We've been to Otto 3 times, eating in once, late night at the bar another time, and last week for take-out. We were told 45 minutes on the phone, but when we came in the pizza was not ready and we were told the pizza would be 30 minutes late. Normally this would be an issue, but the manager came out towards the end of our wait time and apologized for the delay, gave us our pizza for free, and a $25 gift card for next time. Tried Otto last night for the first time with my friend and boyfriend. It was our waitress' first day so she was a little nervous but other than that the food was great -- yummy caesar salad and we tried the zucchini/summer squash/spinach pizza and also the genoa salami/tomato/scallion pizza. both pizzas were really delicious, and the crust is great. I like that they serve beer and wine. The prices were okay -- a little expensive for pizza but about the same price as Upper Crust. read more

Finally, Otto pizza has broken the curse of that location that befell previous shops that came and went (a few came to mind, including MacDonalds, Friendly, and the other mexican place that I can't even remember its name). Otto brings with it certain vibe. The decor of Otto has it right, for a casual sit-down for pizza. Seating is comfortable. Service is friendly. Prices are reasonable. We went with our two kids for lunch over weekend, ordering two small pizza, a few drinks and a beer, and a dessert to share, all for less than $65. The food is reasonable though you won't be wow'ed by it. We order the sausage with tomato sauce, and mushroom, bacon strips and union, all on thin crust. I don't enjoy the sausage pizza as much (but my son wants meat), but I like the mushroom/bacon one which is just right. Don't order lemonade though which is just sour water with 2/3 ice; the bottled soda is a dud as well. As with everything in Coolidge Corner, parking is a pain; we prefer to walk than drive/park. With Upper Crust across the street having so much trouble, it's going to lose a lot of customers to Otto. Prepare extra time before you can get to a table. read more

Went in there again with a bunch of friends and tried out the eggplant ricotta and basil pie. And boy, was it Aaa-mazing! Service was prompt and attentive as usual, even though it was super crowded. I'll first admit that I just returned home from an Italian vacation and I am very spoiled by the pizza experience there. However, Otto failed just the general aspects of pizza procurement that is palatable. This was our first time and it was take out. The crust was too chewy and became almost cardboard like as it cooled down. I think it was because they put plastic screen ( Not eco friendly ) on the bottom of the box. We ordered the white bean pizza and the cauliflower and mushroom pizza. We experienced the white bean pizza in Italy and loved that concept of beans on pizza but Otto's didn't leave me wanting more, it needed a hint of Sage and Rosemary to get the zing in an almost flavorless bean. The other pizza.... well, they need to rethink this one too. The toppings were cut to fine and the mushrooms seemed as though they were from a can. Additionally, we ordered a large and a small pizza and each were packed in the same size box. Hence, the large pizza was stuffed into the box, with its edges folded over and made a terrible presentation when the box was opened. read more

My wife and I love this place. So much in fact that we went back the following week! Tns of optins, even for those with gluten/wheat allergies. The gluten free crust is not bad at all like with other places. Only downfall is that the gluten free pizzas come in one size. Otto was an incredible addition to the neighborhood, especially considering the mediocre pizza options in the area. The pizza is A+. They always have a big handful of their specialty pies available by the slice as well as a huge variety of full pies. There's something on the menu for everyone. They even offer a gluten-free crust for those that may opt for it. Try the Masher (mashed potato, bacon, scallion -- their signature slice), or the weekend specials. One time, they had a shepards pie pizza, it was the best pizza I've ever had in my life. In addition to the pizza, they have rotating craft beer taps which is always a treat. The staff is awesome. Everyone is incredibly friendly. I've been to Otto well over a dozen times and never had a bad experience. read more

Every experience we have at OTTO is better than the last! Put it this way, we travel from Sudbury to Coolidge Corner just for this pizza. Hint, hint OTTO, we need one in the Metrowest area! The pizza is imaginative and perfectly executed and the service always friendly and accommodating. Brandy, the general manager is fabulous and while we might have to wait for a while for a table, she is sensitive to the fact that we traveled a distance just to eat there. Yay for gluten-free pizza! As someone with a gluten-intolerance, pizza is a luxury. Discovering OTTO has been a real treat. The pizzas are creative and flavorful, the atmosphere is cool and great for dates, and the wait staff are always friendly. The prices are reasonable, and they have several local beers, including Down East cider and cranberry cider. I wish they would carry an additional gluten-free beer, but hey better than nothing! Several times when they first opened they were out of gluten-free pizza, which is the reason for the four and not five stars. I can't wait to go back again soon! read more

I've had a mix of experiences at Otto, but overall, it's pretty good. The ambiance at the bar is nice, depending on which bar tender you get. I've had some that are super friendly, and some that clearly did not want to be there. The restaurant is busy, but you can always get a seat at the bar with friends within a few minutes, which is great! The only pizza I recommend there is the Otto four cheese, and ONLY if it's freshly made. I've tried just about all of their other regular types of pizzas and didn't like any of them. The options seem unique and tasty, but in my experience always seem to be lacking taste, or are just a bust. Any of the pizzas with chicken are gross (and I don't say that lightly). They use mostly dark meat, which usually has gristle all over- yuck! The bottom of most of their pizzas have cornmeal on them, which is typical, but if you order just a slice, it's usually been sitting out for a while (few hours by the looks of it) and becomes crunchy- not in a good way. Don't be confused with crispy! With that being said- if you go with a friend, grab a seat at the bar, order a few beers or wine and a fresh four cheese, you're golden. read more

This place gets extremely crowded. We sat near the bar area and ordered a few brews and slices. We were told that 2 of the slices were going to take longer as they were making the pizza; nearly 20-25 minutes later still no slices.... Finally when the slices arrived they were over cooked. It was like eating a cracker with toppings. It's a shame this place is not what it used to be and the food quality is just not the same. read more

I came here at about 2 PM on a moderately busy Saturday afternoon (50% of the tables were taken). We had a friendly waitress, and ordered a potato, scallion, and bacon pizza. However, there was a misunderstanding, and the kitchen never got our order. We waited 40 minutes before they realized this. After another 10 minutes, a pizza came, but not the one we ordered. We called the manager over, and when we explained the situation, he seemed nonchalant, and just took the pie away. I understand mistakes happen, but the manager did not even acknowledge he was at fault. When the correct pizza came, it was good, but not worth an hour wait. As we were walking out of the restaurant, the manager, who was at the till, did not even glance our way to offer an apology or to thank us for our patience. We will not be returning. Under no circumstances am I asking for a free gift card or a free pizza to try again because I will no longer be returning or recommending Otto's ever again. I am writing this review because the last time I had Otto's pizza I had to call out of work 3 days with stomach issues and haven't had regular stool in over a week. I don't believe it is a testament to the pizza but instead the ingredients they were using in the pulled pork and scallion toppings. I would say thank you for helping me lose 15 IBS in a matter of a couple of days after eating a couple of slices of the pizza it has ruined most foods for me now and made eating a brutal task as my stomach is still not the same. read more

The pizza was just decent. There were many selection, but it did not amaze me. I tried the Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion and Butternut Squash, Ricotta and Cranberry. The toppings and flavor was really tasty, but the crust was lacking something. I been there a few times to try the selections they have. My main issue was with the service. The two time I sat in the dining room service was slow. When we sat we waited for around 10-20 minutes for someone to greet us. I tried waving for someone, but I was always ignored. It did not seem extremely busy, so I do not know why did it take this long. We also waited a half and hour before the pizza to came to our table. The guy that brought the pizza over to our table was rude when we tried asking him for something. I also tried getting take out from the same guy that brought the pizza to us who was wearing glasses and was not in one of those T-Shirt or have apron on was incredibly rude when I tried asking a question about the pizza. Also the plates and silver was crusty. They should probably polish plates and silverware. read more

Bad service. Walked in for a slice and not a single person acknowledged me for at least 5 mins... including the manager who walked by me several times. I did not have my phone out, so there is no excuse for the poor service. Even if you are busy will lunchtime rush, you should at least tell me it will be a couple minutes, rather than ignoring me and taking phone orders when I am standing in front of you. Delicious pizza and creative fresh salads. Loved the pulled pork mango pizza but the salami ricotta and mushrooms was to die for. I think it was the red sauce, that was the best! Only complaint was service was ok but they brought kids meals last even though we asked for them to be first multiple times because they were starving. Definetely will try it again. read more

Otto pizza has greatly updated their staff. Sit down service is now something I enjoy doing there now. Staff always have smiles on their faces and are very quick & efficient. If you are into pizza that is not traditional with a variety of topics that may be considered strange and untraditional, then this is your place. But I like classic pizza and this is not that. I found the crust to be a bit thicker than I like. They have a bar and the place can get a bit noisy and crowded. I have had better pizza. read more
