As I was in the area, I decided to go there for breakfast and try out this bakery and Bistro. The entrance is in a red brick building of which outside before entering, there is some outdoor furniture to be able to sit and enjoy your meals in the outdoors. When I arrived, this area was empty, but by the time I left the outdoor area, it was full of people ordering and waiting for their food to be served. As I entered the door, one of the waitresses greeted me with a smile and took me to my table. Another waitress was putting the fresh bread on their shelves and receiving some of the pastries and other items. I ordered a cup of coffee to drink and the steak and eggs for breakfast. The steak cooked medium rare, and the eggs fried over easy. This came with roasted potatoes, hollandaise sauce, and a choice of toast. I also ordered a side of bacon. While I waited for the food to arrive, I drank my coffee and looked around at the place. It had large cooler displays with cakes and desserts. The restaurant had gold painted walls with wood accents and hardwood floors and was mainly decorated with different framed photographs with beautiful scenes from around the world. A group of women came in and were seated at another table. A lady came in and made an order to go and sat waiting for it. And two young ladies came in and were taken to another table. They all seemed like locals enjoying the distinguished yet simple decor of the place. My food arrived and it was cooked as ordered. The steak was two pieces of very tender meat that even though they looked small, they more than filled me up with the two fried eggs over easy and the potatoes and toast. Of course, during my breakfast, I received refills of my coffee. At the end of my breakfast, I ordered one of those delicious pastries from the glass display: the Opera. It was basically an almond cake, with coffee rum syrup, French chocolate butercream, coffee butercream, and chocolate ganache. It tasted amazingly delicious. My waitress provided excellent customer service and answered all of my questions about this restaurant and the other branches at different places. I definitely recommend this place if you want to have an extraordinary breakfast in an elegant yet simple restaurant alone or with friends. The menu has an extensive variety of choices to pick from, and the service is just wonderful.

This place was ROCKING since 2 other local breakfast spots were closed. Staff works together seamlessly. Food was quick and delicious. We sat inside but could have also sat outside and enjoyed it. Large and small parties were all well cared for. Definitely will add this to the Vinton breakfast rotation.

    Their cakes looked so nice!

Loved our lunch visit to Our Daily Bread!! The egg salad was delicious- I swapped the croissant for the focaccia bread, and I actually wish I let it on the croissant. My husband had their chicken salad and loved that, as well! We shared a piece of carrot cake for dessert since it was our 6th wedding anniversary (we had carrot cake for our wedding!) and it was also very good!! The staff was very kind, professional and attentive. Definitely recommend ODB!!

Food was great. service was great. Very reasonably priced as well. Had a lovely brunch with my gf and some friends that were visiting town. We will be leaving satisfied! Only negative comment is that our table was super wobbly but kinda in a fun way...

What a cute spot! Unlike other Daily Bread locations we came around 8:30 AM to find the restaurant not too busy! Huge plus as other locations usually require a short wait in the mornings. We were seated immediately and Brandi promptly greeted us. Sweetest gal, great personality, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict which apparently gets ordered fairly often (it was simple, yet DELICIOUS, with great poached eggs). The crab cake was perfectly cooked to match the texture of the egg, soft but still well done. My mother had a Swiss cheese, bacon omelette with pico. Also delicious. Rock and roll Brandi, she was a treat to behold, we can tell she has many regular guests here. We felt like we were part of the Daily Bread family! Will be back soon :)

Sandwich and tea were delish! A little confusing in regards to the menu but if you look online it is easy to find.

I have truly enjoyed dining in each and every one of them. But Bread Craft, located in the Star City of Roanoke, is in a class of its own. After being ranked 4th among Yelp's Top 50 Most Prolific Elites of 2025, a distinction recognizing my consistent community engagement and high-quality contributions, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants, businesses, and establishments, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to go back and write follow-up reviews on those places that impressed me the most during 2025, and Bread Craft Bakery, located in Downtown Roanoke, is the perfect example of one of them. Bread Craft is a premier, artisan European-style bakery established in 2006 by owner Alex Eliades, who besides having a passion for baking, has over 25 years of baking experience, and leads the bakery focusing on traditional slow-fermentation techniques. The bakery is known for its high-quality, scratch-made sourdough, pastries, and Croissants. It evolved from a wholesale operation into a popular 6,000 square foot café on Church Avenue, also supplying local restaurants. The bakery specializes in Franch and German-style baking, utilizing sourdough as a natural leavener. It servers breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, salads, and some creative breakfast egg entrées. They are open Wednesdays through Sundays from 8:00AM - 2:00PM and are well known for running out of items before the end of the day. For this review I visited the Bakery / Café for breakfast on two consecutive Wednesdays. The first Wednesday I arrived too late to be able to have their Chorizo & Eggs Cocotte from their Breakfast menu. Breakfast is only served until noon, and I found out about this on that day. So instead I had a Cheese Danish and a house-made Mocha Coffee. Both items were delicious. On the second Wednesday I arrived much earlier for breakfast. Luckily, right before a whole rush of customers arriving to place Take-out orders. As soon as I walked inside I immediately felt comfortable with its clean and contemporary architectural design and decor, and an exposed red brick wall that gave it a warm ambiance. One can see that the owner spent a substantial amount in renovating the place when they moved here, and that they took good care of it, because it looked as if it had just opened for the very first time yesterday. While I was looking over all the baked items they had, I received a friendly greeting and warm welcome from a lady behind the counter who seemed to be the manager and took my order. To start I ordered a Chorizo Quiche which happened to be the Quiche of the day, and a house-made Mocha Coffee. Then since I was planning to turn this into a Brunch, for my main entrée I ordered their Chorizo Cocotte from the Breakfast menu. And for dessert I had a Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant that was simply irresistible. Everything tasted amazingly delicious, especially since I love Chorizo. The Quiche had an amazing crust with the eggs inside cooked with the perfect amount of chorizo. The Chorizo Cocotte was served in an elongated bowl with two poached eggs over Spanish sausage, accompanied by three slices of freshly made Baguette. And if all this wasn't enough, the Chocolate Hazelnut Croissant was the perfect ending dessert to this fabulous put together Brunch. Oh and the coffee was the best of the best. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their food. What an outstanding dining experience I just had at Bread Craft. Wonderful ambiance, amazing food, and extraordinary customer service. I highly recommend this Bakery/Café whenever you're in the area. I'm absolutely certain it will become one of your favorites bakery.

We were only in town for a few days, but we made it our breakfast place for our entire visit. They have excellent pastries in addition to fantastic-looking bread, and great coffee. The staff were super friendly. I'll miss them!

Arriving several hours before closing, I found only a couple of loaves on sale, and a long line to get with them. I managed to snag the last one that wasn't plain white bread, and thought I'd add a slice of pizza as it looked appealing. While the ingredients were there, the little toaster oven they used barely warmed it up at all. I ate it there, but I'd suspect it would have been much better if I'd gotten it to go and cooked it properly myself. They don't open all that early on weekdays and I've struggled to make it in, and on the weekend, they struggled to meet expectations. Perhaps on a different day, they could do a better job of getting the right baked goods into my hands.

So I never thought anything about it, and never had an reason to. But today I said to myself, I have to take the road less traveled and go inside. And when I did, I discovered the best kept secret of Downtown Roanoke. A bakery that brought me back to years ago, when I visited Paris, France. With beautiful original hardwood floors and exposed red brick walls, high ceilings, and wonderful lighting treatment, the restaurant projected a warm and cozy feeling with the right ambiance to relax and have a cup of homemade coffee accompanied by a piece of freshly baked bread, bagel, or danish; or even better, the creative discovery of the Sweet & Spicy Bacon with Caramelized Onion Scrambled Egg Pizza. Which I definitely ended up ordering and enjoying with a large cup of Cafe Mocha, which was only 25 cents more than the small cup. And was one of the best Mochas that I have ever had in any coffee shop, yet along in any bakery. The solid white with tones of black marble tables and black chairs, contributed to make the ambiance of the bakery the right place in which to enjoy a breakfast none other than those I once enjoyed in Paris, France. As I enjoyed my breakfast dining experience, steady customers came in to have breakfast as well, and many others to order takeout. One even came to order a beautiful made cake which they also pride themselves of having, as well as one of my favorites, the Peanut Butter Pie. And last but not least was the young lady server behind the counter. She warmly greeted me when I arrived and answered all my questions about this quaint local business, and many of its products, which were many. And who prepared the amazing Cafe Mocha. And brought it to the table of my choice, together with the amazingly delicious, first time discovered, scrambled egg pizza. I also had an "Asiago Bagel" with Cream Cheese and a Cherry Cheese Croissant. The other employees and one that I think could have been the owner, I was able to greet with my eyes and a smile, seemed so friendly and also contributed to make me feel at home. I highly recommend this cozy Bakery Cafe who also has wraps, hot paninis, sandwiches, soups, and salads on its menu to enjoy for lunch. What an extraordinary dining experience! I will never again walk by an unknown food establishment without stopping by and walking in. For it is those who take the road less traveled who discover and enjoy the best in life.

I have lived in Blacksburg my whole life and ODB has been a go-to bakery for most locals for a while. Serving a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and offering lunch, brunch, and dinners. They have a lovely variety of options for customers to enjoy. The bakery primarily serves French pastries and caters to French cuisine at their meals. Although they offer more than just French inspired food. In the past, my family and I have enjoyed grabbing their cakes for celebrations and individual pastries from their pastries case. But recently, they have not been up to par and have left us very unsatisfied. The cakes have been dry and do not taste fresh at all. On my latest visit I tried a couple of things, all of which were cold, with dry, crumbly textures. It was evident to me that these pastries were not made day-of and had clearly sat in a fridge for at least one night (if not more). I found this to be extremely disappointing as ODB used to have a reputation of serving FRESH baked goods and pastries. I cannot attest for the hot food they serve during meal times, but the pastries and cakes have gone down hill. Over the winter break, I had their NY cheesecake bar (which I've gotten in the past and it was phenomenal) and it fell so short of what I remembered. It was lacking flavor and the crust at the bottom was dry. This past visit, I tried a Napoleon (also have had this before and really enjoyed it), a specialty cake, a scone, and a couple macarons and macaroons. The Napoleon was so cold and the puff pastry was super stale, it practically fell apart the second I tried to eat it. The specialty individual cake slice was also very cold and the cake wasn't moist at all. Again, indicating it was not fresh or made day-of. The scone was also a disappointment as it was dry and lacked any moisture. I thought the macrons and macaroons were fine though. While most of this was disappointing, the price didn't help either. Nothing was inexpensive and the quality was completely missing. So disappointing to leave this review as I used to enjoy coming here for sweet treats. It's sad to see that ODB is unfortunately not what it used to be. I will note that the service is very friendly and they do their best dealing with customers. Could have been more efficient, but I did go during a busier time. I hope they can turn things around, but until then I do not think I will be retuning soon.
