Irving's Banquet Hall is a nice venue located in Marlow Heights…read more You could easily pass this by and wouldn't know it even existed unless you were invited to a gathering/event that was held here! Once you step inside, there are 2 main areas - the first space could be set up for a DJ/musician, as there is a semi-large dance floor. In the next space, the ceilings are high and it's large and spacious for a sit-down gathering - there were tables that could seat at least 6-8 people, but with still plenty of room to move around. I really liked the different sparkly tiles and the chandeliers! Towards the back, you can have a mini buffet, or you can set up a catered area against the wall. Restrooms were also centrally located and easily accessible. Staff were on site to ensure that the lighting and the music had no issues. Located in a small strip plaza, there's plenty of parking in the shared lot. +dance floor/dining venue +plentiful parking in shared plaza lot

Good lighting inside. Tables and chairs are included in the cost of the room rental. On the day I arrived - the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. As soon as I pulled up to unload my car - I was offered help. The guy brought a dolley to my car so I could easily transport the decorations to the room. Con: I called to request early arrival to set-up two weeks in advance but was told no early set up are not allowed. Unless the person booking the room pays extra. The guy was very mean and had an attitude. I was just inquiring so I could plan to arrive early. Baby shower started at 3:30 so I only had one hour to unload my car, set-up, and blow up balloons. This isn't enough time to allow a person. I think your staff could rethink the policy to allow folks in early to set-up. And not charge an additional fee. Other than that one hiccup - the shower turned out nicely. And the day of the event, the staff was friendly and nice.

I recently threw a baby shower for my friend at the Legacy space…read more Overall: I give 3 stars because of the unprofessionalism of the owners due to bad communication. The owners themselves and the employees weren't on the same page about what was communicated to me. I will say they were never disrespectful. The only reason positive reasons they got 3 stars is the space is decent and the main employee I dealt with (younger and light skinned) made things happen and picked up the pieces after the miscommunications. All in all the event went well but I'm glad the young lady was there to make things happen. Details: There were multiple points of miscommunication or misinformation between owners and it was clear they weren't on the same page. We were literally told one thing from someone then told the total opposite from another employee/owner. Early on the miscommunication was things I could get over or work through. For example, I called on a Thursday to come and get measurements of the space since they weren't on the website. I was told I had to set the appointment a day in advance but not on a Friday thru Sundays. That's strange because the first time I ever saw the venue with the mom to be was on a Saturday. Another time I came by to test my potential layout. I called the day before I wanted to come by but was then told I couldn't come see the space later than 4p on weekdays. The person then offered for me to come see it the next day, a Friday (which I was previously told I couldn't). I didn't rebut and chose a different day. Another example of misinformation/miscommunication was when we first booked, we were told we could move anything in the room around as long as it stayed in the room. Then upon submitting our custom layout through their portal (which was convenient to input information) we received feedback through email that we couldn't move the blue captains chairs that are near the couch as shown on our layout. Looking beyond the pettiness of telling us we couldn't move chairs, we pressed on. Upon arriving the day of the shower, we were told by employee that we never sent our layout so they didn't have tables set up. So that same layout they commented on, you didn't receive? I restrained myself from getting angry and focused on bringing the rest of our decor inside while they set up the room. Luckily I had a printed copy of the layout to provide. And as per usual the young lady who had been there many times before simply put the set up and made it happen. They also disinfected the tables, which I appreciated that. However, it shouldn't have been an issue if the employees and owners were on the same page. The only other thing I didn't care for was how certain items in the room could not be taken out which made it difficult planning the layout. However, we made it work. The space is definitely set up more for meeting space vice a party in my opinion, especially with Covid and needed to space people out. The space was nicely decorated and I was glad they included tables in the rentals. Our event went off that day without any other issues. The young lady also gave us a few extra minutes to clear the room, which I appreciated. The room was pretty hot since it was about 70 degrees outside. We ended up bringing in fans last minute since the air wasn't cooling off the room with the 25 or so people that were in there. If I wasn't on a time crunch to pick a location that was decent looking and decently priced, I would have found a different venue after the first miscommunication I noticed between the owners (that I did not mention). However, we got the basics of what we wanted but it definitely really frustrating at times.
