What I don't appreciate is when medical practitioners get offended when you ask questions, or challenge theories when it comes to your own health. It is my body and my life, I think every patient should ask questions and challenge conventional theories. I have a thyroid issue. I am trying to find ways to heal it. I have been seeing Dr. Horsefield for maybe 5 years now, and have noticed passive aggressiveness before... but what I recently experienced is clearly unacceptable. I saw him for my regular annual appointment 3 months ago. My TSH levels were too high, so I got on some thyroid supplements and we retested about 6 weeks later. The results came in and the TSH levels were too low. I have since readjusted my medication and sent him an email politely asking if he could order the bloodwork to retest my levels so I can ensure i am now healthy and found the right balance. His response was callous. I have attached a photo with the passive aggressive response, where he makes it clear that he wont put the test in the system because he doesn't get paid for "answering emails, ordering tests, reviewing tests, communicating test results and maintenance of records" ..... REALLY? Aren't those tasks associated with being a doctor? I would be happy to pay him, for me it isn't about the money at all. In addition, clearly SOMEONE is getting paid when I order these lab tests because I'm charged thousands of dollars for them. All I need though is the bloodwork.... and he doesn't have availability for 2 months!?! I'm extremely disappointed that someone in the healthcare field is so much more concerned about their wallet than their patients health. Also if he wanted to charge me a processing fee that is fine, but his solution is clearly not in my best interest to wait 2 months and potentially do irreversible damage to my body.

BEWARE, Learn from me, don't bother calling for an appointment…read more.. Basically they lost my appointment booking for my son! Gave me the impression that it was my fault, but then admitted that their office staff member didn't sync the appointment in order to hold the appointment in the system. All I got from the doctor via her staff was that she runs her appointments on time that that she can't stay late because her child had a violet ball game. I can't believe the lack of customer service. What about the time I wasted... driving into the city ( 30 minutes one way), fighting traffic, leaving work early which is not easy when you are a teacher, and my son having to leave school early because he was the actual patient. This office is a joke, so many other doctors out there is this medical, saturated Houston area.

Dr. Howard was the last resort and she was able to accurately diagnose the root cause of his agony within a few minutes of meeting him. She taught him how to massage the areas of his head that were the problem then sent him to physical therapy where he learned other exercises to prevent a reoccurrence of the problem. Thanks to Dr Howard he did not have to take the powerful pain killers that his other physician had prescribed. As far as I am concerned, Dr Howard is a miracle worker.

I been with one medical since it was a company benefit of mine when I worked at uber back in 2015 in Phoenix and I'm a loyal devoted fan of this practice. There app alone is absolutely worth it. I can get treatment for UTIs and common colds in less than an hour. No need for urgent care or in person doctors visits. The only reason I been at an office is due to paper work an a weird viral pink eye. My doctor is awesome. He takes his own vitals and does everything meaning none of the repeating everything you just told the MA or Nurse (I'm a nurse myself so I get it) just straight to the point. My doctor remembers everything from the last visit and it's easy to message him if needed. They do labs here as well. I never spent no more than like 5 minutes in the waiting room either. Parking? Don't worry about it, they validate. Just show on up. Yes I know Amazon bought them, but Amazon owns the internet. Might as well enjoy your doctor visits

First, the punctuality is non-existent--I waited nearly 45 minutes past my appointment time with zero communication from the front desk. Once I finally left, the 'care' stopped immediately. Trying to get a response via the app or a simple follow-up on labs is like shouting into a void; they are quick to bill you but impossible to reach when you actually have a question. It's incredibly frustrating to pay a yearly membership fee just to be treated like an inconvenience. The staff is dismissive, the organization is a disaster, and the 'premium' experience is a complete myth. Save your money and your sanity--go literally anywhere else in Houston.

I gave him a letter the last time I saw him, in which I explained that he never tried to make a personal connection with me. Everything was insurance and money money money. I had 3 sessions with him, tried 3 different medicines and never felt that he was really trying to make any progress with me. In fact, if I'm honest, he just added more stress to my life. (I wrote him the letter before what I'm about to tell you happened) On the day of our appt, I could not make it because I had an emergency with 2 of my employees who got hurt during a storm in New Orleans. He left me a voicemail in which he said if I didn't show up, I'd have to pay out of pocket. In the middle of all the things I was dealing with, I drove 45 MINUTES to his office to pay my co-pay. I showed up and told him I really could not stay because I needed to be on the phone dealing with issues. He didn't bother to ask what was going on, he however did say I would have to pay $171. He basically proved me right about only caring about making more money. I went to my nearest bank, got the money and went back to pay him. Almost 2 hrs wasted. He is old and the feeling I got from him is that he does not want to retire and be doing nothing, so instead he just takes people in and makes a few extra bucks instead of being home. People like me don't need that! We need someone who can help us. I will attach pictures of the letter I wrote him. I don't think he is a bad person or doctor. He just does not have the will to help people anymore.

He did not document properly and spent time slowly typing while he made me stop talking. Many of my symptoms were not discussed as he rushed out on the hour. The doctor also had several bad reviews online. When I began telling about incidents related to my PTSD, he asked me if I had "proof" as of the incident. He was not sensitive to me and seemed short to which I perceived abusive in demeanor. QTC, his broker, had another examiner do a IMO on me who had never met me and also did not have my new and relevant medical evidence. Similar to another google complaint by QTC, they completed a medical opinion on me based off of older records #1, dismissing new and relevant info and #2 doctor never even met me and made a conclusion also using older medical evidence. Try and not use QTC for MH exams if you can avoid it they will evaluate you without your new and relevant medical evidence if it is convenient for them. We feel like someone in the system has purposefully omitted information concerning the severity of my PTSD which included documents about gunshot wound, assaults, how those affected me, as well as private DBQ was left out. Avoid QTC and Dr. Richard Barrett! All about their business and not helping people.

Fed up with regular allopathic/western medicine, a nurse in the hospital I use to work in recommended I search up Chris Kresser's website. This lead to me finding out about functional medicine and in return finding this practice. She does not rush you and listens carefully. She can be a little disheveled and can go off on a tangent. You have to bring her back on track. But she's kind and caring. She put me on a diet change and made me buy supplements (which can be costly). I don't mind spending on vitamins if they will help me. Too soon to tell. But so far I am pleased with Dr. W. What I don't like are the prices. A 45 minute consultation will cost you about $150 with the occasional special for $130. Make sure you check online for these "specials". To get your test results you must schedule an appointment. They are very slow to return calls. They hardly answer the main office phone. You will have to leave a message and wait for your call to be returned. They are a bit faster with email. I tend to email Chiara, the manager, to handle my questions. They don't validate parking which can end up costing about $8+. I just don't get medical offices who don't validate parking, I am spending a lot of money on the consultation and have to pay for the amount of time you make me wait to be seen as well? But it's River Oaks, I shouldn't be amazed.
