Obviously people don't use Yelp that like to leave positive reviews? Google is right at 4 stars and that is more accurate! Helping these guys out! So, I visited this location about a month ago. I am only in the area when visiting the outlets. I grew up loving Outback and use to visit it weekly when I was younger. Now, it's maybe a couple times a year. I feel like as a company they have declined but then again maybe other restaurants got better and maybe my taste have changed. Ok, ok...to the review. My food was surprisingly great. We started with the wings and they were great! My salad was great and my steak was seasoned and cooked great. Overall our service was great but they did struggle getting me a soda water. I blame the bar as I guess that is the only place she could get the soda water from and I assume she was busy at the bar... regardless the food was good, the bread was great and overall just a really good experience. 2.9 is a slap in the face to this restaurant and it should be closer to its Google rating. (3/25/23) I'm meeting my brother in law in Gaffney at Outback Steakhouse. I haven't been to Outback in ages, but there are a few things about it that never change. First off it's a friendly place to eat. Next are the rolls. I love the rolls. I could've eaten them and nothing else. They're also good value for the money. My brother in law and I ate everything that are wives have forbidden us from eating and we enjoyed ourselves. We both had burgers with fries and sweet tea, along with the rolls. This is the worst OUTBACK we have ever eaten in. We both had the 3-course meal. I ordered the burger with nothing but cheese , mayo and mustard. When it came out it had everything except mayo and mustard. The third course was supposed to be cheesecake but out waitress said "I'm sorry we're out of Cheesecake ". They asked if we would like the brownie w/ice cream instead. We said that would be fine. When it was finally brought out the ice cream was totally melted. I ate part of the soggy brownie but my husband ate none of his. When we were ready to pay I noticed that they had charged for both desserts which were supposed to be included in the price of the meal. She said she would get the manager to remove the charges. Traveling through Spartanburg, SC.. ... we stayed at a Campground in Gaffney, SC. We decided to go out for dinner... Outback Steakhouse was across the Highway !! Yeaaaaa !! One of our favorite Steakhouses and they didn't let us down. It's 4:30 on a Saturday..., they were quite busy for a small town. We stepped inside and was greeted by a friendly Hostess. A couple of people were waiting to be seated at tables, we passed them and said we're going to sit at the bar. We were greeted immediately by Victoria, with a warm smile. She got our drinks (nice pour on the vodka/tonic, by the way ) and we munched on their warm, sweet, honey wheat bread. as we viewed the menu. We overheard the kitchen was short staffed, wait time was longer than usual and some meals weren't cooked as ordered. We were concerned. But then, Tiffany stopped by with another warm smile and took our order. My husband ordered the 15 oz Ribeye, (very rare.... Actually, he likes it to "moo" ) with a loaded baked potato and Caesar salad. His steak came perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the 8oz Center cut Sirloin, med-rare, with a side baked potato and Caesar salad. My steak was also seasoned very well, very tender and cooked to perfect temp. We were hungry and I forgot to take pictures. . And, our meals were served within a very reasonable time. We had no complaints. Would highly suggest stopping in Gaffney for a meal. Possibly the worst service I have ever had. We scheduled online for a table and was seated immediately when we arrived. 45 minutes after sitting down at the table we get our drinks and salads. One salad didn't have dressing with it when we received it. After we finished the salads the empty bowls sat on the edge of the table along with our empty drinks for about 30 minutes. Finally about an hour and a half after being seated we get our food. One steak and one chicken breast. The chicken breast was about the size of a McDonald's chicken nugget. I ask for a manager at this point and he then paid for our meal. The food was great even though the service was terrible. Huge thank you to the manager who helped last night. We weren't the only table who was disappointed with the service. They had tables leave and I believe the table behind us also had their meal paid for because of the service. Great food! We were in the area for work and decided to have Linner (Lunch + Dinner). There was really no one at 4:30pm. So, getting seated was quick. We had the fried chicken and wings. Both were good. We had a few beers as the beer selection was decent. Service was decent. The only issue was not getting the two waters we asked for. We have gone here about 4 times in the past two months and every time we do it's the same. Very poor service and something is always wrong with the food. I do not recommend! We will make the drive to the one in Gastonia instead. There was only a few people in the place when we got there and took 15-20 min to get our drinks (waters). Bread was "cooking" and after she brought it out (after our meal got served) she says they don't have butter. We noticed as we where leaving that two other tables had it on their tables and they were served after us. So we didn't have butter for bread or baked potato. read more

Recently went shopping at the mall and decided to eat at Outback as it's been a while since I've had a blooming onion. Yum! I was thoroughly impressed by the service; the food and drinks were "chef's kiss", and the staff were quick to get anything I needed and so friendly. One of the managers, Kelley, even came by to check on me and make sure everything was to my liking. I'm so glad she did so I could compliment her staff and also got a great conversation and laugh out of talking to her. How lucky to have a manager like Kelley! I cannot say enough about how amazing my experience eating here was. I felt so taken care of that any of my stresses from the day just went away. I came for the blooming onion but will be coming back for so much more.. the people, the food, the vibe! If you're looking for recommendations: The Blueberry Lavender Lemonade is the right amount of refreshing, sweet, and a little boozy. The Bloomin' Onion is a must!! The Ribeye (medium rare for me) was so tender and full of flavor; best steak I've had in a while! Daughter is a student nearby and chose this after a competition. We put our names on the wait list and because their lobby is closed for waiting and it was cold outside, we waited in our car. They took our cell number and told us they would text us. We did not receive a text after waiting 25 min (was told 20) so wife went in to check. The hostess said she tried to text us but she had the wrong number written down. The short young hostess that was totally not into working that day because her personality was almost labored. She was not very welcoming and it was an omen for the way the rest of the experience there was going to be. Sat us down and we waited for another 20 min without anyone checking on us or even bring water or bread. Once again wife had to flag someone down. They said there was a mix up with the way they seated and certain staff not knowing they received a table in another section. The lady my wife flagged down finally took our drink order and Bloomington onion order. She said that she was sure that they would comp the onion and that a manager would be by to apologize. We finally met our waiter who brought our drinks and came to explain the mixup. We never received bread the entire night and after getting our salads we asked about the blooming onion and was told that they did not have any onions left. How in the world do you run out of your signature appetizer on a Friday night? They never even offered to get us anything else, they just said they forgot to let us know that they were out of bloomin onions. They also never offered or brought us any bread. The least you could do after having us wait for 20 minutes at the table was bring us some bread. I wish I had looked at the other reviews before going here because it doesn't seem to be a one time accident. You would think that with less tables available to work due to COVID, that they would have their stuff straight but they almost seemed like I should be the one grateful to be seated there.
