After having detached retina surgeries (3) and cataract surgeries (4), I can offer a review and…read moreshare why there are a wide range of opinions on Kovach on Yelp. I was directed to them after my optometrist after finding a detached retina. Kovach (Lincolnwood) was able to see me the next day, and surgeon (Barrington) recommended surgery right away. The surgeons and surgery staff (Itasca) are very professional. The main issue is communications and SCHEDULING. They tend to way over-book (Wheaton) and on multiple times I am waiting in the lounge for over two hours. Surgery - 4 stars, surgery support staff - 5 stars, communications - 3 stars, & scheduling - 1 star.

Don't trust them for correct financial costs. Doctor Kovach told me it would cost $3,500 for each…read moreeye, at the BASIC lense, and confirmed by his billing office. i called Medicare and they said the basic lense if fully covered and no out of pocket cost. And then I left several messages, and they NEVER returned my call. AND the doctor TRIED to urge me to buy the more expensive lenses, which I didn't want. ( I thought I would have o sit there to listen to a sales pitch for a Time Share in El Salvador) AND they told me that there's an additional charge from the Surgery Center, but said they didn't know about their charges, and I had to call them. Imagine, sending hundreds and hundred of patients to that center and hove NO IDEA what that costs?? DON'T GO TO THIS OFFICE.

I had a great experience here! I didn't look at yelp before I went and I probably would not have…read moregone if I did. That's sad because I got amazing service here. The front desk staff is reserved, but not unfriendly. This is a medical office, not a retail environment. I work in the medical field and I found them to be very professional. Both of the doctors I saw were very kind (amazing bedside manner), professional and helpful. I went for an emergency visit for a scratched cornia. The diagnosed me quickly and accurately, Dr. Greenberg described the exact angle I had gotten scratched at. I was in an out in about 30 mins (that included filing out paperwork as a new patient.) I called at least 6 doctors to ask for an emergency visit before Eye Surgeons agreed to see me immediately. If you've never had the pleasure, corneal scratches are PAINFUL and being seen quickly is important. I am grateful for their help in this situation and I HIGHLY recommend their services! Thank you Dr's Greenberg and Goldberg! * I also want to add a comment regarding people who commented on the staff speaking "another" language. When I visited the office, many of the patients were speaking "another" language. It is an ABSOLUTE ASSET in healthcare to be able to communicate with patients in their native language or the language they are most fluent in. This means that the healthcare provider can get more accurate information regarding a patient's health concerns. I commend Eye Surgeons for being aware of the needs of their patients and having people working there who can communicate effectively. Everyone there also speaks perfect English, so I don't see why anyone would have a problem.

My experience at this office was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, the…read morereceptionist was noticeably rude and unwelcoming. Instead of greeting patients professionally, she seemed irritated and dismissive, making the check-in process unnecessarily uncomfortable. When I asked a simple question, I was met with a short, unfriendly response. It felt like patients were more of an inconvenience than a priority. The overall atmosphere of the office reflected this lack of professionalism, which made the entire visit stressful. Customer service is just as important as the service being provided.
