Other People's Clothes is much closer to a Buffalo Exchange than it is to a Goodwill or Salvation Army. I've found some great dresses here but there are also some low quality items for prices that make you shake your head. Like any consignment store, there's a wide variety of quality, style, and price but compared to other OPC locations, I would say this one is in the lower/middle range of quality. If you're looking for mens clothes, there are slim pickins other than some pants and a rack of button downs. Their accessory section can really pull you in so be warned! They have colorful tights, a bunch of random keychains, socks, and trinkets that always catch my eye but rarely get me to buy. This is an enormous thrift shop that is right on the way between the restaurants/bars where I've been drinking and the Marcy Ave stop where I'm headed to go home, perfectly situated to take advantage of my lowered inhibitions regarding retail. My wife dragged me in here after dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and bright and well-stocked it is. The organization is mostly by color, and although I'd prefer it to be sorted by size, I was astonished that I was able to quickly find a number of items I actually wanted. Other People's Clothes is all about buying and selling and trading what they call "pre-loved" clothing, and I was all for the circular economy even before weird tariff things started happening. Whoever is doing the buying and trading is doing a good job though, because they have a lot of nice stuff for the selling. The prices fall somewhere between the dirt cheap thrift shops/consignment shops of other cities, and the eye-watering, unconscionable prices of the vintage stores in this city. That is to say, I bought a shirt for about $20, a shacket for about $25, and my wife found a great jacket for $40. The staff seems quite nice, both the person who let me into a fitting room and the one who checked us out, and I see myself coming back in, especially since buying anything from China is receiving a 150% markup in the coming months. read more

So just starting off I don't feel like other peoples clothes is "thrift" it's giving more consignment . I'm a big thrifter . And the prices can be exuberant for used clothes . With that said I feel certain things are worth buying . What I love about this store it's colored coordinated and size coordinated which helps me ALOT . You do get a lot of brand names for cheap . I got a beautiful blouse from and other stories for 26 bucks and a sheer dress like thing for 16 and a madewell dress that was barely worn for 24 I think . And they have a whole curvy girl section and you'll find clothes for girls my size all around the store . I really like it here . read more

This is a large thrift store with many beautiful pieces, the only issue is it's extremely overpriced. The quality of the items were good, I didn't see many damaged things which was a plus but they were priced way too high to justify. It was like shopping at the mall, at that price point you might as well just buy something new. I saw a Rebecca Minkoff little leather jacket with holes and a safety pin stuck into it for $40. Like I said, most of the items were in good condition and were very cute and trendy. The shoe rack wasn't too full but it also had great options. I just couldn't get over the prices here. Huge spot with a large variety of clothing, mostly organized by color. They had a lot of trendy clothes as well as more vintage and timeless styles. Prices aren't especially cheap though. I found items that were priced more than how much they cost new. There are dressing rooms to try on clothes. There's also a lot of fun knick knacks and accessories to browse. Took off stars because in addition to my above comments, when I came in, the employees at the selling counter looked at me, gave me the stink eye, and looked away. It was noticeable enough that a customer at the counter even turned to look at me. When other people came in, I heard the employees welcoming them in. It didn't exactly make me feel like I was in a safe space and made me wonder if I did something wrong. Horrendous process. I've been here multiple times and although I wasn't in love with the prices they were fair. Recently I brought in new product from multiple brands that were in season. They honestly have a terrible buy (things with stains and holes for boutique prices) and the associates didn't even know what was being sold from my consignment. I gave new with tags item and they made me wait an hour to tell me they were accepting two items and out of those two one was damaged. (button fell off of a new skirt) read more

I always love the clothing selection at OPC at both the Ridgewood and Bushwick locations, and recently learned that they opened a new branch in Williamsburg so I had to come check it out! This OPC is significantly more spacious than the other two and likewise has a great selection of clothes for a decent price. Most items I saw in the store averaged around $20 whereas other vintage clothing and thrift stores in the Williamsburg area tend to go for $50, sometimes even higher reaching the hundreds. I also love how they group clothing by color. As someone who goes shopping with a specific look and aesthetic in mind, this helps me a lot! The employees can seem standoffish but are actually very sweet! They were hyping up my finds when I went to check out and gave me and my friend a $5 off coupon when I went back a few minutes later to buy some accessories I missed the first time around. read more

I love most of the people in this place because they're very friendly and knowledgeable, but there's this one guy who screams nepotism that is never the best with pricing when selling. Not only that, but sometimes present buy wait times are out of this world - sometimes it's 15 minutes and in recent days it's been 45 minutes to an hour. In the back section of this store they sell a number of home goods and tchotchkes. Amongst them are Labubu figures. My 7 year old is over the moon for these cute/creepy things. On the way home from SA (school) my wife, my daughter, and I stopped and bought 4 blind boxes (she had just presented her first science fair project and we were super proud of her and wanted to reward her.) We brought them home and she tore into them only to be massively disappointed when upon close inspection it was clear these were counterfeit Labubus. So disappointed! A store like OPC that prides themselves in and advertises their ability to recognize authenticity in clothes and accessories, and sells them at high prices because of it (don't be fooled this is not a "thrift" store this is a vintage clothing store), would so carelessly buy counterfeit items. Both because of the implicit dishonesty to its customers but also to the damage it does to the creative industries (of which this store includes itself) while it supports the theft of intellectual property and the mistreatment of creative workers and labor both in the US and abroad. To add insult to injury, when we went back to ask for a refund or even store credit (we realize these were opened blind boxes and would not have attempted to return them had they not been fake and would have been happy to compromise with store credit) we were 100% stonewalled by a person at the register simply repeating their return policy and suggesting it was our fault. We even tried to be discrete about our issue and subsequent return to save the store some embarrassment. We thought perhaps it was all an honest mistake. They could have easily refunded our $80 and thrown away the other, maybe $200, in fake Pop Mart merchandise. Or put up a sign that says "buyer beware - we do not guarantee the authenticity of some of this merchandise." This would have been the honest, good-nature thing to do and for a store that likely makes millions of dollars a year it would have been nothing to maintain trust with its customers and retained a family that had and would have continued to shop there. This is really an $80 no-brainer, but instead the person behind the counter simply got behind this idea that I should have known they were fake because they are so hard to get. They also tried to make the point that the ones we bought were cheaper and that's why we should have known, too bad for them because the truth is, they are selling these fake ones for the same price as real ones on the Pop Mart website - roughly $22. Perhaps I was naive in believing OPC would not sell me something fake or counterfeit. I'm not an idiot, if I bought this at a 99 cent store I would have no expectation of it being real, but this is not a 99 cent store, not by a long shot. I did not think I needed to be a Labubu expert to shop at OPC. Which is why I would have been perfectly happy with store credit, we could have just chalked it up to an innocent mistake by both of us. Too bad. If they would do this with cheap, meaningless items to their bottomline, they would probably do it with other merchandise in the store as well. Lugged a heavy bag of clothes from Manhattan to sell here at 6:32 PM and was told the selling counter was closed, when the website and a sign ON the selling counter said it closes at 7. There was a person working it and no line, and I asked them "wait, it says it closes at 7? I came all the way from Manhattan," and they told me "We just don't have the capacity right now," as they leisurely folded clothes. It felt like that employee just decided to end early, and it was super annoying and inconvenient. I had to carry the bag all the way back home. Over this place! read more

Had to share my amazing experience with the store yesterday. Sam Johnson greeted us upon arrival . He was so nice and knowledgeable. Prices are very fair when selling. Definitely worth the trip. I also picked up lots of alo yoga items new with tags all under $30. Highly recommended. read more

When I was checking out, the person at the register was literally eating pringles while checking me out and didn't wipe their hands or anything before touching the clothes I was buying and there are literally visible marks from pringle dust lol.On top of the fact that the prices here are honestly ridiculous it's pretty frustrating having some else's food scraps all over my new clothes that I paid way too much for.
