Haven't met a farmers market we didn't like!! Till now!!…read more I get that its covid. But man this place is snobby. And very much un-fun!! They have lines/tape around all over so you can't just enter. You do have to walk all the way to 5th and something for an entry. Which also include a huge line, a very unnecessary loud teenage band playing ( tone deaf loud) next to all the restaurants/their outdoor seats. You cant social distance even if you try. All I wanted was some fresh flowers for the cemetery and we ended up walking the whole market twice from outside trying to find an entrance. They do have a different entrance where they turn everyone away in the scorching hot heat! And last but not least: No dogs allowed? What? Isn't that the whole point of farmers market? Family/dog friendly? Baci got his socializatio in as a tiny pupper from Ballard market. It's like a puppy parade every time you go there. We ended up skipping because of this!! I did see 2 old ladies left their dog outside, next to the loud as hell band so they can walk the market for something. We watched the sad pup the whole time till they return! Really though. No flowers/spices are worth leaving your beloved old dog behind Overall, the least fun farmers market ever!! if it werent for random facemask, you wouldnt even know there was covid. Hot! Over crowded! Many flowers stands. Not that special!

I've lived in Edmonds since 1980 and have been going here since I found them back then. I'm always sad when they pack things up in the fall, and in the spring, around Mother's Day, I'm delighted to see them back again. So nice to see small businesses making it in these crazy times. I wish them continued success.

Walking through the space, alternating the resting back arms & side-by-side arms, my perusing eyes veered here... veered there... veered everywhere. My particular focus is generally keeping eyes peeled for all the goodness that is organic (everything from beans & greens, to tomatoes & potatoes). 2nd priority is any vegan treats worth trying and any low/minimal waste candles (such as naked votives; sorry concrete & glass but you're only a nice rare treat). Today I managed a small haul of produce (bean varieties from Garden Treasures Nursery & Organic Farm and more different beans from Alvarez Organic Farms - both had nice staff who shared eating ideas); oh and a small sample of ginger peach muffins from Liberated Foods. As far as my list, very solid! Next time planning to get some greens and garlic. They are limited with vegan eats and home decor votives (which are super rare in these markets I've seen, if at all).

It's held June to early October on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. It's recommended to show up early, use public transit, bike or walk since the surrounding lot and side streets gets pretty full. Vendors representing the market, city, community organizations and services were there. There's also live music and kids activities. There's quite the variety of goods available like fresh flowers, fresh seasonal produce, baked goods, indie artisans and their wares, cheese, meat, eggs, food vendors, onsite coffee stand, cideries, handmade soaps, candles, honey, olive oils, etc. A pleasant way to spend part of your Saturday and show your support for farmers and independent businesses since 2012!

The goats you can pet were friendly and completely neutral to being petted. A goat was actually followed me a bit and I had to keep petting him lol! Birds were friendly, especially if you had food. They came running over when they're hungry and they do the cutest tail wag when they get a pellet. The enclosures seem pretty good size. Super family friendly, for $5 per person it is a steal. I would highly recommend anyone with kids or family to come. Lovely pumpkin patch, watch baby chicks hatch, feed farm birds...all really fun and a lot more interactive than the zoo. Great addition to the Edmond neighborhood.

Some grocery stores really stretch the definition of "local" to somehow mean selling fruits from California, but this market enforces a tighter definition of local meaning exclusively from Washington state farmers. The market is well spaced so that while it's busy, you're not packed cheek to jowl, and there's room to form orderly queues. The only downside of this market and the main reason I don't visit more often is that getting here poses some challenges. The light rail doesn't go here (I'm still waiting for a legitimate ETA for the Ballard Link Extension, really, how long can 8 miles take??) and finding parking is a nightmare. The other reason is that I'm always so tempted to over buy the hot foods and bakery goods since everything smells so amazing here!

Ballard Farmers Market was my favorite farmers market in the greater Seattle area for many years…read more Recently, the booth count seems to be less than before, with restaurants occupying the street space (understandably) along two blocks. Subsequently, I lost some interest since I don't live nearby. While I was in Ballard on a recent Sunday, I rushed to the market to see if it was still open. Officially, it was not; they closed at 2pm. But they were still packing up. I believe they are not allowed to sell after the official closing time; I asked one vendor, they declined. The staff wants the streets to reopen as soon as possible. As I walked the two blocks, several vendors still have some items on display on their tables. With a bit of wink, wink, accidentally dropping cash on the table and accidentally taking things off the table, I walked away with goodies. I won't say what I bought to avoid anyone getting into trouble. Street parking was easy enough nearby on a Sunday.

Maybe it was the time of year we went, maybe it was an off day, maybe the planets weren't aligned…read moreon this very warm, beautiful Sunday morning but what a disappointment. Firstly, $10 for 12 hour parking (the only option they offered) when typically on Sundays parking is free (at least at the Port Orchard farmers market it is), and we only planned on stopping by for some farm fresh vegetables and sticking around for maybe an hour. There were maybe a total of 18-20 tents all selling crafts and things of that nature. We saw household plants, but nothing "farm" related. We paid $10 for parking to essentially wander off outside the Kingston ferry terminal where the majority of shops were either closed or uninteresting. I saw another Yelp review put it perfectly, "less on the farm more on the market". The live music was ok and brought about a decent atmosphere, unfortunately that was the only redeeming quality of this experience. Again, maybe it was the time of year (end of July) or maybe it was the heat. It wasn't worth the 27 minute drive nor the $10 parking when we were there maybe 15 minutes. Go to the one in Port Orchard, they actually sell vegetables and great stuff from local farmers. I didn't take pictures because it was so depressing.

As soon as I heard that, I wanted it. It was like adding a tap to a watermelon it tasted so good! This was a smaller market with an okay amount of vendors but just two rows to stroll through. The location though is beautiful and right by the water and park so it gets busy. The parking lot to the side was a mess with traffic but across the street there is tons of additional parking that was way easier.
