I ordered the Happy Waffle and couldn't believe I almost finished the whole thing. Unlike America, they don't use much sugar so it was completely tolerable and I didn't feel guilty or even gluttonous I added scoops of ice cream (vanilla and mango), strawberries, mango, mandarin oranges and other fruit, white chocolate, assorted local chocolates, and sprinkles. The personal touch did it for me though. I could not stop grinning and taking pictures lol it was soooooo good looking and I didn't know where to start. The owner was super welcoming and hospitable. He brought me hot tea to go with my waffle. I look forward to returning to Germany just so I can get another waffle.

We initially went to the smaller location of this shop that was just a storefront with no seating. They also didn't make waffles. So we ended up walking about 10 minutes to this larger location. It was a little challenging to translate all of the flavors into English but the employees did their best and we were, for the most part, able to figure out what they offered. We saw that they had a nice variety including chocolate, pistachio, chunky peanut, caramel cheesecake, chocolate tiramisu, hazelnut, chocolate brownie, coconut with cacao nibs, banana, and a few sorbets. They let me sample the chocolate brownie that I had my eye on, which was really good. I ended up getting two scoops - chocolate brownie and coconut. This is one of my go to combinations and theirs was really good. The coconut had a little surprise mixed in, cacao nibs. I rarely get ice cream in a cone but given that they specialize in waffles, I assumed that their waffle cone would also be good. And it was! It was sweet and hard enough that it didn't get soggy as the ice cream melted but it had a nice chewiness to it as well. The waffle came out nice and hot and it was also topped with a scoop of the coconut ice cream. We sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon while eating our ice cream.

There was only one guy manning the counter, waffle maker and register. His strategy was to first take everyone's order back to back and then move over to the waffle iron and condiment station to make them up one at a time. When one was completed, he would hustle it out to the appropriate table. Needless to say this meant that it take a good 15 minutes before we got our waffle. I will say it was worth the wait though as it was light and full of flavor with just the right mix of toppings. Maybe we had selected a good combination, I don't know.
