A staff member goes around the mini auditorium to ensure everyone gets a chance to pet the unique creatures while offering fun facts about each one. We also got to watch a few of them being fed by a "Reptillia staff in training" who was in elementary school (very cool to see they have programs/ opportunities like this for kids to further drive their interest in learning about these reptiles). We walked through the whole place in under an hour. There is a gift shop on site as well as an outdoor playground (seasonal). Oddly enough, the highlight of our experience here was the end of the path - a little indoor playground! It featured a small play structure, mirror maze and climbing area with fun mirrors. The kids did not want to leave and I think they spent more time there than they did walking through the exhibit. No food options onsite but there are a few tables at the entrance where you can eat your own packed snacks.

They have a maximum of 10 people inside at a time (according to their website) however even though we booked a specific time frame, there was pretty clearly more than 10 people inside. Unlike some other zoos we went too, there was no real path to follow. It's basically a giant square with a small square on the inside. The outline of the larger square is filled with fenced in animals, and the inner square has fenced animals as well. Although its understandable they have an admission fee for the upkeep of the animals, I feel it should have included the feed. Other zoos are free admission and only charge for feed (ie. high park) so in terms of value, this is a bit below par. Finally, I would never say the animals are aggressive, however when trying to feed the goats, one of them bit the entire feed bag and ripped it away. As I'm an adult, this is fine as I am agile and athletic, however a small child could have easily gotten injured, so perhaps some more training would suffice.

Norman, the owner, has a very extensive family of animal and bird friends and he loves to share them with the children who come to visit. $8.00 per person is the admission price and for that you get unlimited access to chicks from several breeds of chickens, geese, ducks, pigeons and turkeys. Can you pet them? Of course you can. Can you pet chicks, and even pick them up chicks and hold them in your hand? Yes, of course you can. Can you feed any of them? Yes, of course you can. In the 120 year-old barn adults can see and appreciate how the wood was cut and fitted by hand in the nineteenth century: wood pins hold it together, not metal nails. Head back to the corner of the barn and you will find some zip-lines for the children to enjoy. and liberal hay on the floor to protect them in case they fall off. A fifty-year old black walnut stands outside, with bird houses across it, and ropes to swing from, while rope hammocks await nearby for those that get tired. Is it all perfect? Not quite: there are no washrooms with running water. Just the old-style wood privvies, with hand-wash lotions outside.. Is a visit worthwhile? It is beyond any expectation. I have not even heard of anything that delivers this much, at any price, anywhere. Children and adults will be treated to an enjoyment that cannot be found in any commercial farm or zoo anywhere in the GTA, perhaps even all of Ontario.. Taking the ferry to Centre Island is affordable and quick. It was only $9.00 CAD for round trip tickets, and there were 3 points of entry: Centre Island, Ward's Island and Hanlan's Point. We chose to take the Centre Island ferry on a Friday morning. It was very packed but the loading and unloading of passengers was efficient, so things seemed to move pretty quickly. One of the first things you notice about the island are all the bike paths. There are ample opportunities to rent bikes for the day, and we saw many people taking advantage of that. But, if renting bikes isn't on your list, there are plenty of other activities that are totally free. There was also an old lighthouse and a hedge maze to explore. There are also boardwalks leading out to Lake Ontario's coastline where you can get some amazing views into the seemingly endless lake or the Toronto skyline. There were some dining options like pizza or beaver tails, but we opted to skip the food options and have lunch on the mainland. One thing I would note is while we didn't see any personally; a fellow pedestrian jumped when he said he saw a snake in the grass, so if you stray from the paved paths, I would keep an eye out for that. We walked all the way to Hanlan's Point and took the ferry back from that point to the main terminal. It was quick and easy, and made for a fun little morning adventure. What a fantastic resource to have a nice grouping of islands where nature can be experienced right by the water. I loved my trip to Centre Island and to a greater extent, Toronto Island Park. It's definitely worth the visit to get out of the city and indulge in more nature-centric activities.

We were warmly greeted by an employee whom asked if we needed any help with directions when we entered. It was very quick and no line to enter or exit since we bought tickets and parking online. The size of the enclosures actually seems decent. The animals seemed happy. The wolves were playing together in the snow. The polar bears were wrestling. It felt quite special to see those animals thriving in the snow. The zoo has many paved paths and signs. They also give you a paper map when you first enter. Since it was winter make sure to enter the inside facilities to see more. The restrooms were warm and clean! They even had a way to call if a restroom needed service. For three adults it was about $96 CAD. We spent probably two hours there and saw almost everything. Although we went on a weekend, it wasn't very crowded (likely due to the cold). It looks like a very well maintained zoo that's only 15 min drive from Little Portugal, Toronto. It was a fun time!

She was literally rolling her eyes at a customer that was on the phone for asking questions, speaking very rudely and did not answer their questions. Stated she would answer their questions when they arrive and abruptly hung up. Did not greet me and just said " how many". After paying for my tickets I asked a simple question regarding the mini golf as it was our first time. She answered very shortly with an attitude as if I'm dumb for even asking. If I were management I would take her off front desk and have her clean the croc feces. Never returning due to this horrible experience.
