This was my first time buying a needlepoint canvas and the ladies in the store were super welcoming and helped me get everything I needed!

Greeting Cards and knickknacks line the shelves of this little store. Need a gag gift for that…read more"over the hill" party? Neither do I. But I did need a calligraphy pen and they had several colors and nib sizes. Candles? Yes. Angel statues? Of course! Beanie babies? Dude.

I purchased a ceramic mug for my sister for her birthday. The mug was a hand painted blue hydrangea…read morepiece that cost me $29.95. After one hand wash the mug cracked and no longer held liquid so we contacted the store for a return. "No problem" the owner said just bring it back. After multiple attempts dealing with cashiers who did not know how to do returns, including having my credit card charged again by accident I finally was able to reorder the mug with the owner and gave the store the damaged mug back in January. This morning I went to pick up her new mug. The owner greeted me and immediately questioned how the mug was damaged. I explained the hand washing with a crack etc and he said "I showed the mug to the artist and they just shook their head saying in no way was this damaged from just water. There were multiple chips in the mug which you did not describe". At this point I felt he was questioning my integrity as if I was trying to get something for free. I explained I live in town, and would not lie about how the mug was damaged. He said "Our return policy is very liberal and we've been dealing with this artist for four years and they wouldn't make this up." The fact is the store had the mug in their possession for over a month and I'm sure it was tossed to the side and perhaps chipped or the water weakened the mug to where it chipped whatever. Regardless of how it was damaged just replace it no big deal! So now I'm visibly upset and tell him again I wouldn't lie about this, and that this isn't worth the argument over a mug. He then slams the new mug on the counter and asks me to leave and never shop there again. He then comes from behind the counter and ushers me out of his store telling me to never come back. What kind of person does this to a customer? Especially a mother with a baby? I left in tears with a stupid mug I don't even want anymore after being treated so poorly by him and his staff. Later I found the mug artist online and called them directly and found out they had already given him a new mug for free and had no problem replacing it regardless of how it was damaged. They apologized for this man's actions and offered their products directly to me if I ever wanted in the future. I'm going to return the new mug and I don't even want my money back. He can have my $30 if it means so much to him and he can also resell a mug he got comped to make another $30. Thanks George Bagley.
