to sip an array of delicious craft beers. The brewer is a chemist and it shows. Good live entertainment too but check their schedule. I'm partial to their list of unique and funky beers, which includes exciting porters and stouts, and Lee's Rope Burn--served with a Twizzler! IPA drinkers won't be disappointed and they've a selection of easy drinkers too.

Most beautiful brewery setting in Minnesota

I have been to many a brewery, and this one may have the most beautiful setting. And the beer was good. I quite enjoyed my Oktoberfest and Backroad Hazy IPA. Always a friendly crowd- easy to make friends and you can have your dog outside

Three flights of tasters.

Visiting family for the holidays and came down to Outstate for some tasters. Great variety of beers, and all very solid options, making it easy for a wide range of palettes to find something they'll enjoy. I by far prefer the malty dark beers and English style, but I got a flight of their IPAs because I also love trying new things. All four were good, though relatively mellow (compared to the over-hopped IPAs in the PNW). The Dubbel was my finisher for the evening, and was fantastic. The manager, Zane, was great. Attentive service and friendly, happy to geek out about the brewery. One big highlight was the ambiance. The music was loud enough to dull other tables conversation but quiet enough that we could still have our own conversations. Loved it and will be back every time I'm in town.

apparently not just an MSP problem. STOP stealing, heathens

Inaugural visit on Friday. The only thing that will keep me from frequenting Outstate as much as I'd like is the nearly three hour one way drive! But...wowee!! They built a tap room, a cabin-esque tap rioom not far from a quiet body of water!! You have a glorious patio to sit on while adoring the peaceful water or sit inside...for the same view. I was so impressed w my first view, before I rounded the corner to the tap room, the wood carved OUTSTATE! The tap room is very well laid out, spacious and open! Beertender Shelly was my BrewsDirector. She falls in to my stance that "no matter how good the beer is, 90% of why I return is because of who's behind the bar!" Shelly was so friendly, knowledgeable, and just an all around pure joy to chat with!! That coupled with how the tap room reminds me of a relaxing cabin... you just feel at ease @ Outstate! The brewer happened to be sitting @ the end of the bar, so got to chat him up! It's always fantastic to meet the person behind the beer, and find out they're a lovely human! Between the conversations, the beer and the comfortable environment... I found myself struggling to get up and leave!.... I felt like I was already home. Thanks Outstate for providing me a tap room experience like no other, and being my 299th brewery... I think that says a lot!! I have already been hassling my city friends to make the nearly three hour drive and check you out!! I tried six beers: Rope Burn, Blue Hawaiian, Pond Hockey, Duck, Grandmas Garden rhubarb sour and Back Road IPA. I thought the Blue Hawaiian seltzer was so refreshing! Not an IPA fan, I really enjoyed the Back Road, it was so well balanced and not in your face piney & bitter! The flight "paddles" are cute little wooden canoes! Looking forward to my next visit to drink some new Shawn-brewed offerings and hopefully more chatting up beertender Shelly!! Cheers Outstate!

A fun day with the plant ladies!

We stopped here for a bite to eat after getting plants at Nature's Garden. What a fun spot! Beer choices were great and pizza was delicious. The view was beautiful snd service was great. It might need to be an regulastop!

Having a great time with family tasting all the different brews on their samplers called flights. Beautiful patio area with fireplace, interior is also a great atmosphere. Tonight, they have a food truck outside serving tacos and a guy setting up to sing Beatles and Dylan, etc. Just a perfect place to relax, hang out and enjoy a couple beers. Really enjoying it!

We're so glad Outstate opened up in Fergus Falls! I may be biased; my wife grew up in Fergus, and we want to see this little "outstate" town thrive. Head brewer Pat is dedicated to excellence and authentic styles of beer. His Blue Northern Light Lager is a great gateway beer and best-seller; the Spray Tan sour is a great gateway to sours; the Star Island IPA is a GREAT IPA, and I generally don't enjoy American-style IPAs. The taproom is super cute, warm and friendly with a great view of the river. Outstate is a must-visit whenever we're in town, and I definitely recommend it to anyone else local or passing through!

This place is gorgeous! Located right on the river it's an incredible place to cozy up to the fire place and and watch the sunset through the huge windowed garage door.

Caribou Coffee - At the drive-thru

Caribou Coffee

A few Thursdays back, I was driving in a snowstorm. It had two parts to it. The first was a lighter…read moreversion in Minnesota that hugged I-94. The other was a stronger, nastier version in North Dakota, appearing around I-29. I left the Twin Cities and headed northbound to Winnipeg. I saw a sign for this Caribou Coffee in Fergus Falls. I needed a final drink from it for 2024, so I exited to go find it. It was extremely icy in Fergus Falls. A combination of fluctuating temperatures, and melting and freezing snow caused a lot of ice on the roads. My rental vehicle didn't have winter tires. It made me appreciate having them on my own car, but marvelled at how I managed without them living in Minnesota and Manitoba. I ultimately found this Caribou Coffee. I carefully drove over to the area and parked. I then placed my order through the Caribou Coffee app. I got the following items: - Medium blue raspberry energy drink - Grilled cheese It was a combo where you could get two items for $10. I then headed to the drive-thru. The entrance is by the far right side of the store, past Jimmy John's drive-thru. I hadn't talked to a single person all day until I got to the drive-thru speaker. I got a friendly woman. What I wasn't expecting was how horrible my voice sounded. It was squeaky and I was surprised that the woman understood me. I guess that a combination of a sore throat and taking in a Wild game the night before wasn't great for my voice. I am grateful that the two women at this store interacting with me were friendly and could understand me. I sounded like I was going through puberty again. One of the woman let me know that the store was out of grilled cheese. I asked what other sandwich I could get. She was great rattling off the list. I ended up saying yes to a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. It didn't take long for my order be ready. I thanked the woman who handed me my items in my crazy-sounding voice and headed off. My bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel was yummy. The cheese was stretchy. The bacon and egg were delicious on the most perfect bagel. It was my first time having this sandwich. I'd get it again. I was happy enjoying my blue raspberry energy drink for the last time last year. It hit the spot and gave me enough of a caffeine boost to get me through a long travel day in a snowstorm. I liked my stay here. Folks here were kind and thankfully understood squeaky voices like mine. The food and drink were yummy. I hope that I'll get to try a grilled cheese someday at any Caribou Coffee location. (20)
