    Last night we went to outback steakhouse for my grandsons 14th birthday his choice. So my daughter and the boys got there 1st they were seated to the right of the entrance at a round table. There were 6 of us. The waitress was already at the table taking our drink orders, and the appetizer order which was a blooming onion I must say they are delicious, the waitress came back to the table with our drink orders and the pumpernickel bread & butter which was warm and really good. After a short wait the blooming onion was served and that again was yummy. Then the waitress took our food orders. The food came out about 20 ish minutes later and we were served by a different waitress. When our waitress came back to check on us we did inform her that some of the food was cold. The waitress asked us if we wanted to send it back to the kitchen or get another plate we declined. Then the kitchen manager & head chef not sure what his title was came out to our table and checked in with us on the cold food. To his credit he did not charge us for the cold food and tool $25.00 off of the bill which was very unexpected it very much appreciated. I ordered the potato soup without the bacon bits and it was good and did come out hot, however the Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and it did contain the outer hard pieces of romaine lettuce I didn't like that so much. All in all the waitress was really awesome she brought out dessert for my grandson and lit the candle and also wrote happy birthday on a napkin. So kudos to the waitstaff last night and well it's Outback so the ambiance is what it is. It wasn't too crowded or loud so it was good . I'm Going to give it 4 stars due to the service.

    Great meal tonight to celebrate my parents' anniversary (56 years). We reserved a table online for 5:45pm but still had a 20 min wait when we arrived. People walking in were told one hour, so I recommend doing the online reservation. It is Valentine's weekend, and a Saturday, so plan ahead people. We all ordered drinks and a bloomin' onion, of course! Nick, our server, was fantastic - friendly, funny & efficient. He took good care of us. Three out of four meals were perfect. Hubby likes medium rare steak and his bone-in ribeye was definitely not medium rare. He ate it anyway (can't waste steak!) but said it had too much gristle and was overcooked. Nick would have taken it off the bill or replaced it but hubby didn't want to make a fuss. All of the other meals were great. My 6oz sirloin was perfectly medium, juicy, and seasoned right. The baked sweet potato is my favorite - love the butter too. No one had room for dessert. We would definitely come back.

We had reservations for 3:30 PM on Mother's Day, and in the special request section of the reservation, I clearly specified that this was a Mother's Day celebration. I also requested a quiet or private booth and mentioned that my daughter is vegetarian. Upon arrival, we were seated upstairs directly next to what appeared to be an employee service area. We could constantly hear employees talking, dishes being washed or thrown around, and overall it was easily the loudest table in the restaurant. What made this more frustrating was that another couple seated next to us complained loudly about their table and caused a scene. Although staff initially explained the restaurant was full, they were eventually moved. Meanwhile, we had politely requested a better table in advance through the reservation system, yet because we were patient and understanding, it felt like we were simply ignored. Service throughout the meal was inconsistent and inattentive. It took quite a while before anyone took our drink order. The wine menu presented to me only included wines by the glass, despite the fact that I later saw servers bringing full bottles of wine and champagne to other tables. I wanted to order a bottle of champagne for the occasion, but by the time our waitress finally arrived, I didn't want to complicate things further. Another detail that stood out was the complete lack of acknowledgment for Mother's Day. I overheard our waitress enthusiastically wishing other tables a "Happy Mother's Day" and asking if they were celebrating anything special, yet she never once acknowledged me or our celebration. My husband ordered a piña colada and was told they could not make one, so he settled for a strawberry martini that was overwhelmingly sweet and unenjoyable. We chose not to complain. The food itself, as always, was excellent and truly the highlight of the evening. However, the service continued to feel rushed and impersonal. I was planning to order my favorite espresso martini after dinner, but instead the bill was simply dropped at the table without anyone asking if we wanted dessert or another drink. One employee who was handling bread and water service also made us feel rushed. While I was literally still chewing my food, she interrupted to ask, "Should I bag that for you?" It made me feel like we were being pushed out. I was also disappointed that despite specifically mentioning my daughter was vegetarian in the reservation notes, our waitress never offered vegetarian suggestions or asked about dietary restrictions. My husband has an accent, and our waitress repeatedly pretended not to understand him. At one point, after commenting on his accent, she laughed and said, "Or maybe I'm deaf." Ironically, despite the poor experience, I still tipped over 20% -- more than $100 from our table alone -- because I did not want to reinforce unfair stereotypes about Latinos not tipping. Black & Blue has always justified its upscale pricing through excellent food and outstanding hospitality, which is why this experience was so disappointing. She must have gotten the manager who arrived with the Brazilian cut himself and cut it himself. Shortly after medium rare flank steak arrived. Dessert and coffee/tea not offered...can't imagine why not! Don't let the door hit you in the way out. Ughhh...

On the reservation form (online) it doesn't mention needing to place a comment in the notes for special occasions that you'd like a booth- so unfortunately, even though the place was pretty empty upon arrival we were unable to have a booth - the hostess said "had I known by you placing that request in the comments section online I might have been able to secure you a booth- but it's not guaranteed." - wait, what?? Not sure why they take online reservations then. Started dinner with a salad which was delicious and bread that was pretty basic and unfortunately the oil that they served with it was a simple and nothing special. For our entrees, my partner had the dual filets, which I'm sorry to report were seasoned with so much pepper that it took away from the steaks themselves. I had the salmon wrapped in bacon- which was superb. My partner had wished he had gotten it after trying one compared to his and after tasting his steak I'd have to agree it would have been a better choice. Hoping if we try this again it will be a better experience. Staff were nice, but not very welcoming. Decor could use some upgrades. Not sure if I would recommend.
