I have been a regular with Out-U-Go for a few years with two different cats and they have always been reliable, friendly, and caring. The updates with a photos at each visit are appreciated so I know exactly when they were there and how it went. My cats (both from shelters) can be a bit challenging, and they were fed, freshly watered, given treats, litter cleaned, played with and affectionately petted. They've been able to adapt to new instructions about kitty care between visits. They worked with me a few times about my keys - home security is important! The payment software doesn't allow for tips so I'm not sure what the dog owners are doing or what's expected? Overall, the updates come from people who love what they do, reassurance when I'm away and miss my kitty! read more

I am a new kitty parent, and I had terrible guilt about leaving my favorite furry baby alone for a couple days. My kitten Preston is extremely social and loves people -- in fact he tries to leave with anyone who comes into the apartment! I knew that leaving him alone with no cuddles for a couple of days would make him so, so sad, so I started doing research into cat sitters in the area. I came across Out-U-Go and their sterling reviews and set up my free meet-and-greet to see how I felt about it. Lisa was great, making me feel a lot more comfortable about having someone come into my home and take care of my kitty. Preston of course loved her, and I was able to show her everything around the apartment. I liked that she made me feel normal for being a little nervous and a bit of a crazy cat lady in terms of my directions for the pet sitter. While we were out of town, I did had some moments of anxiety -- WHAT IF THEY FORGET?? -- But the texts I got from the pet sitter made me feel so much better. Then when I got home, seeing the report cards made me so happy! They were so cute and she had written down things that Preston did that totally sounded like him and made me feel like she really gave him the attention he wanted (demanded?!). Scheduling and communicating with the company is very easy, as is billing. I'll definitely use Out-U-Go next time I'm out of town, even though Preston says I should just stay home all the time forever and ever! read more

I am forever grateful for OUG. We have two dogs with special needs, so we are very hesitant to leave them in the care of just anyone and kennel boarding is definitely not an option. Lisa and her staff have gone above and beyond to make sure my pups see the same friendly faces, because one of the dogs is nervous around strangers. The one time they weren't able to schedule a familiar face, I was contacted in advance to discuss this change. Each time we have used their services, we have come home to two relaxed and happy dogs -- this is a huge weight off of my shoulders. We've had a couple of instances where we have had family emergencies, and they've always been quick to respond with a last-minute visit. They've also been gracious about cancellations when our plans fall through. Online scheduling is quick and painless, and they always follow through with confirming details and asking for clarifications if needed. Billing is a breeze. They are always prompt with an itemized invoice prior to the automatic withdrawal and they never charge you for services in advance. We've had a great experience with Lisa and the team at Out U Go. Our 18 year old cat receives his daily medication and love from the staff. I enjoy reading the daily reports they leave for us. We used to rely on neighbors for cat sitting and now only make arrangements with OUG. They feed, medicate, water, give love and clean the litter boxes every day. They even bring in the mail and will do other things around the house if you need it. Honestly, our cat probably prefers OUG's reliability to ours! We've arranged for cat sitting in advance and at last minute and never had a problem. Lisa even helped us tremendously by mailing an important package to us that we needed during a vacation. We couldn't have felt more confident leaving our two cats in the care of Out-U-Go. Due to a family emergency we had only a few days to make arrangements while we were gone from what turned out to be 6 weeks. Even though it was her day off, Lisa came to our place to meet the very shy duo to understand their needs and peculiarities (all cats have them!). Arrangements to provide services every other day worked out perfectly and while the felines remained in hiding, it was clear by their feeding bowls and litter boxes that they were thriving. Joy, Jessi, Jenny and others sent a text every time they were there and occasional photos of their bowls. Out-U-Go staff took care of the trash and notified us immediately after noticing a water leak in the living room ceiling. Had they not notified us, we would have returned to an absolute mess and damage to our brand new sofa. I've used them I think four times now. Things I like about them include that they text and write a written summary card for you every time they visit (the text messages are optional, but I love them). The summary cards are fun and spunky (as other reviews have mentioned). The price is good, and mostly affordable - pets are just expensive. They don't ask for payment until after they have performed the services. I also like how flexible they are - let them know a week ahead of time that you need their services (maybe more around holidays), and they will make it happen no problem. Finally, they are professional and nice over the phone and emails. There are two reasons I don't give them a higher rating. The first reason is that one time I also asked them to water my plants on Wednesday and Friday. I came back to find all my plants dead. I looked at the summary cards and it turns out they watered the plants on Tuesday and Wednesday, so no wonder the plants died when I got back on Sunday. The cats on that visit were also way over fed, but I've since started freezing baggies of food for them with the right amount of food, and we haven't had the overfeeding problem ever again, so I'm not really counting that against them. The biggest problem, though, was when I left them in charge of my two cats for the first time for a full week (I had let them care for them for a weekend previously). On the first day that they were scheduled to visit between 7:30am and 9:30am, I started to panic at 10:30 that I hadn't gotten a text message. One of my cats has been to urgent care over ten times for eating inanimate objects (such as strings), and although we try to keep all strings away from him, the best solution is to not let him get too hungry, so he needs to be fed on time. By 11AM I called their emergency helpline and emailed them to say I needed someone to visit the cats. My noon I had received a text message about a successful visit. A similar problem happened the very next day where I didn't get a text until 11AM. Monday morning the woman in charge of my account called me and we had a conversation about the issue. They told me that the 7-9am slot was the first time the dogs got to go out to pee in the morning, so their visitors were busy letting dogs out to pee, which apparently was more important than looking after my cats. I told them that if that was the case, then they should transition to visiting my cats 4pm-6pm. They said that they would make the 7:30-9:30 time slot work, and they have made it work. I usually get the text message around 9-10am, which is great. I haven't had any issues since then, and all my experiences have been mostly good. So, my suggestion is that if you have a reliable/trustworthy friend, the friend would be best to look after your cats, but otherwise you can use Out-U-Go and just be sure to communicate carefully with them about the time. Also, have a friend water your plants. read more

I was so pleased with Out-U-Go. I contacted Lisa to housesit my dog and cat while I was out of town. I find it easier to have my pets stay in my home together. She was prompt to respond to my requests and questions via email. She came to meet the pets, myself and get the lay of the land. She is very professional and friendly. My pets (and I) warmed to her immediately. I felt very comfortable with her staying and caring for them in my home. She sent updates while I was gone. I was in a bind after a rough first day at doggy day care, so I called an hour after out U go closed, hoping for a miracle (but not expecting to hear back). Lisa called and emailed me back later that night, and agreed to walk my puppy the very next day. She was extremely friendly and so helpful, and I can't believe how quickly she responded. My sweet pup Blue was well taken care of while I was at work. I came home to a happy puppy, no messes, and I even got a report card for the day. My dog loved Out U Go! I was skeptical at first, hiring someone I didn't know to come house sit with my dog. But Out U Go is extremely professional and their multiple house visits/meet and greets put you at ease quickly. Kim stayed with my dog two weeks in a row and my dog has multiple medications that need to be timed out appropriately, mixed in with food, or given as a tablet (so not an easy task), and Kim kept track of the meds and gave them with such ease, it was such a relief to have her with my dog for the two weeks. I got multiple updates with pictures each day I was gone and my dog looked so happy. When I returned, my apartment was also spotless as she had cleaned my entire apartment. My dog had never been so happy to see someone that wasn't me and was actually legitimately sad when she left. I will say, they are on the more expensive side, but with how well they took care of my dog and cleaned my apartment, it was worth every penny. read more

Lisa, the Top Dog and all of the Madison walkers/office employees are always so amenable to my schedule. We have a set weekly schedule but when and if something comes up, there is absolutely no problem with making a change, even if it's last minute. And above all else, they love my dog. There are few things that can compare to that. Whenever we see Kira, her daily walker, outside of the house, she LOSES HER MIND! She is so excited to see her! It's like her dream has come true. Like others posting very positive reviews here, I can't speak highly enough of OUG and of the kind attention Lisa and her team are providing for our very elderly dog. The daily reports help us gauge the best time for M to go out, and sitters have offered great suggestions about how to manage accidents and how to maximize M's comfort. They really care about her. Timely and clear communication with Lisa about plans and care is really great - I feel like we're part of a professional treatment team, which gives *me* comfort about how best to care for our old friend. OUG also visits with our other pets - and along the way, sitters have taught our younger dog how to nicely return a fetched ball and how to take treats very politely. (Teaching good manners is such a bonus!) The text messages with photos of M enjoying her time outdoors are also really precious - we don't have a lot of time left with her, so those moments matter. I really appreciate the convenience of setting up appointments online, and the timely confirmation for scheduling. Overall, OUG is a really professional operation. The initial meeting with Lisa was great: she took meticulous notes about how we like to do things for our animals in our home, things we were worried about and really care about, and that really reassured me that we wouldn't have any surprises.
