I ordered a large plain cheese pizza pie to pick up for my elderly 92 year young maternal aunt who lives in Ossining. The guy was nice enough over the phone taking my order. He said 25 minutes. At around 25 mins he called me back ( I hadn't arrived at the pizzeria yet to pick it up) informing me that the pie was ready. I thought that was a very nice way to follow up with me. The pie was $18.99. The pizza was solidly good. Good mozzarella cheese to Tomato sauce ratio. It was well cooked not doughy and it was okay. I'd give it a 6 out of 10 for overall taste. Ambiance nothing to write home about. Typical pizza parlor with a few chairs and tables to sit and eat at. Uncle Guiseppe's in Yorktown has a special where you can get TWO WHOLE PIES for a little over $20 and two slices and a drink for under $5. Stopped in to meet a friend on Friday night. It was busy but appropriately staffed so everything came out quickly. We were allowed to sit in the dining room which was nice since the main area was crowded with people in and out ordering. My friend and I each had an order of soup which was hot and delicious! I had the pasta fagoli which tasted so fresh. My friend had a plain slice which looked delicious and raved about the quality of cheese. I had a meatball parm roll which I loved! Watch out for surprise prices. They apparently do not update their website at all. Went in person to place a catering order and to pay cash$$. Thank god I had extra $$ on me. Catering menu online showed $99.00 for a full tray of chicken francese. When I went in person I was told with the tax that it was $161.00. The actual price was $149.99. When I questioned it they told me that the "website was wrong". wtf...never again. Especially when the majority of Italian catering for this same dish from Ossining to Cortlandt Manor averaged $95.00. Someone needs to learn how to run a business correctly because you need to update your website regularly whenever there is a price change or change of the menu, etc. You might as well hire an intern to update your website regularly because not doing that and charging a price in person that does not reflect the one on the website shows incompetence. I ordered from here tonight for the first time in a while. My online order was placed around 8:30 and a few minutes later I received a call, picked up and said hello, they said "we're closing soon" in a rude voice, and I said I was on my way and would be there in 10 minutes and click. Got there at 8:50 and all of the lights were off and the door was cracked, felt super uncomfortable and like I was an extreme inconvenience. They could have easily rejected my online order and I would have ordered elsewhere-I would have preferred that over rushing there, feeling like crap for keeping them open. The Sicilian pie is really, really good. Consistency is key and you always know you're going to get good quality food! I haven't been buying takeout due to the covid-19 pandemic, but a friend suggested Ossining pizza because they seem to be following the guidelines for safe handling of food like wearing masks for one, but sadly not got the guy in the back making your sandwich. It really upset me to see him come from the back without wearing one. As for the wedge, I ordered the Picasso. Chicken Francese with asparagus and roasted pepper. For the taste, it was very good, but for the value, it was a ripoff. Two small cutlets with (one) asparagus cut up and two small pieces of roasted pepper on a lot of bread. TL;DR: Their food is just mediocre, their customer service is terrible. My family and I have spent hundreds of dollars here over the past few months (my kitchen is being renovated right now). Yesterday, for my husband's birthday we ordered from here. I placed the order online and ordered myself a sandwich that was clearly described on the website. When the order arrived, I got a totally different sandwich. I called and explained this and the guy told me "to be honest, I don't even look at the website." So, they are ok with taking people's money from the website, but don't take any responsibility for it's accuracy? He told me he could send me the sandwich I wanted (ordered), but he didn't want to "take a loss" (i.e. I would have to pay for a new sandwich). I can't speak for the regular pizza, but the gluten free pizza (which is your basic gluten free pizza, you know about the size of a personal pizza) costs as much as a large pizza PLUS an additional charge! Take any halfway decent neighborhood pizza joint in the NY/NJ area, put it into a copy machine, and out will come Ossining Pizza. Nothing bad. Nothing great. Expect deja-vu to settle in when you eat here because, well, you've eaten here before, just under a different name, likely somewhere near your hometown. Pizza was average, but the good kind of average. My family enjoyed the chicken parm, which also looked pretty standard issue. The aspiring Vegan in me tried the Spaghetti Louisiana, minus the baby shrimp, and with whole wheat linguini instead of their regular pasta. Tossed with chopped tomatoes in an oil and garlic sauce, with the promise of being spicy thanks to a dose of red hot pepper flakes, it was exactly as bland as you might expect from a pizza joint. Slices of garlic were not thoroughly cooked, and there was hardly a hint of red pepper flakes in any bite. I blame myself for being on this health kick and thus finding myself underwhelmed by ordering such a dish. I should have just cheated and downed a few slices of pepperoni pizza instead. The thing is, back in my hometown, our neighborhood pizza joints make exceptionally good Italian food. The families all hail from Staten Island or Brooklyn, bring their ingredients in fresh from their local Italian delis, and have skilled chefs working in the kitchen. You walk in and it's a regular pizza shop. Go to the left for dessert and espresso, and to the right for a sit down restaurant. Main section: Their slices don't inspire me but that's because I'm a pain and only really like that thin crust wood fired pizza. If I'm in a rush or super hungry though I get the Chicken Vinaigrette slice- it's chunks of chicken cutlet and tomato with basil and vinaigrette drizzled over it. I also love their Pasta Fagoli soup. Restaurant: I am however, currently having a dirty illicit affair with their pastas. They have a deal on one of the weeknights (Tuesday? Wednesday?) where you can get a salad (House vinaigrette= A+) and large bowl of pasta for $10. You pick your sauce and pasta shape from the VIP secret sauce list (some of these aren't on the regular menu including my favorite one unfortunately) and go to town. If I'm there on special sauce night I always get the Tomato & cream sauce with chicken Farfalle but otherwise I'm loyal to the Gnocchi Bolognese. Maybe one day I'll branch out and mix it up but probably not. Cafe: If I can practice self control (very rare) I like to get gelato in the little dessert shop attached. The pistachio flavor is delicious but you really can't go wrong with any of them.
