Actually, I wasn't really aware that I had lost my life. I was frustrated with some pounds that wouldn't budge. I had tried all the things. All the diets. I tried any fitness regimen that any blog, magazine, neighbor, friend or dog suggested to no avail. Add on to that, a year of pandemic-comfort food eating-binge drinking-soul searching-extra baggage carrying mania and by January 2021 I was ready for a change. While I was ready for a change, I was also dead scared any nutritionist would take away all my champagne and comfy carby carbs. One of my top favorite things about working with Lori is we took it slow and easy! We made little tiny baby steps that added up to little tiny baby changes. It got the ball rolling without feeling like I was sacrificing anything or missing out. The second thing I love about Lori is that she practices what she preaches. She works out, she eats clean, and she takes her own advice. I found that not only to be mesmerizing but inspiring. Anyone can be a teacher but a great teacher is also a great leader by example! So how I found my life that I didn't realize I had lost....Well through our sessions we talked about many other things besides food. Like my work, my husband, our home life, habits, patterns, emotions etc. Through this process of digging stuff up and sifting it out we found that the over eating and over drinking came from a deep dark place of unhappiness. Again, Lori didn't take things away but added things back in that made me happy. I had forgotten how much I love to paint. I had forgotten how to be happy sober. I had forgotten how to express myself under pressure to my boss, to my husband, to my family and to myself. As more happiness crept in, more unhappiness crept out. As the unhappiness left my need to eat and drink like a termite vacated. I'm still a work in progress but aren't we all right?!
