I love this place! The vibe is so Italian-from the the decor to the Elvis Presley and old school music. The food was good. The bread was amazing-which sets the tone for the whole experience. This makes me very sad to say, after eating these a couple of times a week for the last few months. It went downhill fast. Unfortunately I'd say it's a sign of the times. The food isn't moving & it tends to show. Started having to send back dishes- something I hate to do. What really did it was they apparently got rid of one of the waiters (just 3) and another son (family business) took over serving tables. What really put a damper on our latest visits is this "new" waiter who I understand is another son. Well, with our first time with him taking care of our table, he made a comment about how our "meal will make us fart later." (? Really?). The next visit he told us a sex joke out of the blue. We just looked at him in shock. Again I feel this restaurant is like many, where their time has passed & COVID accelerated the poor food quality & attendance of the partitioners. We loved that we could order a cocktail, they give you bruschetta bread & salad with dinner like the old days, plus dinner & maybe ra tea & coffee for 2 for the $100 range. Hard to come by. I am truly hoping they make improvements, as it could be a great restaurant again. read more

Looking back, my 3 star review was too generous, then again it was in my early Yelp days and I felt bad but I want to be more transparent. The behavior and attitude of the staff that day were unacceptable given how much money we were spending on the event. The heat in the restaurant was unbearable and the fact that they weren't willing to put on the air was extremely unacceptable. The food was subpar for an Italian family owned restaurant. When I had sampled the one dish before we decided to make the event here, it was delicious. So I'm not sure what happened where the food for the event was so bland as if someone different cooked it. My daughter and I went here during Christmas week. Very nice interior, large room and ambience was pleasant. When we walked in Ken was there along with another gentleman who was quite gregarious. Ken took us to the table and the other gentleman came by a few minutes later. He asked my daughter what her name was and became a little enamored with her, which was a tad concerning. (He made no conversation with me nor did he ask my name). He would check on her regularly and when I went to the ladies room I came back to find him hovering over her. She became quite uncomfortable. When we went to leave he came zooming in to her asking for a hug. Fortunately she had her wits about her and said "Covid protocol - no hugs". This just made it so unpleasant for both of us. As to the food, it was good but nothing outstanding. The best item we had was the artichoke appetizer. I had a pork chop pizzaiola and the pork was dry and overcooked. Portions are very large. Ken was great and service was good. If the other young man just wasn't overly aggressive towards my daughter it would have been a much better experience. read more

If you like real Italian food this is a great little local spot. Very pleased with my experience here. Yes , the atmosphere is dated but who cares with food that good and it's clean so I can deal with an older decor. The bartender Ken was a pleasure very friendly without being annoying. Made me feel like a regular ! The lunch specials were very reasonable and a good amount of food. For $9.50 I got a nice salad and some delicious pasta with peas and zucchini of which there was enough of to take home for later! This will be someplace I come back too! read more

This was my first visit to Ossy's. It was a Friday at 12:15pm. I found the entrance by the side of the building. I was the only customer other than the two landscaper customers who came in and ate outdoors. I ordered the Farfalle de Cecco. There is a bar but I didn't feel guilty about taking up a whole table today. I enjoyed my meal while watching local cable news and listening to the slowest love songs and also a more upbeat tune in Italian. I can contrast this place to a recent visit to a burger joint that gave me mediocre food for $20. I paid around $13 here for more food of higher quality. Go figure! I enjoyed lots of bread, a salad and the main course. The owner passed by and said hello very cheerfully. read more

I was scouting this restaurant out to use for business events after someone recommended it. Friendly, warm greeting from the staff just walking in, no reservation on a week night. Quiet atmosphere, low lighting, older, dated decor that worked for the space. We ordered an appetizer, clams oreganato. The clams tasted fresh, but the taste was mostly breadcrumbs with little flavoring. For my main meal I had the chicken alla fontina (stuffed w/ spinach & fontina cheese) w/ a creamy pepper sauce. The chicken was cooked well but there was too much cheese and the flavoring of the dish was a little bland. I ended up scraping off half the cheese and not finishing. I like the people and the place. If I were to make a suggestion...the chef might want to reexamine some of same dishes they've probably been making for years. Less can be more and focus on letting the flavors come out. There's such a need in the area for good, reasonably priced Italian. read more

Upon walking in, the place was a little out dated which I didn't expect. Anyway.... Service was excellent, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. His suggestions were on the mark. Bread was fresh and the garlic bread bruschetta they brought us was very good. The fried calamari app was very good, not too crispy but not "rubbery" . My wife had the lamb chops special served with asparagus an roasted potatoes. She says it was good but was not as flavorful as she would have hoped. I had the Sirloin Alla Moda which is a steak served with a cream peppercorn sauce and roasted potatoes. I got my sirloin cooked medium and was cooked exactly that way (some places you request medium but they over/under cook it). It was not as juicy as I would have hoped but tasty none the less. I recommend it. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse cake and my wife got the Lemoncello (which was awesome) cake. Both were very good but I'll get the Lemoncello next time. It's a little pricey but not too bad. read more

We've done 3 large parties upstairs. Rooms are newer and lovely upstairs. Prices are reasonable for all you get. Staff is attentive and helpful. Downstairs the best waiter is LINDY!!! Kenny is also GREAT upstairs or downstairs (one of the owner's sons). Ask for either! Highly recommend Ossy's Café. Lost the keys to my car while parked there. Yelled at my wife because they blamed her for losing the keys. They were able to start the car but not move it as they looked for the keys. Left my car on with lights on and windows down in the rain while they were looking for the keys. The searched the tire of several cars where they leave the keys (a theft threat) only to find my keys in another car. Returned the car after a 90 minute search without apology. read more

I've been going to Ossy's with my grandparents for at least 15 years. It seems to look the same as it did back then, but the food is always good. I agree with another Yelper: the fried calamari app is delicious. The calamari isn't too crispy or too chewy - it's just right. The servers are very friendly, and they're extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They make excellent recommendations and are always accommodating. The prices are reasonable. read more
