Locals refer to Ostuni as "the White City" (la Cittabianca) due to its whitewashed tufa-limestone architecture. It's sits atop a Puglian hill (colle) that you can spot for miles. As impressive as the city is, this Osteria is a highly prized culinary jewel in the crown of Italian gastronomical kingdom.
Located near the cathedral, it's a must find place for the culinary explorer.
All the local delicacies are found here and my recommendation is the homemade orecchiette and any dish made with the local clams ("vongole").
Special mention to the melanzane (eggplant) which is locally grown and you've probably passed fields of this versatile Puglian vegetable on your drive in.
First class service, exceptional food, magnificent scenery! Can't go wrong with any dish here! Ask also for the "vino rossa di casa".
Va bene cosi? Ciao. Ch'e vediamo dopo!
