Stopped here on my last visit to the area; this was actually my first stop after I got off the plane. I was eager for some Ohio Valley pizza because they don't have anything remotely similar in South Louisiana where I live. Overall it was slightly disappointing- the sauce was cracker-thin and crispy and the sauce was very tart. Some people might love it, but there are others with Ohio Valley style that I think are better. Give them a try for yourself and see what you think. read more

Stopped here on my way home from Morgantown and was craving a piece of pizza and this looked close to DiCarlos where I live and absolutely love. This pizza blew it out of the water! One of my favorite places, If not my favorite place to get pizza in Washington The prices are incredibly cheap....around 90 cents a slice give or take if you want extra pepperoni or extra cheese. Personally i prefer extra cheese there isn't an abundance of cheese on the pizza without it but it's really good with it. Each piece of pizza comes with one piece of pepperoni on it. It's really crisp and tasty and authentic. I highly suggest trying this pizza if you're looking for pizza in Washington. This is a cash only place but there is an ATM in there. The workers are lovely. They were nothing but hospitable as they were serving me. My pizza was made very fast and they were even busy at the time that I went. One worker in particular,a teenage boy with glasses who's name I did not catch, was very kind as I was waiting even making small talk which shows me that those leaving a bad review on the service were more than likely rude to the workers. Osso's is really my favorite pizza in the world. I grew up eating it. The sauce is really great. I wish I had the recipe. The slices are square, and there are three options - cheese, pepperoni, plus extra cheese on either of those. The crust is crispy. You can request all edges or corners. You can call your order in and then pick it up, or you can just walk in and order and milk around with the yinzers. I like to mill. read more

I'm going to clear up some of the mischaracterizations of this pizza. The style of this pizza is more commonly known as Ohio Valley pizza. This would usually be baked in large rectangular pans and sold by the slice. Cheese and pepperoni is usually (but not always) added after the bake. Those are usually the only toppings offered. The crusts can vary in thickness according local recipe but it is usually baked so you can hold this slice from these between thumb and finger(s). The guys that said this particular sauce was just tomatoes is out to lunch as is the guy that said it was sweet. This sauce is tart and slightly peppery. While this is basically the same recipe as the grandfather's place quality control is not up to what it used to be. Crusts can vary quite a bit, some pieces being wafer thin and others being up to a half inch or more thick. Some have a very thin scattering of cheese and others being almost extra cheese. Cuts vary in size by almost 30 percent. Recent world events have obviously contributed to some of this. A few years ago you could call the place, order, and say "put it on top of the oven when finished and they would give you a time and you could pick it up. That is no longer the case. If you call ahead they still don't put you in line until you walk in the door. Save your frustration. If you order OV style pizza then that is what you get. No sense complaining about the lack of toppings or flavor profiles. read more

Very underwhelmed with this place. I had heard a lot of hype and was unfortunately disappointed. You order by the number of square slices. We ordered 20 for 5 people, which was more than sufficient. We called in 30+ min prior to pick up and were given a estimate of 15-20 minutes. When we arrived the pizza hadn't even touched the oven and we ordered a classic pepperoni. Once we got the pizza, it was hot but only tasted marginally better than the freezer isle pizzas. For the price point, I would much rather go with the traditional joints (ie Dominos). read more

Been coming here 30+ years but it's a shame it seems to be going downhill. Like another reviewer I had the dried up pizza (hard crust, dried out toppings) experience a couple of weeks ago. I called and complained and they said there would be a credit held under the counter. Well yesterday, we were coming through after a trip to Ohio for the weekend and we thought we'd try it again. So we called ahead for 24 pieces. Well nothing seemed to go good once we arrived.... I'll preface and say it was about 9:30 on a Sunday night and the seemed to be close to closing....but not certain. First, the girl at the counter didn't even have my order written down. When she went to ring it in, I mentioned I had a credit waiting. She looked at me like I was kidding. She went to the back kitchen and after about 3-5 minutes she returned and said she couldn't find it....even so, she asked the situation and still honored it. While she was searching though, I stood and watched the two guys behind the counter....one was probably 25 something and the other was a teenager. The older guy was cleaning up....scraping pans and tables like they do and then this happened....he picked up the runner rug in front of the pop coolers and shook it out with his bare hands. He swept up the remains around the whole kitchen....the whole time I'm thinking to myself, "Is he going to wash his hands before he goes back and handles the food?" I asked the same about the young kid who simply assisted by holding the dustpan for the other guy while he swept. Well the answer to washing hands or even using sanitizer after handling the rug, a broom a dust pan and cleaning the floor is, 'NO'. Couldn't believe it....went straight from handling the before mentioned and the older guy started distributing the pepperoni with his filthy fingers. The young kid didn't want to be outdone so he grabbed the parmigiana with his dirty hand and threw it over the pizza. Just lovely....wasn't even worth complaining.....and just tossed the pizza out instead of eating the filth. Unbelievable read more

What a great classic pizza place! I would be happy to take anyone from out of town here. It's simple ingredients done right. I ordered cheese pizza and an Italian hoagie. The pizza was fresh out of the oven when I arrived to pick up my order. It was boxed within seconds of being out of the oven. They were swamped so I had to wait about 5-10 minutes for my order. The sauce is not overbearing and the cheese is melted perfectly. There is also Parmesan cheese already on the pizza! The Italian hoagie was equally as good as the pizza! The meats were not too salty, there was plenty of toppings and the dressing was already on the sandwich. I was very happy with everything I ordered from Osso's! The pizza is ordered by the slice and it's not a huge piece so about 3-4 pieces will fill you up. Only 85 cents per slice! read more

Best square pizza in town. The sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and crust all have great flavor. The only thing that is hit-or-miss is how well it is cooked. Osso's is typically "on" but we have had it a few times when it's just not cooked enough. Service can be slow, so be prepared to wait. Order by just saying how many slices you want or if you want extra cheese or pepperoni (or both - "extra extra"). You can also order "extra cheese in a bag" and they literally give you like a pound. We typically order 4 - 5 slices each if we're hungry. It does not disappoint as long as you know what you're getting into! read more
