I get the bus at the Greyhound station Downtown and take it to Union Street in Downtown Olean for $10.75. Sure, the handful of stops along the way, principally along Rt. 16, make it considerably slower than driving, but that's taking the bus for you. It's comfy and has adjustable seats and an overhead area for small luggage as well as a storage compartment underneath for checked bags, bicycles, or whatever else. Minuses: the bus is so filthy in winter that you cannot see out of the windows; it's often late; the bus driver seems indifferent to the fact that people sometimes smoke in the back; drivers take cash only and usually do not carry change. Moral of the story: you get what you pay for. I find this route a useful option when I'm spending a few days near my job and want to leave the car with the spouse. It barely costs more than gas, so some sacrifices will be expected. Bus on weekdays leaves Downtown at 7:30 AM, 1 PM, 6:30 PM. Returns from Olean at 5:15 AM, 10:15 AM, and 3:30 PM, so you're out of luck northbound if you need something in the evening.

The bus late picking us up due to traffic but Shahz made it up to us with plenty of time at the Falls - 3.5 hours to account for how busy it was. The maple syrup stop was great, and though we only opted for the boat ride and not the lunch, there were plenty of spots to eat on our own. One thing to note - if you plan to do Journey to the Falls but that ticket as soon as you arrive - it was over two hours of waiting when we tried to which wasn't possible given our time window. All in all, highly recommend this experience - and hope you get Shahz!
