Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and seemed like she knew most of the people at her tables. We happened to be here when they have $7 bourbon mixers with good bourbon and they were not at all watered down. The food was delicious- we started with toasted ravioli and stuffed mushrooms and it was a great way to start. I wanted to try the fish tacos as that's normally my go-to, but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat them all after the appetizers, so went with the steak quesadilla, which had a ton of cheese and chopped steak so you got some in every bite. I will definitely be back to try the fish tacos!

Inside was pretty empty, we were there on a Thurs night and it seemed like mostly a few other corporate groups and regulars. There's a room with slot machines which I thought was interesting. Quick service, large portions and food came out fast. 4/5 chicken caldo soup - spicy but really flavorful 2/5 wings - dry rub was a bit too dry for their liking 3/5 friend got a salad with poppyseed dressing but didn't end up using the dressing as it had a bit of a strange consistency for her. She said it was okay tho. 3.5/5 ultimate grilled cheese, added a burger patty medium and red onions. The burger was good but cooked more medium well. Waffle fries generous but didn't care much for the ranch. 3.5/5 jambalaya - friends enjoyed it and the serving was large. 4/5 bread pudding was tasty and so was the ice cream. Service was great and it was just what we needed to get us some extra food. Menu was extensive and she indicated all was made fresh. Not necessarily food I'd crave & seek out if I was back in the area but it was pleasantly surprising and exactly what we needed!

As we sat down, I received a call from a major touring group who needed some help with their Hammond Organ. How long was the call? Wife and the Lads ordered their food and were half-done with it by the time I returned. Grrrrrrrrrr..... All three had ordered Smash Burgers and said they were quite good. When I finally got the chance to rejoin my Family, I looked at the menu and figured the Cold Cut Combo Sandwich would be the fastest and easiest. I ordered it with Truffle Fries. The Sandwich was actually very good, and the Truffle Fries were some of the best I ever had. The sando was Mortadell' and Sopressata. Good quality, too. Not supermarket crap. With a giardinera aioli. What's not to like? Good things come to those who wait, n'est ce pas? I ordered a Windbreaker Ale, and it was a hoppy delight. Worked real well with the sandwich and fries. Service was fine. This place is a definite cruise from Stately Breakwind Manor, so I don't know if it will be in regular rotation. It's also a bit pricy, but whaddya 'spect? it's almost adjacent to O'hare and in an "entertainment district". The menu is all familiar stuff, they're not re-inventing the wheel. But they coulda gone cheap on a "Cold Cut Combo", and they didn't, so that's a green flag the rest of the Carte is worth eating. Betcha the Pizzas rock...

As I refuse to pay extra for sports channel subscriptions over my basic Comcast cable TV package, I didn't have TBS for this particular game or series, and decided to come here hopeful of watching a festive home field series clinching celebration on this night. It was a festive and fun and tense night, and I had a blast until things fell apart in the 6th inning. Beacon Tap has a great reputation as a good and long standing local sports bar and it lived up to it. In fact, I learned that on Bears football Sundays, you need to reserve a spot here as it's so packed, you can't just walk in and watch a game. I sat at the bar and ended up having a couple of delectable Maplewood Son of Juice IPA drafts (at a reasonable $7.25 apiece) and had a blast with fellow fans, two of whom were regulars here. Tim was the fine and attentive bartender and he kept the beers flowing and it was a packed bar and dining room as expected. I left after the 6th inning when the game was decided and the Sox eventually lost 9-5. It would have been so cool to celebrate a major sports win in a sports bar along with the comaraderie, something I've never experienced, but alas, it will probably have to be in another life, ugh. Come to think of it, I have been at a winning major championship game, the Bears' 1985 NFC championship game when they beat the Rams 24-0 at Soldier Field, but being at a rowdy sports bar is indeed another thing. They have a quite nice beer list, and the usual pub food offerings. I learned that their popular 1/2 price pizza night is Tuesdays. They have a big parking lot to handle their big weekend crowds. I'm a big fan of this place, and will look to return again some day for a good time.

Kings is a pretty large facility with games (notably bowling) along with food and beverage service. We sat at the bar, and a World Cup soccer match was broadcast on several large screens. Our kind server Derrion pointed out some of their specials, so we went with that sales pitch and ordered a couple of beers and apps. The pork dumplings were not one of the specials, but I liked them a bit better than the discounted items that we ordered. The nacho platter featured shredded pork, and we asked for the jalapenos on the side. We split the smashburger, which was served with waffle fries. The beers were cold and refreshing, as were the cups of water.

Food was brought out and just okay. My faves were the buffalo wontons, avocado crostini and Korean bbq meatballs. Hot honey chicken sliders were okay. I'd pass on the meatball sandwich and sliders. The food was not hot so that impacted my experience. Not sure if these were special menu items though. Had a fun time bowling and wish we had one at home!
