I have used Osgood Hill Farm for mowing and yard care for several years. One thing I can say is they are economical and dependably come around the two days that they promise. Unfortunately asking them to move lawn chairs etc. isn't always well received and it's hard to know exactly when I have to clear things. If I'm not there they don't' mow or weed wack near our pool, trampoline, boat or trailer. Also they do not pick up grass and their edge trimming is sloppy unless you point it out and make them go back. If you ask about having beds cut and edged and bed mounds made they don't get back to you. I needed major help with readying for an event and never heard back.
This year I called to be put on the list for mowing. Since I received no call back, I stopped at their Farm. I met the owner at his home and I told him that I had paid late last year but am current and that I would be happy to pay half a summer upfront if that would please him.
Mr. Silva roundly lectured me. Not only had I paid late, but I was calling the home number, not their business, and I should know better. He also said that I was late calling two weeks before Memorial Day for mowing and that they had been mowing for weeks. I told him we had not received notification of them taking customers again this year and I think I got their phone number off a google listing.
The owner not only berated me but was so forbidding that when he agreed to put me on the list, I said that maybe I should just try elsewhere first.
If someone's mowing your lawn do you really want to have to keep after them or do part of it yourself? And if you are kind and try to work with them you shouldn't have to worry about being treated poorly. read more
