I got a chance to visit Rausch chocolate shop during my visit to Berlin. Clearly, Rausch was the place to stop by if you are looking to check out some chocolates in town. Particularly during holidays, the hot chocolate...or as a matter of fact, anything chocolate seems to be a good thing to indulge! And Rausch is precisely good at that...for you to try any variation of chocolate you might want! I had a chance to try their hot chocolate (70% cacao) with whipped cream and thought it was good (although a little too sweet for my taste since I don't really enjoy chocolate that is on a sweet side). They also have a waffle to go with hot chocolate on their first floor cafe as well (so I did try their waffle with banana inside). It was a good snack (although still on a sweeter side though). What I liked about this place was that the store is multi-story high and you can spend time browsing all thing chocolates and will likely find something to take home with you. I enjoyed being in that environment and it was very pleasant and good for holidays spirit as well! Honestly, I would take Rausch hot chocolate over any other generic hot chocolates from any other Christmas market in Berlin any day! One thing though..their top floor has a proper sit down cafe (that has quite a waiting line)..but I don't think they have too much selection of savory things at all.

Very cool, chocolatier with an ungodly amount of pralines variety to pick from. It smells great in there and there is something for pretty much everyone in that store. The only downside is that prices were pretty high, but the quality is worth it. They also have some unique chocolate sculptures, which is fun to look at even if you don't want to buy anything.

Must try chocolate cafe for all chocolate lovers! On our first day at Berlin, the concierge at our hotel recommend this cafe when I was looking for chocolates. Upon stepping into the cafe, I knew I was in for a wonderful chocolate experience. Located the the Mitte area in Berlin, this chocolate cafe had three floors. The first floor is mostly for chocolate retails, and it also has a small area for ice cream and coffee. The second floor has made to order chocolate. The third floor is a sit down dessert cafe, where reservation is recommended before arrival. I was blown away by the chocolate assortment. They have everything from chocolate bars with cocoa sourced from all regions around the world, assortment of truffles, marzipans, chocolate jams, hot chocolates and pralines. My favorites are truffle assortment, the Petite, and chocolate clusters with nuts. The chocolate cafe has beautiful models of Brandenburg Gate and other Berlin landmarks made in chocolate, which are Insta worthy. The cost of chocolates are comparable to other high end high chocolatiers in the US. They also offer retail through their website, but shipping is high for YS destination. Highly recommend!

When in Berlin, you come to the city's official chocolate shop. This was a recommended pitstop if I wanted to bring home an authentic Berlin food souvenirs. I was really impressed at all the Berlin cafes, the variety of sweets I've tasted and seen from the city's food scene. Chocolates are big in Germany but wow this was a nice experience of naturally sweet and delicious I've tried. This store is huge and you can easily just find yourself grabbing any collection box of chocolates, specialty themed chocolates, customed selections to mix and match, and even the big chocolate model homes and towers replicating Berlin's signature sites. Even if I only had some room in my luggage to pile my chocolates shopping collection, this place had every type and flavor neatly packaged and a great gift for your loved ones. Store was huge and the staff were great in helping me with my decision making. Everything in this shop was exquisite, calm vibes, and overwhelmingly wonderful for any sweets fanatic. I do want to come back for their chocolate and dessert wine. This was a unique form of chocolate I've never seen. When I have a check-in luggage in mind for my next Berlin trip, I'll be sure to grab a bottle to try.

Loved the chocolate cafe upstairs! We got the chocolate mini torte and devoured it. There was also a great selection of chocolates to go downstairs

Cafe is on the 3rd floor of the shop, 2nd floor has an open confectioner making chocolates. Delicious chocolate goodness in a cup, I had 70% Ecuadorian chocolate 4€. Thick smooth custard with a hint of nutty aroma on finish...like nothing ever tried before. Could go with 1/2 Gal milk rn haha but that's what the water is for on the side lol Very reasonable prices and the immaculately clean WC has a jungle theme and the most beautiful baby changing table :O

Very beautiful chocolate shop in Berlin! Their main shop is on the first floor, but there are also 2 additional levels. On the top floor there is a cafe where one can order coffee, hot chocolate, + delicious pastries. Rausch is definitely the go to spot if you're craving any sort of chocolate. The service at the cafe was very friendly.

Wow! The best chocolate shop in Berlin. Tasty and creative. Rausch is the place to go if you want any kind of chocolate. Service is great as well.

Such a fun chocolate shop in Berlin- amazed at how many generations this family business has been around. I was in awe with the larger chocolate creations of some of the Berlin monuments and the selection of chocolates. I also went upstairs to try the cafe. We got seated right away but I can see there being a queue. I shared the 60% dark hot chocolate and a three layer chocolate torte, both were rich and delicious! Service was very friendly, located in a very walkable and convenient area.

The chocolate house proclaims itself to be the "largest chocolate house house in the world." There are three floors. The first floor is filled with chocolates, and a great place to buy souvenirs. I also enjoyed some ice cream. On display, there are chocolate replicas of famous Berlin landmarks, such as the Brandenburg Gate. The top floor has a cafe. While the cakes looked delicious, I didn't have any. If you have a sweet tooth, then it can be fulfilled here.

A bit of heaven. A relaxed, soothing café with soft music playing. A personal favorite is the combination of chocolate with cherry, and their Torte is a culinary delight. Rich layers, dark chocolate, brownie cake and moist sweet cherries. My server recommended the dark hot chocolate with no additional flavors. It was perfect. And Joachim is everything that a great server should be...personable, knowledgeable, and efficient.

In our chocolate bar making class, we made two identical Ritter bars of a unique-to-you flavor. There are about 24 mix-ins and they allow you to choose 3 so the flavors are preserved. Then you chose your chocolate. While the bars are setting, you have an educational session on Ritter and on chocolate. Our tour was mainly Germans so they only spoke English during this portion. However, during the TV visual portion there were English subtitles. As mentioned, there is a lot of Ritter to chose from in their store - small bars, big bars, all flavors including limited edition flavors, gifts boxes, a meter of chocolate. And there is a small cafe with drink and sweets. We didn't utilize the cafe nor did we purchase extra chocolates. We really enjoyed our time! Chocolate bars rock here! Although Leysieffer bars ain't no Lindt, SPRÜNGLI, Teuscher, Godiva wannabee. Nope. Leysieffer bars are possibly the most original, differently well crafted chocolate bars I've had. How did I discover this place? German friends bringing these treats to LA. Leysieffer has been around since 1909. It is the primo source for classic German chocolate. Leysieffer is uber amazing chocolate in a different way and they take chocolate to another level. If you like bold flavors and bold chocolate up to 90% dark cocoa, unencumbered, come here. After you've had a bite you know there is a notable palate awakening quality that Leysieffer imparts to your chocoholic sensibilities. But wait that's not all, my favorite and amazing chocolate bars at Leysieffer are paired with things like Cardamom, Early Grey, Elderberry so good and unique. Fassbender & Rausch down the street is also really good chocolaterie but I find their products to be more museum type stuff, the flavors at Leysieffer however, are better evolved and crafted for the serious chocoholic. My favorites chocolate bars here are (check out the pix): Earl Grey (not available when I visited) Rosa Pfeffer (Pink pepper studded in chocolate) Meersala (coarse salt in medium and dark) Lavender Ginger Cardamom Elderberry Grapes Wasabi (half dark choc) White Chocolate with Chili (chile not chili powder) There are many other varieties of chocolate made here. This is some amazingly good chocolate, the ingredients time tested and flavors are invented here. On top of that, there are pralines, truffles, marzipan chocolates, all these can be ordered online, except for the freshly baked cakes and counter sweets. Leysieffer has 3 locations in Berlin and also the 6th Floor Food emporium at Kadawe (amazing, super amazing collection). The location on Friedrichstraße 68, is about 3 blocks from the Stadmitte U-bahn stop is also a cafe so can purchase a light lunch, cakes and coffee with chocolate. Soo fun an experience to come to a cafe and have chocolate from the source right there. I was here every other day. Berliners love their fine chocolate and Leysieffer rocks it! Hopefully you'll get to try it out when you make it to Berlin. ORDER Online: You can order online at http://leysieffer.de/englisch/home.html Tip: Their chocolate bars run anywhere from $5-$6 and SOOOOOOOO worth it. Service at the cafe or any eatery in Berlin is not like in the states. American Yelpers complain about service. I think this is true for all kinds of restos and cafes in Berlin . Waiters don't come to you every 5 minutes like in America. Berliners like to stay and sit for hours during a meal and when you're ready to order or for the check, wave at your waiter. Visits: 3 and 2 in Kadawe (Department Store).
