Overall, I think this library is a great addition to the community. I will say this, the library is a place that welcomes all and while that is beautiful it does attract a couple of interesting characters. But, everyone tends to mind their business and keep themselves occupied. I do feel safe at this library. They use to have security guards at the entrance however, the last few visits I have not seen any. I can confidently say though that this library takes the safety of the community very seriously. I did have a scary encounter here back in the summer. I was getting some work done when the PA system came on and told everyone to evacuate the building immediately. Obviously, I don't take these things lightly and with the worst case scenario running through my mind I collected my things and left ASAP! As I was leaving police were already surrounding the building. The evacuation was calm and orderly. After going home and doing some research it turns out someone did put in a threat towards the library. Seeing how the situation was handled really affirmed my confidence in the competency of this library. I'm giving four stars because on a more recent visit I had a hard time finding a table to sit that had working outlets. Don't get me wrong, I walked past many tables with built-in outlets but every time I tried to plug in my laptop it unfortunately didn't work. I did finally find one all the way towards the back and was able to get some work done! It really is a grand library! It would be perfect if they ensured all offered amenities were always working properly. Other than that, I do love this library!

Sugar Grove had built this beautiful new library with a huge expansion, great for more books! This new space blows the old space WAY out of the water and I couldn't be more excited. Not only does this new location have much more to offer, but also has a cute little cafe that serves delicious drinks and treats. They also offer group and individual study spaces, meeting rooms that can be rented for small events, many comfy lounging chairs, a large computer room, a teen zone space, and large section for children. My favorite part of the library, aside from the books, is how involved the library is with the community. They host many family friendly events, movie nights, author signings and talks, offer computer and other hands on classes, and much more! For example, if you have a fine, they offer a food drive for exchange of debt on your account. The librarians are incredibly sweet, helpful, and have great taste in movies and books if you ever need a suggestion. My only complaint, which I wouldn't even really call it a complaint, more of a expectation that let me down is the structure of the building gives the illusion that the library has 2 floors, when really it has high ceilings with one floor. Don't get me wrong, I love the layout and the beauty of the this library, just wish that there was a second floor which would mean more books! How can you go wrong with more books.

The storytime room is so cute! It has a giant chick mural, and almost every storytime involves a craft. They have a nice area designated just for teens. You can't walk in without three people greeting you. The collection is a little dated, but they're working on it. I expect very good things from here in times to come.

However, some of the professors were unprofessional in their teachings, so I'm not sure how they were qualified to teach. There were also magnificent professors that would go out of their way in order to see you succeed. Parking was atrocious before but I'm glad they have a parking garage now. I wished they would have had that when I was in school pre covid. It would have saved me lots of aggravation from finding a parking space. Yeah, there were many times that if you didn't get there early enough then you would be searching for parking in the nearby neighborhoods. They had many lots before but they got filled up way too fast. Cafeteria was very decent. The food they served was good, average quality but a nice variety. The labs for doing your nursing skills were superb. The simulation dummy was very helpful and modern. It was used to help you understand how a real patient would be. The clinical sites they sent us ranged from hospitals to nursing homes to schools. The downside is they would send me to Rockford one day and then Chicago the second day. They should have organized it a lot better. Clinical instructors for the most part were very compassionate and attentive in their guidance. The ATI program they used was worthless and not a very good tool for helping nursing students. That was a waste of money in my opinion. I didn't even use it when studying it for my license. Tuition was expensive for each semester. For the amount of money they charged, they should have brought in the parking garage sooner and better quality food. I commuted so I didn't have to stay in the dorms. Overall I give it about a 3.

It is spacious and well organized. I love going here to work on homework because I can use their computers and they have A LOT of them so I never have to wait when I am in a rush to print something off before class. About a semester ago, I got a walk through of the Library with one of the employees that work there. She showed me a whole area the Library has sectioned off from the rest of the books, that is completely dedicated to the teaching field. It is AWESOME! You can find any book you need on lessons and activities. They also have a whole room where you can check out games and activities to bring to your classes with you when you teach. These kits include all the materials you need to do the activity and some of them are really neat like the giant mannequin whose organs you can remove in the stomach for a health class! I love it. The staff are extremely friendly here too and always looking to help you. The library itself is pretty easy to maneuver around but sometimes it becomes overwhelming because there are so many books and it can take awhile to find what you are looking for. Just ask! Some, if not most, of the employees that work there are students and they are very helpful. They will point you in the right direction.

Their computer monitors are very state-of-the-art; they have the ability to rotate almost completely sideways (watch sideways) & the height can also be lowered or raised -if You like to sit up high and keep the screen at eye-level! They move a couple more ways but, they do not tilt backwards -which would be necessary if You stood up and we're looking down at the monitor. Their media catalogue contains literally hundreds of great DVDs & a similar amount of Blu-rays! They offer a large selection of biographies/autobiographies; such as Erika Jayne's autobiography! Their second floor consists of 8 computers (4 on each side with) lots of desk surface for Your things! Drinks are okay if they have a lid/cap. Don't worry about space if You bring Your own device(s); they have about 8 personal tables for You & 2 friends (3 seats total!) Take note that not all tables have a charging outlet located on the floor. There is also a large area to the left (which is circular) for about 15 people to work privately! Not sure yet about the outlet situation over there. Bring large charging cables for Your devices in any situation. The computers have many charging outlets on the desk; charge 4-5 things if needed! It's probably best to bring a "multiple USB" usb adapter; there is only one usb port on the monitor with others possibly located elsewhere. The monitor has an SD card reader; buy an SD adapter to load files on Your TF/Micro SD card and place Your uploaded files on the micro so card into Your teléfono! It's a perfect library with even more perfect Librarians -my favorite aspect of anyplace that I visit! Shout out to Colette, Carmela, Andrea, Heather, Niel; my favorite Librarians!!!
