They also give you a lot of cheese in the meat and cheese pie. The flavour of the meat was good. Very rich in spices. Although it lacks the smokey flavour present in Aladdin's meat pies. However, overall it was delicious. The person serving us washed his hands before handling our pies, so I appreciated that, and figured that it's worth mentioning. The place does not have a lot of seating, so better to take it to go. They also serve pizzas here. It is in the same strip mall as Mango's, Sala Thai and a Subway. Lots of free parking. I would come back if I was in the area.

My wife actually missed it more than me (bordering on obsession if you ask me) and so we have stopped in on every Arabic bakery we find to see if they sell it. Finally, we found zaatar bread at Mediterranean Bakery in a little strip plaza on the corner of Alta Vista and Bank (next to Scotia Bank). It is only about $2 for a portion - about the size of a frozen personal pizza. My wife was overjoyed with the authenticity of the taste and we have been back many times to recapture some memories. Thankfully, for me, they sell other Arabic and Lebanese baked goods (like this Arabic flat bread with a soft, mozzerella-like cheese - mmmmm). It is a busy, no-nonsense place but at least you get your food quickly.

We usually get the buns from Seoul Mart, but I'm thrilled they have their own space again. This location on Barrette St opened in October 2023 where Ola Cocina used to be. They are co-located with Mr. Poke. Prior to that they were on Caesar Ave and were co-located with Urban Reifen (a store that sells wheels and tires!), but they left that location in July 2021. So they had no storefront for over 2 years. At some point in their past, they took over the space that was called Seriously Twisted Bakery, which was on Merivale Rd in an old converted house. It was a German Bakery that sold pretzels and I'm not sure of the exact history, but at some time around 2017 it changed ownership and the current owner of JnJ Bakery took over and started selling Korean buns alongside the German pretzels. That location closed and they briefly set up shop on Somerset St before moving Caesar Ave. What a storied past they have, lol. And I've been loving their buns and following them throughout this time. They've been selling their goods at Seoul Mart on and off and they used to sell their goods at OK Mart too, but they no longer do as of the writing of this review (OK Mart seems to have partnered with another bakery called Somi Bakery). The beef bulgogi croquette is my mom's favourite item. I like it too, but I wished it was less oily. I also enjoy their baked buns, especially the custard buns and red bean buns. I've had several products from them over the years and most are delicious. Korean baked goods are hard to come by here in Ottawa. Luckily the ones from JnJ Bakery are delicious. Service is courteous. My personal favourite are the baked goods from Wild Oats. The brownie, oh it's just so good! We also really love that they deliver to our neck of the woods in the country (Dunrobin). The deliveries have been on point and reliable. The Customer Service at the main office is terrific. After searching around for reviews all over the place, Wandee sounded like they had some had khao soi that was as good as you find in Chiang Mai. Parking in the area is plenty but free parking might be harder to find, either way, lots of parking. It looks like it's mostly a pickup counter and they have a picnic table setup outside and a few other tables. Staff are super friendly. I placed my order oh khao soi and took it to go. When I got home and popped the lid, it smelled pretty nice but looking at the order, I felt like I might have got the wrong order. I poked around in it a little bit and there were definitely noodles in it. Did the taste test...honestly, I'm not sure what it was but it tasted like they may have taken a yellow curry dish and tossed some noodles in it and sent it to go. Wasn't a fan of their khao soi as it was lacking any depth or intensity. It was extremely thick and creamy as well. If this is just their yellow curry, I don't think it's for me. May try a different dish if I return but definitely won't get getting this again.

I have chosen the "Carb Hater" meals. I get double veg instead of a side of rice or potato or pasta. They are delivered to my door, still warm, by one of Flava Daddy's drivers in a reusable bag. So I don't have to deal with another cardboard box or bags of ice. I've been getting deliveries of six meals a week for about three weeks and I'm loving it. They come in a semi-reusable Glad plastic container. The nutrition and macros etc aren't listed on the packaging. That's one downside. I think they estimate the Carb hater meals (on the website) as being between 300-450 calories. I'd prefer a more exact breakdown. A better website would be another plus. As is, you can buy your subscription online and you don't need to make any calls but a more in depth site that is a tad easier to navigate would be beneficial. For a local business option in the prepared meal delivery area I would recommend Flava Daddy.
