Hal D.

Came here with a group of 6 on a busy Sunday night during the 9 days, when observant Jews are not supposed to eat meat. This is one of the leading kosher dairy restaurants in Lakewood, so you can imagine this was one of their busiest nights all year. Overall, they seemed understaffed for these abnormal crowds on this specific night, but there is a ton of space in the restaurant in general, and they are a professional establishment. Their back room kind of feels like a catering hall and is pretty loud, but they have cameras and an orderly system. It was tough to flag down waiters on the night we went. We had to get small plates on our own, and the main courses came at very different times. That all said, the food was pretty good. Highly recommend the fried cauliflower (comes with Buffalo sauce and other sauces as well), the eggplant parmesan meatballs, and the nachos. Wouldn't do the stuffed mushrooms again, that's just me. In terms of the main courses, this is where they really shine. Tuna steak and their fish in general is cooked well. Pastas were good too, although they took too long to come out, and the ravioli dish was two giant raviolis instead of the classic that I'm used to. Desserts were fantastic. Definitely gotta get those fried donuts. No question. Cheesecake was lemony and a bit dense but great as well. Now, despite their shortcomings, they fully acknowledged the service issues and gave us a discount on the check which we really appreciated. Definitely would come back here.

Amazing extensive dairy menu with delicious food. So many options it's hard to pick! Also accommodating with kids. We got the salmon teriyaki and the Snapper Reuben and the kids got a pizza. Everything was delicious and the service is quick and caring. They come to the table often to ask if everything's okay.

Nice ambiance for Lakewood. Good food and generous portion size. The stuffed mushrooms are to die for. But they didn't have a catch of the day nor gnocchi. They didn't have bread at the beginning, either.

Looked at online rating: 4.8. So decided to have breakfast…read morehere. Opened at 730am, I was the first customer. You place your order with cashier or kiosk. Self service coffee. Little deceiving on line said cappuccino But it's from powder in coffee machine, Not from an expresso machine. Only had whole or low fast milk. No half and half. Had soy milk. House blend coffee was okay. Breakfast served on a paper plate. Home fries deeply fried. Omelette- some of the onions inside the omelet was actually cold. I went to throw out my cup and plate. Had cup in left hand and plate on right hand. I took 3 steps and the plate collapsed, My quick reaction was to place the cup under the plate to stabilize the plate. In doing so I spilled some coffee on the floor. After disposing of plate and cup. I went back to spill to clean it. Employee walked past me and didn't even offer to help. As I was leaving. Employee stocking plastic cups behind cashier counter, a cup fell to the floor. The employee picked it up and placed it with the other cups. Through out the cup please! Bathroom toilet needed to be cleaned. I was the first customer Bathroom should be clean and it was not. Do not recommend at all.

The service is very friendly, and the prices are fair, but the food could be better…read more The tuna melts and pizza knishes are okay. The scrambled eggs and omelets sub-par. The soups are not bad. It's a small place, and they seem to often run out of this type of muffin or that type of baguette, etc. Their choice of soups and salads is also subject to availability.

Not only that, but they also offer fruit arrangements and bouquets! We loved the loaded avocado toast, berry toast, and Brie gobbled down her peanut butter toast! She told me I needed to check it out! So this past 6/10, I did just that. EVIDENTLY, we like the same stuff in our smoothies too, because the owner asked if my daughters name was (name) and I said yes! LOL So here's the scoop, the owners wife came up with the delicious recipes and I have only had the Caramel Apple and it was so refreshing. Now, my Mini-Me has been going here practically every day and also picking up healthy juices and smoothies for her co-workers at a local (Auto Mall) so, you have to know, that these tasty smoothies are Certified Delicious!! Now, they don't open until 9:30 am, but hopefully this changes in the future for those of us who like juices/ smoothies to get our day started. BUT.... if you are looking for a new healthy lunch option, did I mention they have some great healthy salad options, Avocado toasts, or grab a meal replacement Smoothie. They even offer 3 or 6 day juice wellness cleanse and monthly Juice and Memberships. Support this new healthy business and enjoy.

For a while now, I have considered going to Flysh, but never got the chance to. Finally, I managed…read moreto get my way to Lakewood to enjoy their unique menu. Brand: 5/5 Flysh is a kosher eatery specializing in burgers and sandwiches in Lakewood. Its on-point brand remains consistent in the physical sign above the establishment, and everywhere else. Eateries that do this do a good job with branding, since it establishes an identity easy to memorize for any new customers. The angular letters with smooth edges, almost resembling the Hebrew alphabet, give Flysh its upbeat identity. Website: 5/5 It offers you a good introduction to Flysh, with its simple color scheme and images of three of its notable menu items. It never overwhelms you as you scroll through the main page. When you go to the delivery menu, using the Toast Tab app, you get to see many menu items with images attached to them. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not wait long for my order. It took me ¾ of the way into my writing before my name was announced, which befitted a complicated dish like my order. Ambiance: 5/5 Well-cleaned and well-scented, the interior of Flysh has a pretty decent dining area, with booths and tables along a comfortable seating row. All of this had enough space between them. The music plays Israeli pop throughout the establishment. The menu offers you a glimpse at the ingredients of each dish, so you know what you are getting yourself into. All of which had a festive selection, including state fair inspiration with the fried Oreos, onion rings, Texas fries, and steak skewers. Food: 5/5 I ordered their signature chicken sandwich, the Lakewooder. It consists of a schnitzel, hot pastrami, Russian dressing, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and red onions. The schnitzel and the pastrami become the main bulk to taste in this sandwich, for both of them had a well-prepared texture. The pickles and red onions give it the right amount of sharpness, while the Russian dressing enriches it with a hearty flavor. The two additional sauces it came with also enhanced the flavor. I can see how the Lakewooder would serve as a representation of both Flysh and Lakewood itself. It has a pleasant flavor that melts away the problems of your day with every bite. Along with every other menu item on their website, the Lakewooder looks enticing to try. It gave me a pleasant mood throughout the day, with no regrets of ever going to Flysh. The schnitzel had a well-prepared form, appropriate for the time it took to wait for it. The staff handled my order with care, placed within a wrapper upon a cardboard basket. Service: 5/5 The staff managed to acclimate me into Flysh with patiently providing me with a physical menu. They managed to get my order right without any problems. The service gave me a good first impression of the establishment. Nothing about the ambiance disrupted my experience with the service, since they clearly care about it and their food. Cost: 4/5 The solid, consistent brand gives Flysh a standalone status in Lakewood, either physically or digitally. The meat in the Lakewooder give Flysh its name, since it is Yiddish for "meat." I also love how signature dishes represent the specific places of the eateries that serve them. The Lakewooder manages to do that. The website does Flysh justice with its menu items having their own images. If I lived in Lakewood, I would definitely become a returning customer based on the menu images alone. As someone who went to 100 eateries within a single year, I can say that high prices are unavoidable, and that some hustle-and-bustle, bumper-to-bumper areas have higher prices. The same is true for the Lakewooder. However, I do not know if I would negotiate through traffic just to arrive again. Considering the good vibes the Lakewooder gave me, I would like to try different menu items in the future. I can find no substantial suggestions I could give to Flysh, since every aspect works in concert with each other. The only suggestion I could think of is investing in a food truck for celebrations and state fairs if they evolve as a business. Rating: 5/5 Stars Rounding between four or five stars, I ultimately give Flysh five stars, since I see so much potential for this establishment. If I ever find myself in Lakewood with someone else, I would absolutely recommend them Flysh for the first time. For a lot of other Gentiles, it serves as an eatery that can defy a lot of stereotypes they may blindly believe. Recommend To... Anyone in Lakewood looking for an upbeat place to hang out.
