Absolute Excellence. It is a very thin and crispy pizza. The sauce is delightfully tangy. The cornmeal on the bottom provides great texture as well. The amount of cheese is perfect. The pepperoni bakes into crispy cups on your pizza. They even have some of the best buffalo wings in the area. I've been patronizing this restaurant for decades and nothing changes, because it doesn't need to. Pro Tip: Order a large thick pizza with extra sauce and extra cheese. This place is quite the charming little secret. I've noticed the place for years, but had never tried it out until recently when going through the area and feeling a craving for pizza. Along with the old fashioned menu board and reasonable prices, they cook a mean pizza. One of the best I've had outside of the city as a matter of fact. On top of that, they have these delightful hot pepper cheese balls, which, after seeing a photo of them posted here on this site, I had to give them a try. I was not disappointed. The crust is thin. Much thinner than most pies I'm used to. Almost cracker like. The cheese and sauce are very light, not greasy or overwhelming and the pepperoni curled up upon being cooked, which is something I quite like in my pizzas (Mineo's does something similar in the city). We tried Jake's Pizza after reading the few reviews that were posted (13 reviews I think) and our curiosity got the better of my wife and I. The double cheese, double pepperoni and mushroom pizza is fantastic. The pepperoni are the little ones that crisp up and are simply addicting. We found out that they hand cut the mushrooms, grate the cheese and use old school Italian pepperoni, the crust is made fresh each day and as we saw it is hand tossed. We aren't locals or probably will ever be back in Belle Vernon but that pizza place will be on our personal list of great pizza spots for a long time. read more

The service here was great shop was small but food is full of flavor prices were average compared to other non chain shops so glad we finally tried there pizza it was totally worth it and they will work with you on your toppings you can split them up so u can put 2 toppings on one side and only be charged one topping and crust was amazing alot of toppings pizza taste great read more

Finally got to try this place, my buddy has been telling me about this for almost a year. I must say, amazing! Everything is so fresh. Tried the a large pizza and thier famous "poor boy" sandwich. The pizza had perfect crust , texture and flavor, the toppings were great, the good little pepperonis that curl up. The sandwich had fresh bread which was the best part. Great service, and the pizza maker Logan can toss a pie. Highly recommend! read more

Who is reviewing this place? I think this pizza tastes like cardboard. I've had it on multiple occasions and it is definitely consistent. It consistently tastes similarly to cardboard. Sorry, but anyone in this area needs to drive to Smock for pizza wagon or down to Pittsburgh for Fiori's. Honestly, Digiorno's from the grocery store is much better. I love Jake's. I grew up on Jake's. I am a lot nostalgic on this one. Just about every Friday night my mom would pile us in the car (me, my sister, & a few neighborhood kids) and off we would go. We would first go roller skating at the Piggy Wiggy (gosh did I love that place) and then on the way home it would be a stop for a snack at Jake's. It was plain pizza, a coke, and table top Ms. Pacman. It didn't get any better. The inside hasn't changed...the smell, the sign, and even the Ms. Pacman is still there. And the pizza, yummy! It is thin crust, cheesy, hot out of the oven goodness. It has even got those wonderful dough bubbles that have not popped. Always done to perfection and always fresh and hot. I wish I could give 0 stars for my experience today. We have been customers at Jake's for over 30 years. But today was the most disgusting restaurant experience I have ever had. I ordered my pizza by phone and when I went in to pick it up, the guy making the pizza has no mask. The girl who took my payment was masked. Even worse, a customer walked in maskless, talking on her cell phone, and then proceeded to walk behind the counter to the food prep area and was leaning over talking to the pizza guy. No mask!! We are trying to support small restaurants during the pandemic, but when a restaurant can't even take basic safety precautions, I cannot support them. read more

This has been My Dad& myself favorite place to get pizza since sense I can remember!! I love the thin crust and the I think it is cornmeal they put on the bottom of the crust I'm not sure what it's called. And the little tiny pepperonis they get grease in the middle LOL. If you're in or around the Belle Vernon or Rostraver because they have a shop there too I highly suggest that you try their Pizza out!! Very, VERY good pizza. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they were a little stingy with the cheese. With a little bit more cheese this just might be in my top 3-4 of all time...and I eat LOTS of pizza. Lol read more
