Food was good but not perfect and we stop here every time we have an appointment at Shriners Hospital in Greenville SC. It's a good stopping point on our way home. The past 2 times we have been here the service as been horrible. And I believe we have had the same server each time. The worse part was walking in and the host staff were standing around and ignoring those who walked in. Then arguing who and where would we be seated. Lots of dirty tables that sat that way the whole time we were there. Maybe since there is so many "host" they could spend some time cleaning the place up a bit, tables , floors etc. read more

So we decided to come to Outback since we were at the outlets tonight. The place is maybe abut less than half capacity. It took about five to seven minutes for someone to take our drink order. We were offered bread that never arrived. When they finally took our order, the waitress was extremely chatty to the point of presenting herself as nervous. She had a comment on everything we ordered and when repeating the order back she was incorrect on the temperature of my steak. She was also completely clueless on what blue cheese dressing was. The waitress came back and said our salads were up and she forgot to put our bloom in onion in. Multiple times I told her to please just bring the salads and she apologized another few times and finally brought them out. We were told she had a problem with a previous table, and I believe the problem was her. She just placed our food and reached completely over our table and was leaning over my plate. Stopped Monday about 4:30PM. Restaurant not busy. Ordered fillet and prime rib, very rare. The prime rib was not really prime rib. It was a steakhouse roast. It was medium, not very rare. It was covered in spices. I like spicy, this was someone dropped the spice bottle. The meat almost seemed microwaved warmed up. Manager asked if every thing was great. Told him that it was terrible. This place is an embarrassment to the Outback name. I came here with family while visiting and it has unfortunately turned me off of Outback forever. We walk in on a weekday eve expecting to be seated relatively quickly.They said a 20 minute wait. Okay, no big deal. We were a party of 5 so a little wait is totally fine. 30 minutes ticks by, our buzzer doesn't go off, my dad goes and checks to see if maybe they forgot about us. They say not yet, but give no further time. Another 15 minutes go by, we check, still no. Then another 20. By this point we are getting annoyed because it has been over an hour. We are in too deep, we have invested too much. Had we known it would be more than 20ish minutes to wait we would have definitely just gone elsewhere. Long story short, we must have asked at least 5 times if they had any sort of estimate of time or why there was such a delay. We waited for over and hour and a half to be seated. The hostess was rude and smug and clearly did not understand how to be a hostess. The WORST was that there were tons of tables open, but she claimed she did not want to overwhelm the servers... SMH. Lots of other parties were in a similar situation to us and we all just could not fathom what could possible be going on in this place. One we were finally seated at a dirty booth, out server seemed sweet and young but clearly stressed. We quickly order everything at once since by this time our early dinner was turning into a late dinner. Service was meh but we could deal with it. Not much was expected after such an ordeal to even just be seated. Then, the entree my mom ordered, they were somehow out of. We found this out as out other food was about to come out. They couldn't have figured this out earlier? Or substituted something? It was a pasta and they were out of the sauce. My mom got kind of upset and almost cried because this was supposed to be a nice relaxing dinner, with shopping at the outlets after. The whole experience was HORRIBLE. Needless to say, the mall was closed by the time we left. Mom finally was able to get something else, although the timing of her meal was far later than ours. the whole experience took 3+ hours... It's been awhile to go out for steaks, because, well its hard to get a good steak at a restaurant. When you look at the prices on the menu, your first instinct is to look around and think " I thought I was in a chain restaurant not a five star gourmet place. But have you seen the price of meat lately? Now there is absolutely nothing to complain about when talking about the different cuts of meat that were ordered. There was two 6 oz.Filet Mignon and Crabcakes $25.99,a 14oz. Ribeye $23.99, a 5oz. Sirloin with coconut shrimp $15.49 and a steak taco and César salad $8.99. All the steaks were cooked absolutely perfect, tender and seasoned perfectly. Now what you don't want with a $200 bill. We walked into a half full(or empty) restaurant, tell the hostess a table for 5 and she hands me a beeper. I look at her and look at the seats and look back at her. Ok, I'm waiting for an explanation. She says they are waiting for more waitress staff to come in. Now it is an hour and fifteen minutes after they opened. Its January 2, every restaurant between here and L.A. is packed! Weren't expecting customers? Two minutes after we got there, a line out the door formed. Now we get seated after about 20minutes and we give our drink order and a Blooming Onion$8.49. The onion comes out WAY smaller than I remember and slightly burnt, along with some awesome fresh bread but still no drinks. The waitress says, only one bartender to fill orders from customers that went straight to bar and the table orders. One tip, don't order the specialty drinks, its just a way for them to sell very expensive ice. So now after a reasonable amount of time, a food runner brings two of the five Entrées. After literally five minutes we wave over the waitress and she runs to find out, while she's gone here comes the food runner with the other three..... with 6 glasses of ice and they aren't even for our table! He stopped with our food to get ice water for other tables! The manager came over to apologize ( we didn't complain, the waitress went to her). Fine all is well but not even a discount or a free dessert (which I wouldn't have complained. ) None of this was our waitress's fault at all, she was a sweetheart and was very courteous and very attentive. My 4 stars are for the steaks and service, I'd give 2 stars for management. I just read the other reviews after I posted mine. I have come to the conclusion that this outback is in a terrible need of new management. I have never seen so many of the same problems I have incurred. And its over at least two years! TL;DR Bad food, worse service. To go server can't be bothered to do her job, also lies about the kitchen being slow, can't be bothered to read my ticket to get my order right, got bacon when I left it off my order, got no silverware even though I asked for it when I ordered. The grain of the steak ran in so many different directions that I was barely able to eat half or less. It would have made great hamburger, but I wouldn't consider it to be edible served as a steak. I ordered a steak to go. I arrived when my online order said that my order would be ready. I drove through the pickup roundabout and followed the instructions on the signs there to park in the to go parking behind the restaurant. I waited around but never received a text telling me that my order was ready, even though the parking lot appeared to be empty, and I didn't see anyone else there picking up any orders. After several minutes of waiting, probably about 8 to 10 minutes past my pickup time, with no text telling me that my order was almost ready, I called the restaurant. No one picked up in the to go area, so it seemed like I was connected to the hostess station, or possibly the bartender. I told them that I was there to get my order, and the girl who answered the phone told me that she would let the pick up area know. I waited for about another 10 minutes and called back, since nothing seemed to be happening. This time, the to go person answered. I asked if there was a problem with my order, and if they had forgotten to cook my food, or something. The server from the to go area told me that, "The kitchen has been extremely slow, and I'm the only one packing to go orders." That didn't seem right to me. She also told me to pull around to the roundabout and that she would get my order ready and get it out to me. After several more minutes of waiting, she eventually brought my food out. To make matters worse, it looked like, somehow, I had gotten the the smallest baked potato in the entire restaurant. The steak that I received seemed to have the grain running in several different directions, and seemed like it would have been better suited to be cut up as stew beef, or ground up as hamburger. The grain was so messed up that it was nearly inedible. I was only able to eat about a third to a half of it. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, since I had a feeling that the server was lying about the slow service being due to the kitchen being slow, and her being so busy due to being the only one packing orders, because there didn't seem to be hardly anyone else there. It turns out that there were only two tables on the inside with customers. There was no one else in the pickup area until a car pulled up behind me just before my food was brought out. I suspect that the person filling the to go orders was too busy on her phone to actually do her job. Pretty much all service in Gaffney restaurants is horrible, but being ignored for such a long time is probably some of the worst service I've had in this town in a long time. My baked potato toppings were also wrong, as it included bacon along with the cheese, sour cream, and butter when I ordered no bacon. I also didn't receive any silverware, even though I requested it when I ordered. The service was not great the last time I ordered to go from here either, but it's gotten worse. They can't even be bothered to read the tickets, because last time I got bread when I left it off my order, and there was bacon in my cheese then, too. As I was driving down the street with my order on my way home, I finally received a text from the automated system telling me that my order was almost ready. I guess that the to go person finally initiated whatever action causes that text to be sent after I called twice and waited without any service or interaction at all. read more

We ate at this Outback last weekend for a Valentines Dinner. My husband's steak was overcooked. I ordered Parmesan Crust on my steak, but what I got was a pile of uncooked breadcrumbs on top of it. It took about 20 minutes for my husband to get another steak. Service was very slow. At the end of the meal the manager took care of our bill and gave us a gift card to return and try it again. We returned today at 3:00 in the afternoon. We were told there would be a 25-30 minute wait because they did not have enough servers. There were so many tables empty, but their current wait staff could not handle more customers?? Who is running a business that can't schedule enough wait staff on a Saturday? Outback in general rates an average three stars. This location rates a bit lower than the typical. I tried this location as I was staying in a hotel quite close to the location. It's among the outlet stores. I was dining alone and selected a table by the bar. The bartender came over a few minutes after sitting down. I ordered a draft which tasted water down and a bit funky. In looking around its those little things you notice. It hadn't been dusted in a long while. There were several light bulbs out. The food was microwaved average at best. The value is not genre for the price. I would suggest if you are stuck in Gaffney go to Fatz Cafe and leave Outback alone. read more

We had a horrible experience at this Gaffney outback. Everything that happened we tried to give the benefit of the doubt but it just kept getting worse -they tried to sit us in a booth after we specifically asked for a table -several of us ordered alcoholic drinks and the bartender came over to tell us they were out of the stuff to make the drinks we ordered so we decided to stick with water. Then the waitress came over to tell us she took the drinks off our tab like she was doing us a favor - several people ordered wedge salads and they came over to tell us that they "didn't have any wedge lettuce cut right now". Ummm ok do you know how easy it is to do that? So they offered us regular lettuce with wedge toppings and to remove the $1 up charge from our bill. Then we had to actually wait for our salads for well over 30-45 minutes and the lettuce was pink/old - my food was not hot -We told them we were there to celebrate my grandma's birthday and they never came to sing. -Then they left the dollar on the checks for the salads -The waitress tried to be really nice but I think she was overwhelmed and I dont think she knew the menu well. I love outback. But this trip was horrible. After walking in we got a table instantly. There was no wait or rush. We were sat got our drink order and ordered our food. I got a steak and my boyfriend got the Chicken and Shrimp pasta along with a Cheese Fries appetizer. After 15 minutes I was brought my salad. The waitress asked about the appetizer and proceeded to the back. Where she argued with the Back of the House to the point I could hear. Another 15 minutes and we receive this enormous pile of cheese fries. After another 25 minutes of waiting we received our food. The worst presentation I have ever seen. I had a medium well steak and loaded potato. My potato was plain with nothing on it (nor on side) my steak was pretty much under juices. The potato just soaking in it as well. It's like I got the resting plate for the steaks. My boyfriend had a whole chicken breast on top of his Alfredo. No one took an opportunity to even attempt to try on our dishes. Nor did we ever see management. Which I'm sure was sitting at the table directly behind us on her laptop. She never so much as flinched to help. Worst meal ever. As always the food tasted great but the service was AWFULL. just went in for a beer and some apps and left an hour and a half later. Took us 40 min to get our beer. The presentation was also bad. I got the ahi tuna which tasted great but was on a huge plate with a sparse and sad bit of "coleslaw" ( just chopped cabbage). I haven't been to an Outback Steakhouse in a while so I'm not sure if they were trying something different at this location or across the entire chain. The servers wore black shirts with jackets and the décor was a little fancier than I remember. They also seemed to revamp the menu. The changes were mostly in the appearance of the menu itself but the custom steak options were different. I tried the wood fire over the traditional spice for the steak but didn't taste a difference. The ribeye came out in a perfectly rectangular shape which was disturbing. It wasn't marbled as much as dotted with hard spots of fat. The waitress was nice but overwhelmed even though the place wasn't crowded. Our soups came out well after the main meal which was disappointing. Supposedly the place is usual crowded, especially on the weekend. I wouldn't recommend going back unless you are into Outback's menu. read more

This was the Worst and I do mean the worst experience I have ever had at an Outback restaurant. 1. The restaurant is very dirty including the bathroom.  There was food on the the floor and there was no effort to sweep up the previous meal service. 2. When we arrived (there were two of us), we were told the wait would be 30 minutes or more although there were 5 empty tables available in the restaurant. 3. Once seated, we ordered an appetizer (blooming onion), 2 hamburgers--one with a salad and one with soup. 4. The appetizer arrived first and it was burned. 5. After about 30 minutes (right now we have only received bread and the appetizer) the waitress ask us if we needed anything else.  I told her we were waiting on our food.  She said "Oh yea" and ran back to the kitchen and brought us a salad and soup.  The waitress then comes back to our table (It is now about an hour and half into this ordeal) and ask us if we saved room for dessert.   I said we are waiting on our hamburgers.   Again she ran to the kitchen to check on our order. 6. Now we get our hamburgers which are ruined.  They are dry and cold.  Must have been sitting in the kitchen this whole time.    Over 2 hours have now passed. 7. I paid the check and ask to speak to the manager.   He would not talk to us because they said he was busy.  He sent some one else out to speak to us. read more
