Not a fan of this place, I went inside with my wife she was the only woman in the place apart from the waitress. On the side of the building, customers were smoking pot and doing other stuff inside was full of drunken idiots the service was horrible. We waited 45 minutes for the waitress to come to the table and the food was not so good. It's a very small place and they had a band playing that thought they were playing in an arena. They played so loud Drunken man try to pull my wife out of her chair, forcing her to dance. When I stood up and got in his face. Wild to pull up your fav local haunt on Yelp and see yourself doing karaoke as the featured pic. lol. Anyway, as you may have guessed from my preamble, I'm a regular at Our Place. My husband and I love to sing karaoke and they have it three nights a week with Alex on Sundays and Mondays, and John on Wednesdays. Sound is great and the karaoke hosts are awesome. The owner, Cliff, is a super cool and hard-working dude. It's super common to see him making drinks and serving food right alongside the rest of his stellar staff. He's also constantly thinking of ways to innovate the menu and their entertainment offerings. In a given week you can find karaoke, stand up comedy, live bands, trivia, drag queen bingo, etc. Literally something for everyone. Speaking of the menu, the food here is sooo good. Their standard bar food is great, but they also take it to the next level with things like "smoked chicken taquitos which are totally homemade and hand rolled in house and birria flatbread. If you make it in on a weekend morning don't miss their breakfast. Had a Cuban Eggs Benedict last week that really hit the spot. I also tend to hit this place to watch football on Sundays (go Niners!) I see the mixed reviews for this location. I've been here before when it was a different name, with a different owner, different menu and different decor. I was especially glad to see the interior design remodel - the current restaurant layout is open, clean and modern looking, and easy to see spots to choose to be seated at when you open. There are windows and natural light also here. The staff here are professional and curt - and are fast, which is always appreciated. You'll have a slightly faster time ordering beer or wine. Service is great, even if it's not always with a smile. The food is really impressive for a local neighborhood bar. They have an incredible amount of favorites here, including ceviche, burgers, tacos, and fish and chips. No one cuisine is featured, rather instead a mix of bar food from around the world. There is live music on some nights, and a jukebox available also. Parking is free. read more

I went here to kill time with my brother. The Bartender was super busy and understaff. Naturally she appeared agitated, anxious, and bitchy. She kept taking shots and slammed everything she got her hands on including beers and drinks. The drinks she made were very bad and were not worth the money. Welcoming neighborhood bar with generous drinks and great food! The whole menu is really good and all the dishes taste homemade. The burger and the stroganoff are top notch and are my current faves, although on Fridays you also can't go wrong with the fish and chips - the fish is moist and delicious and not at all fishy. Just got home from Sugarmill Slim, compelled to write a review of the band and Our Place. In a word...PHENOMENAL!!! Liv, the waitress is just the best. She remembers our name and pours the best drinks. She introduced us to the owner, Clifford, and we just had to compliment him on his choice of bands, not just tonight, but regularly he has unbelievable live music. But tonight was special! Never having heard of Sugarmill Slim we went there to check it out and were blown away. Blues and blues rock, with outstanding vocals and harmonica like you've never heard it before. They are going to be back at Our Place on February 24th (just prior to beginning their European tour). Don't miss it! read more

I can't say enough about Our Place. It has become a regular place to hang out, have good food, good drinks and a good time. The ambiance is low key and every employee is friendly and helpful. They get busy on days where they have special events so you need to get there early. They have 5 TVs where you can enjoy sports, karaoke or just whatever is going on at the time. They have trivia night, bingo, Cornhole competitions, karaoke and holiday parties. One thing I have to mention is the FOOD!! For a small and unassuming bar you wouldn't expect the food to be above average but you'd be wrong. We've tried the stroganoff, sliders, tacos, all kinds of sides and salads. The sweet potato fries are something special. But the burgers....the burgers are always big, juicy and cooked perfectly. They have special menu items all the time as well as holiday drinks and shots. The owner Cliff is a really friendly guy who always makes sure things are running smoothly and everyone is having a good time and Brandy is the perfect balance of work hard/play hard! We went for a Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras celebration, which is hard to find in Orange County and they had a shrimp boil. We've also been for St Patty's day and their menu was delicious. We've been during the Halloween and Christmas seasons and they always have seasonal shots that are tasty & fun to drink. For what you get, the prices are great!! I almost don't want to leave this review so you all don't come and crowd our spot but it's really worth a visit. My sense is the ownership of this place has changed hands. Read on: The past couple of times have been a disappointment. Tonight was the final straw. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer ($13.95) to be followed up by fish taco combo entrees. The server delivered the entrees within about a minute or so of the Calamari, apologized, and told us the kitchen just put them both out. Nope. We saw the Calamari sitting on the hot plate station for a about 10 minutes while various staff passed it right by. It was cold when it finally hit the table, and we didn't bother with it. It would have been piping hot if, as our server claimed, the chef actually put it and the entrees out at the same time. In any event, serving entrees on top of an "appetizer" is never a good move. You are doing it wrong when this happens. The entrees were so-so. The final insult when our server asked us if we wanted to box up to go the Calamari that sat virtually untouched despite us having previously informed her it was served cold. We closed out and moved on as fast as we could to make the most of what was left of our night. This place cries out for effective management. read more

I love the food and the staff. I can spend hours chatting with Heather and Crystal as well as the other patrons. Our Place has regulars for a reason. I've been to places where they treat visitors like crap, Our Place is not that type of place. There will always be people who have little to nothing nice to say. I don't give their reviews any credit because they are busy finding fault in every situation. Quest Dip with bacon on top is amazing (I requested the bacon). We also enjoy the sliders and it's the best place to get a bottle of beer in this economy. While I try to minimize my carbs, I have to say the pretzel with quest dip is a delicious cheat meal. read more

My favorite place to go. I have my own restaurant and club on main street in Huntington Beach and this is my favorite place to go hang out as a patron. I love being there with Clifford and the rest of the staff and guest! I love coming here and every time I'm there the whole place feels like one big family! I'm also grew up in Iowa and being at Our Place reminds me of being at one many bars that I grew up around there. It's just a great vibe and atmosphere overall. I came out during the Super Bowl and the ribs were hands down the best ribs that I'd ever had in California. During there shrimp boil the food and energy in the room was phenomenal. Like I said I have my own place in Huntington Beach and I can go pretty much anywhere and everybody knows who I am down there, but a lot of those places their only nice to me because of who I am However Our Place is my favorite place of them all and the only place that I go when I'm not working. It's the place where I can go and just be another Joe and meet amazing genuine authentic people and feel like I'm back home in Iowa and I find that incredibly valuable especially because I'm constantly surrounded by people who want something for me. I popped in here for lunch and ordered the Italian sandwich special. Sandwich is 10 bucks and you can add a side of fries for an additional four dollars. I wasn't hungry so I only went for the sandwich and it was very tasty. This seems like a local bar and lunch hangout spot.
