Tonight I visited Osteria to celebrate my husbands birthday. This was not our first visit but it will be our last. The barmaid working the bar made it clear by continually ignoring my husband and I that we were not welcome. Her disregard became so obvious that one of the regulars had to point to us as a reminder we were waiting to be served. I'm not sure the reason for the disregard but I'm disappointed. Each time we've visited the food is always been amazing as was the case this evening. The wait staff at our table was also amazing but I will not spend my money where I am not wanted. Bravo to the barmaid you achieved your goal of making us feel unwanted. We will not be returning. You get three stars for the food. read more

We arrived a half hour before our reservation so we decided to have a drink at the bar. The barmaid was very friendly and explained to us that the owner does the cooking himself and everything id made fresh, all the sauces are made to order except the marinara sauce (or gravy) virtually a one man show and thats why it takes so long for the food to come out , which is ok with us. Our company arrived and we were seated on time. Every person at the table was extremely satisfied with the quantity, quality and authenticity of the food. If you want to just eat and run, this isnt the place, if you want to dine your at the right place. Prices are very reasonable and service was friendly. Honestly , this might be my favorite italian restaurant. We will be back!! read more

Have been here four times now. Food is always delicious. The scallops, shrimp over homemade pappardelle pasta in a lobster cream sauce is AMAZING!!!!!!! Very good service. Haven't seen a bad choice by anyone I dined with during those visits. read more

We had an amazing dinner tonight! Our service was excellent. Great ambiance. The chicken parm and meatballs were delicious. The pasta was made to perfection. The entrees came with bread and a fantastic garden salad with homemade dressing. To end the night we got homemade tiramisu which was hard to choose with all the amazing dessert options. I have been to Osteria probably 5 or 6 times in the last couple years, all were great, which brought me back last night with my family to celebrate our anniversary. We got 3 specials and 1 off the menu entree, 2 appetizers to share and 6 drinks total - there were 4 of us. Two of the special entree's were not hot, only 1 of us could eat the salad there was so much dressing on there and generally I feel like there was nothing special about the specials I am sad to say. Not sure I will be back again I felt it was way overpriced for what we got we did get a lot of food but I would prefer better meals, more reasonable prices and less food (felt thrown together). Service was good but not getting hot food is the worst and it was not even crowded. I am sad it has always been our go to but not anymore. read more

I had dinner here on New Years Eve. The menu was set at 7-8 entrees for the night. My wife and I had a seafood dish which included shrimp, scallops, and crab meat on top of a plate of paparadelle, with a marinara sauce. I have to say that the dish was outstanding. Large amounts of seafood over the pasta. We took a lot of it home to finish off. For a hectic night, the service was outstanding. I would not hesitate one bit to eat here again. I can't recommend this place enough. I had two different seafood dishes in the same week, and I cannot wait to go again. For the appetizer, I recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp, but the calamari was pretty good too. Entrée seafood medley was cooked perfectly, and there was a plentiful portion with each dish. After reading the one and five star reviews I wasn't sure how my meal would turn out here. Thankfully better than expected. There is a lovely outside patio but we're inside people. The dining room was comfortable but a bit dated. White tablecloths! So old fashioned. The ultimate sign of hospitality and sophistication. It's a sign of caring that so many have forgotten or cost cut. Service was good in a no nonsense diner style where regulars are family. Water and bread were delivered with butter. Olive oil cruet is on the table. I started with the arugala salad. The greens were fresh and crisp with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomato halves (love that detail) balsamic vinaigrette. Nice ambience, although when crowded, it is noisy. The food - superb. I had the special of scallops, shrimp and crabmeat sautéed in a red sauce over pappardelle. Perfectly seasoned. My boyfriend and I wanted a date night locally, and thanks to previous Yelp reviews, this place seemed like a winner so we gave it a try. We made reservations at 5PM, when it opened, for a 7:30pm dinner, no problem. When we arrived, the hostess stand was in the dining room, and we were awkwardly waiting in the door entrance by the restrooms. I did see signs for construction and I'm hoping that was just a temporary set up, because it was awkward lingering there. We were seated right at 7:30 when our reservation began. We were brought bread and butter. We placed our order... and didn't receive it for another hour. There was a large party seated next to us, which may have been the issue, but it was a lot longer than I would typically like to wait for a meal. Regardless of the wait time, the food was PHENOMENAL. I had the Pollo Verde which consisted of chicken topped with prosciutto, melted fontina cheese and spinach, with a side of fettuccine. Truly a delectable, memorable meal. My boyfriend had the veal saltimbocca and was equally as impressed with his meal. It was an absolutely horrific experience. We decided to come here for my birthday dinner after having a great meal in the past. After sitting for a half hour, our waitress finally deemed to come over to take our orders. At an italian restaurant, proceeded to explain fra diavolo and papperdell, please dont insult my intelligence. It took an hour and a half to even receive our dinners. The waitress did not check in once, and there were many empty tables in the restaurant it wasn't that busy. After I voiced my displeasure, I received sass that she wasn't the one cooking our food. When i asked for more bread, she lauged at me. When asking to speak with a manager, turns out this woman was the manager. Didn't apologize once for the wait, acknowledge us, offer refills, nothing. When wrapping up my grandparents food, proceeded to give me more sass. I will never come back and as long as this awful woman is the manager, more tables will be empty. read more

Beth was a super sweet server, very personable and attentive! I haven't been to Osteria in probably 8 or 9 months. We specifically went to indulge in all you can eat mussels now for $15, and bread and salad. You get your choice of pasta and red or white sauce. You can also change the sauce and pasta type if you have a second order. The white broth is to die for, it's got a great garlic flavor with finely chopped tasty garlic. The dishes are dressed in what appears to be fresh parsley. Pleasing to the eyes, nostrils, oooohh la la garlic, and the tongue. The desserts I've had in the past were phenomenal! Love the cannoli! I walked past the dessert tray and many were quite intriguing, but alas, no room left! read more

I tend to be a tough grader, particularly of restaurants. I've enjoyed Osteria for decades, and I really like it under the current ownership. Food is excellent, always served piping hot. It's clean and simple, and very popular and deservedly so. I would eat most of what's on the menu. It can be a bit tough to park, and the tables are very close together, but that's not enough to prevent me from giving Osteria a five star rating. read more

Hidden gem. Tried this family owned Italian restaurant for the first time after passing it for years and decided we waited long enough. Most reviews warn about a long wait for food. That was not our experience. Arrived a little early for a 8:30 reservation on a Friday night. They seated us promptly and took our order shortly after. A 35$ bottle of chianti, bruschetta branzinno and lasagna were ordered. Bruschetta came out shortly and was tasty. Chicken soup was also good. Salad was pretty plain. With 1 wedge of tomatoes, a couple of slices of cucumber and lettuce. Branzinno was exceptional. Presentation very nice. Waitress said it's not alway available though. Lasagna was very good served with 2 meatballs. I really should have saved room for dessert. I will definitely be back for at least that and update this. Atmosphere was casual intimate with nice tablecloths candlelight and wood accents. Bar looks light on craft beer but the wine is very reasonable. Bill came to under 90 for 2 of us. I can handle that. Food was average, but their service was so slow. It took 3 hrs to eat three courses. It took about 30 minutes to order and was about 1.25 hrs from the time we ordered to the time our entrees arrived. Not everyone at the table had ordered appetizers so it was a long time to wait for your dinner to arrive. I had low expectations for this subtle suburban spot and boy was I treated to entrees and apps I'm still raving about ! Great "No frills" bar with awesome welcoming neighborhood crowd. I felt V comfortable sitting there drinking my Stella Artois on draft. Me and the boys went nuts when we sat down and all but ordered every item on the menu. We were like animals devouring delicious treats. Whatever you do, ask for the papperdelle pasta. We got it with red sauce. PHENOMENAL! Also recommend the tortellini alla Nonna. An excellent take on white cream sauce. Mode apps we got the clams = great. Broccoli rab = great. Also got escarole and beans. So good! Shrimp as well and another pasta I can't even remember but I know it was slamming The BEST BEST part of this restaurant..... the price. More than fair price. Food delicious. 4.5-5 Service - 1 and that's being generous Second time with just terrible service. Over 2.5 hours for table of two for two easy basic entrees. The first time was a few months prior and we gave them a gimme for Covid reasons. But still never got someone to come back and get our bill so we left cash and took off. This time we again had reservations - got there early and took a good 20 minutes to get drink order in and 45 minute to get our main order in. Had to get ourselves water from the server stand and when asked for a glass later in the meal it never came. To-go food came out wrong but at this point we just had to get out of there. Seems by other reviews service is consistently bad. Won't be back for a long time. Hoping the management sees this and makes adjustments. I don't mind a meal at a leisurely pace but feeling ignored does not make a pleasant experience. read more

We went for dinner Saturday night and as always, Osteria did not disappoint. Hands down best Italian food in the area. Everything is so fresh and delicious! The chef cooks everything to order. That being said be prepared to wait a bit for your food on a weekend. We have no issue waiting for such AMAZING food. We always get the calamari and prosciutto wrapped asparagus (sooo good). We went with our server Thalia's recommendation for our dinners (she was great and so accommodating for my partners gluten allergy). We got a seafood papardelle special and the roasted veal chop. My husband and I tried Osteria this evening and I'm sorry to say that while the service was fast and friendly, the food left much to be desired. The shrimp was over cooked and chewy and my pasta was likely cooked about 5 minutes past al dente. My husbands chicken was overdone and rubbery, and the sauce was bland and flavorless. His pasta was also over cooked like mine was. I was very disappointed because I've been wanted to go to Osteria since we moved here, and have heard great things about it. I'm not sure if we came on a bad night or what, but it was not the meal I had hoped for. I'm not sure if they had staffing issues in their kitchen, but if I try to eat there again, it won't be for a long time. read more
