    Aperol spritz

We saw this place our first day in Venice, and we ended up passing by it several times on our way going around town so we decided to get dinner here the next night. Unfortunately, we didn't take down the name of the place so we couldn't find it LOL so we wandered around again trying to see if we would end up finding it. Luckily, we did. Ended up getting my first aperol spritz (meh...overrated), the Kevin panini, an aroncini (rice ball), spaghetti with clams and spicy penne. I can probably safely say that this place had the best spaghetti with clams we had in all of Italy, and we had it several other times as we went south. It was not too salty (a problem the other places definitely had), and the spaghetti was perfectly cooked. My husband also really liked his spicy penne. The restaurant played music videos the whole time, and that was how I found out the name of the song that's been playing around Italy the entire time we were there...so that was fun. We did see these other people who came in and complained about how salad doesn't come with the meal...and they decided to just drink the drink they ordered and leave instead of dining in. Their loss I guess...

Love! We came across Osteria da Baco when we first arrived in Venice. The food is so delicious and affordable by Venice standards. This is most certainly an underrated restaurant. Their eggplant parmesan is phenomenal. Hubby loved his pizzas also. Outside dining is available. The service is friendly and prompt. This place is worth the visit when in Venice!

Wow, happy to randomly pick this spot to grab some lunch after a long day of walking. Everything my husband and I ordered was great...but the pancetta bruschetta was out of control! Amazing!

In the tourist-trap-filled labyrinth known as Venice in terms of food, I thought Osteria da Baco was pretty good. I ordered two sandwiches - one with shrimp salad and radicchio, and the other with prosciutto in it. My friend also ordered two sandwiches, though I forgot what was in hers. We enjoyed our sandwiches, and the ingredients were fresh. Nothing earth-shattering, just simple and fresh. It was a cozy shop, and people were constantly coming in and out. It is somewhat of a soup nazi line in there, but it's understandable given the size and the tourist traffic. I would stop by if I go back to Venice (versus no way for some of the other rip-off places encountered!).

2 words- food poisoning. We came here for dinner on our first night in Venice because of the great…read morereviews. The staff was so kind and helpful! We sat indoors which felt so nice with the AC! The food and drinks were okay taste-wise. I would give the taste a 6.5 out of 10. Good yet not tons of flavor. The food was good for filling our tummies in the moment but not good enough to return. The worst part - food poisoning. I had the calamari and boyyyyy was I sick afterwards. It turned our experience from "okay" to "ouchhhhh". Unfortunately, we will not be returning for more. :(

Was able to make a reservation for 3 somehow on some local platform (spouse) for 8 pm Sunday…read moreevening in June. Other walk in accommodated as much as possible. Arrived a bit early and seated at window seat inside immediately. The inside is cozy but adequate. The staff hustled and were very efficient and friendly. We ordered the seafood special based upon walking in and seeing a huge pan on fresh seafood on table and thus made it easy for me and the kid to decide. It was their house special at 35 euros per person (minimum 2). Included lobster and a bunch of shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in a red broth. Also two large scallops. Takes at least 30 minutes to prep so need the appetizers to get you by. The also close out the special by tossing in pasta after your done with the seafood into the remaining broth. Full disclosure it's a mess to eat. Must use hands. The cover you with s bib. It was delicious. The spouse does not like briny seafood so she didn't eat much but more than enough for 3 (except not for the scallops and lobster portion). We started with a few appetizers. Spouse had the lasagna. It looked good and home made but again I ignored it due to the mountain in front of me. A few drinks and bottle of water. I wish the pasta was available before the end but understand they want to toss it into your pan of sauce. I had originally asked to order a pasta to complement but they said it came with a pasta after ( so I agreed ). Obviously we are tourist so I can't take extra home of which would have been plenty. Total cost about 143 euros. (No additional taxes or tip). Credit card available but we needed to roll home to hotel so left 150 cash on table.
