When we came here in early January 2026 it was snowing, parts of the zoo were closed (Mayan…read moreTemple), and sections were under construction. We were warmly greeted by an employee whom asked if we needed any help with directions when we entered. It was very quick and no line to enter or exit since we bought tickets and parking online. The size of the enclosures actually seems decent. The animals seemed happy. The wolves were playing together in the snow. The polar bears were wrestling. It felt quite special to see those animals thriving in the snow. The zoo has many paved paths and signs. They also give you a paper map when you first enter. Since it was winter make sure to enter the inside facilities to see more. The restrooms were warm and clean! They even had a way to call if a restroom needed service. For three adults it was about $96 CAD. We spent probably two hours there and saw almost everything. Although we went on a weekend, it wasn't very crowded (likely due to the cold). It looks like a very well maintained zoo that's only 15 min drive from Little Portugal, Toronto. It was a fun time!

For an additional fee on top of admission, you can ride the zoo mobile which takes you from one part of the zoo to the other. Theyre also working on the board walk to help connect the furthest points of the zoo to one another. Lots of great additions over the years. Theres even a huge splash pad! Seasons pass would get you the most bang for your buck. Pays for itself in just 2-3 visits. Been here during all seasons and its always a great time. Open all year round. Limited food options but they have beavertails!

Lionel Petting Zoo is only in operation from May until October, which makes sense as it looks like…read morethe whole zoo is outdoors. They have a maximum of 10 people inside at a time (according to their website) however even though we booked a specific time frame, there was pretty clearly more than 10 people inside. Unlike some other zoos we went too, there was no real path to follow. It's basically a giant square with a small square on the inside. The outline of the larger square is filled with fenced in animals, and the inner square has fenced animals as well. Although its understandable they have an admission fee for the upkeep of the animals, I feel it should have included the feed. Other zoos are free admission and only charge for feed (ie. high park) so in terms of value, this is a bit below par. Finally, I would never say the animals are aggressive, however when trying to feed the goats, one of them bit the entire feed bag and ripped it away. As I'm an adult, this is fine as I am agile and athletic, however a small child could have easily gotten injured, so perhaps some more training would suffice.

You get to choose time slot and we only got 45 mins before we had to leave which was plenty of time mind you since it was really hot. Extra $5 for a bag of feed to feed the animals. My son enjoyed looking at the animals but I wish the price was per person so I don't have to pay the same amount even if I have a smaller family.

Tip - if drive out of the lot and turn right, there is a lane way that takes you to the parking. The process for check in was smooth and we were led to start of the trail. They only allow a handful to go in each time. Here is my honest review. Do I think it was worth the price? Hm some aspects yes and others not so much. The story is you are in the future etc and through out the walk the story really was not captivating. Some features especially at the beginning were absolutely mesmerizing and others not so much. I have done a similar experiences else where and this was underwhelming. Overall, it was a calming experience but I will not return to experience again.

COVID-19 has been hitting many people hard. Among the hardest...the influencers. No more travel…read morevlog pics. No more #sponsored events. Life is hard as a pandemic era influencer. But fear not, what if I tell you of an event with unlimited photo opportunities and filter friendly imagery, while being outdoors and compliant with all social distancing restrictions. Terra Lumina is a marvelous lightshow, perfect for taking and tagging photos. Located within the Toronto Zoo and run by Moment Factory, it's 1.5km of beautiful light effects that glitter, glow, pulsate, and illuminate. It is a night walk experience that surrounds you with video projections, immersive storytelling, and ambient sounds and music. This year's theme centered around being the change today for a better tomorrow. There were light fixtures that made you feel like you were in a future world where nature rebounds and thrives, while music created by Indigenous artists created the perfect backdrop. While we couldn't see any animals, the zoo was the perfect place to convey the message about saving the earth. Even if options weren't limited right now, this was a wonderful event with a poignant message in the perfect setting. For $30, we had a beautiful experience for about an hour and a half...and of course, some really fantastic pictures to post on social media.

Where else can you feed a giraffe!…read more This place is cute, not as enriching at the Toronto Zoo but it's small walk around outside with opportunities to feed some animals. I was excited to visit this place and feed the giraffes and zebras, anything else is a bonus. Was impressed and also sad, they had two kinds of Lions, leopards, tigers, cougars and a bunch of other animals. The enclosure for the big cats was not stimulating for them and you can't help feel bad for them, but they are mostly sleeping the whole time. The entrance is also the gift shop and exit. Ask for change into loonies specifically there, to pay for coin operated pellet feed at three locations throughout the park. What's neat and unique here, is they sell cute plastic souvenir buckets with simple food for the animals. It's $10 to start and you keep the souvenir bucket or $7 for a refill. We got one banana, a romaine leaf, shredded/slim carrots, (no ice cream) cone. You are not allowed to feed the animals food from home for safety reasons. Feeding some of the animals was difficult as there is separation 3-4 ft from the cage and wires. You can see failed attempts that bounced off the wires onto the ground, that some animals cannot reach. Find a stick and help the poor little animals get their snack. Some animals were more hungry than others. Some of the monkeys could even catch your banana chunk if thrown to them. TIP: giraffes are hungry and interested in the morning, but by 2:30pm, they seemed full and migrate to the opposite side of the fence. They go inside at night, so they seem to wait there until then. Washrooms: only one building in the whole park, it's flushing and clean enough. Smells like washroom chemicals. Near the tigers by the entrance. Two foot pump washing stations around the park by the goats and giraffes. Food: nothing inside the pavilion, bring your own snacks or picnic. There's a food truck outside, fair prices for ice cream($4-6$ and hot dogs($5)
