While my wife and young daughter were picking items, an employee cut in front of them, bumped into my wife and then physically bumped me with a trash can she picked up from where I was picking out some cherries. She proceeds and to walk an away without apologizing. We look at her from afar and yells "problem!?" at us. Totally unprovoked, rude, unhinged behavior that left us shocked and my daughter shaken. Will never return.

I was looking for flowers to decorate a birthday cake and they actually happened to have a mini bouquet (last one) that worked out perfect especially since this place was not originally one of my stops. When I'm not in a rush I'll grab some local cider and bloody mary mix next time!

I think the host has a vetting process to make sure that each vendor is a family-owned business. That means no resellers, imported goods, or franchises which really ensures the uniqueness of each stall. Some of the vendors are farmers market only businesses. It's great to speak with the actual creator of the crafts and know their stories. It makes for very unique gifts too! Parking can be found along the residential area streets. I saw port-a-potties for restrooms. Be sure to walk around the adjacent downtown area for restaurants and more shops, or if it's a really nice day, head down to the waterfront and enjoy the water.

A man answered and said they got the numbers mixed up and ended the call. Weird. It's the honor system, which is neat. They have a PO system that you use to check out, they should have the prices set into the system for the customers.

I arrived late, so some stalls were starting to pack up. I counted about three produce stalls. They also have the typical stalls for honey, or cheese, or cookies/pastries, etc. They also have the non-food items such as pottery. I chose a couple of sweet treats of frosting cookies from "Darlene's Baked Goods"; Darlene was also very nice. I am also looking forward to seeing Port Gardner Crafts in the future. I like their thin wall potteries and hope to find a large size mug in the future. If I am already in the area, it is worth a visit. I would not purposely drive here for the market.

At the end of the street I found a few food options. The most amazing Filipino food from 88 Cues, irresistible salsas and masala chai, and so much more to try. I ended up buying a bowl cozy at this market. The stand I bought it from has been at other markets and each time I wonder if I really need one. Honestly this is the most underrated and useful item in your household and if you are a camping person then you will love a little bowl holder. Mine has a Mexican skull theme and my husbands is super Mario bros. They're so cute and nicely crafted. I also bought some chicken earrings from Alpine Rio creations. They're beautiful and when I asked if they came in a darker wood color, the artist offered to make me a pair. How amazing is that! I loved the studs and will surely be buying more next time I see them, their work is so cute!

Caught up with this candymaker at an event called Camp Yelp, which had 20 vendors serving sample…read moresized foods. Was surprised that a cotton candy maker would be here, but so glad they came. They had four flavors, so I picked marshmallow and banana and my dudes, it was amazing. I've had to make cotton candy for fair type events and I'm used to the regular blueberry or bubblegum flavor but this combo was so good. The lady made it lickety split and it was fun to watch someone make something custom made for you. I'll be looking for them at the next food fair type event I go to in the future because I still can remember the flavor of that banana in my mouth.

i've been buying lotus flour bread since the second or third week they arrived at the west seattle…read morefarmers market and i've never looked back. they have quality products and great flavor combinations! i also appreciate that you can often buy a whole or half loaf. sometimes i've seen some special cookies or other sweets and have been tempted based on how well the bread holds up and tastes. from talking with the owner, jolie, i know they use quality cairnspring flour and infuse everything they bake with a lot of passion for the process. one week i inadvertently ended up at home with a half loaf that i believed was mispackaged and not what i had wanted to buy but the next time i was there, i explained what i had had at home and what i thought i had bought. jolie's reaction was everything you want in a vendor: she was so intent on my being a happy, satisfied customer that she made sure i was getting the half loaf i wanted that day and told me not to pay. in general, this experience of trying out a vendor new to my local market and falling in love has resulted in bread purchases every week i go to the market which is essentially every sunday without fail. i highly recommend checking out lotus flour's many options!

I discovered Lotus Flour at the Farmers' Market when the cookies caught my eye-- the Brown Butter Sourdough Snickerdoodles. I thought that sourdough was an interesting base for a cookie, so I thought I would give it a try. These are amazing! Snickerdoodles aren't my favorite cookie, I'm a chocolate chip cookie kind of girl, but Lotus Flour definitely converted me. The best thing about these cookies is that they aren't too sweet-- you get the cinnamon, rather than the sweetness of the cookie base. The sourdough base is the perfect balance. And oh so chewy... The Lotus Flour owner/baker is incredibly nice! There were times when there were certain sourdough breads that weren't available that week, where she let me know it was alright to make a request. I like exploring, so I usually wait for the next market to see what surprises await. Favorites at our house: the Three Cheese, the Parmesan Herb, and the Sea Salt Focaccia. If you're going to get sourdough, get the best, and that is Lotus Flour. We're looking forward to the new Farmers' Market season, or finding Lotus Flour somewhere before then.
