Visited this location Sunday morning about 9am after church for a quick breakfast bite. The place was clean and the employee was friendly and helpful, I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast burrito with hash browns. The food came out within a few minutes hot and fresh, I would have liked some seasoning on the eggs but I guess that's what the salsa bar is for. I tried the green, red, and mild chunky salsa's all of which were flavorful. For under $10 my meal came with a drink and chips, plus salsa bar. Overall I was happy with the value and quality, next time I'll bring my own salt and pepper for the eggs. read more

Let me preface this by saying my wife and I were regulars at Rosie's Taco Shop. We went often enough that we became familiar with some of the employees, and they even remembered our orders. So when we heard Oscar's was related to Rosie's, we were excited to give it a try. I have a pretty simple baseline for Mexican restaurants: How are the tacos? How is the salsa? How is the horchata? We'll get to whether Oscar's passed that test in a moment. First, the drive-thru. The speaker was laughably quiet. I'm talking "listening for a mouse to take your order" quiet. Worse, every time I tried to clarify something, the employee would interrupt and attempt to finish my sentence--usually incorrectly. Once we finally made it through the ordering process, I pulled around to the window. We received our food, minus the drinks, and I already had a feeling something would be wrong. How could the order be accurate when I couldn't finish a sentence while placing it? Sure enough, we were missing the combo portion of one meal, our tacos were incorrect, and our drinks hadn't been given to us. Trying to explain the mistakes became another exercise in frustration because the cashier continued attempting to finish my sentences--and continued guessing incorrectly. Eventually, I became visibly frustrated. To her credit, she apologized, and we ultimately received the correct order. Unfortunately, the food didn't do much to redeem the experience. The crispy shredded beef tacos were decent, but nothing to write home about. The beans had good flavor. The rice was extremely bland and had an almost microwaved quality to it. The red salsa had adequate flavor, but lacked the bite I want from a good salsa. The horchata was decent enough, but I've had much better at plenty of other establishments. And then there was the elote. Atrocious. The mayo was watery, the entire thing lacked flavor, and my wife and I ultimately deemed it inedible and threw it away. So, how did Oscar's fare against my Mexican restaurant baseline? Tacos? Decent. Salsa? Adequate. Horchata? Fine. Nothing was bad enough to condemn the restaurant on those three alone, but nothing was good enough to make me eager to return, either. So after all of that, would I go back? Possibly. The service was frustrating enough to keep me away, and the food was forgettable enough not to bring me back. But because of our history with Rosie's, part of me feels like Oscar's deserves another shot before I completely write it off. We shall see. read more

I used the drive thru and ordered the veggie fries (no sour cream) and the street corn. They misheard me and I got a fish taco by happy accident. The taco was overpowered by the toppings and the tortilla was a bit stale. The corn was great after some generous mixing. The fries themselves look a bit undercooked and without the toppings, the fries were under-seasoned (didn't taste like much). Their salsas though had a lot of great flavor and spice! read more

Oscar's Fresh Mex is a legit taco spot and definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for something fast, flavorful, and satisfying. I tried the carne asada taco, carnitas taco, and the three rolled beef tacos. The carne asada was the star of the show--super flavorful, juicy, and just overall delicious. The carnitas taco was also very good, just not quite as mind-blowing as the carne asada. The rolled tacos (taquito-style) were crunchy, topped with shredded lettuce and guac, and really hit the spot, especially after a quick trip to the salsa bar. Speaking of the salsa bar--that's a big plus. Multiple salsas, so you can tweak the heat and flavor to your liking. Some of the food really pops once you add the right salsa. The only real letdown was the street corn. I was expecting classic elote-style and it turned out to be something different and just okay. Not terrible, just not something I'd order again. My wife's carne asada bowl was huge and packed with flavor--a great option if you're hungry and want something more substantial than tacos. Overall, I'd absolutely go back to Oscar's Fresh Mex, especially to work my way through more of their taco options. If you go, start with anything carne asada, load up at the salsa bar, and you'll be in good shape. read more

The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the special for Wednesday. It was a very welcoming and family atmosphere. 3 Stars- The asada taco and fish taco were simply okay. The asada had almost no flavor or seasoning. The ingredients all tasted good and had good flavor. I would have liked more of a char on the asada as well. The fish was nicely fried, good ingredients again, but nothing special. 4 Stars - the birria taco was great. Crispy and packed with flavor. I would just get three of these! The bean and cheese burrito was not next level, but, the size was crazy and only for $1.99 on Wednesdays! Chips and salsa bar is self serve which is pretty neat too. I will definitely be back for their daily specials and birria tacos! 3*** = Just Okay 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there! read more

Customer service was good! Got our food quickly. Portion sizes were excellent and everything tasted good! We would come back again to grab something quick. We decided to order surf and turf fries and a carne asada quesadilla. Super easy to share and was filling. The inside is clean and had a cute mural on the wall that highlights Verrado perfectly! We are happy that something is finally back in that space. read more

What exceptional Mexican food! OMG- there is a lot of it in every dish! We got our dishes to go and enjoyed them for a couple of extra meals! We got our food to go. The service was solid. They do have seating, but we didn't take advantage of it this trip. We will keep eating at Oscar's! read more

Oscar's is great for casual tasty Mexican at a great value - and complimentary chips! The bowl is giant and plenty to split. The tacos are also very good and not as giant is their sibling Rosie's tacos place - in a good way. My favorite salsa is the creamy green salsa. It's got a kick but not overwhelming. read more

Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this place is! We went on taco Tuesday and got the $8.49 special which comes with 4 street tacos and a drink. What a deal for the amount of food you get! The flavor of the pastor was delicious and the meat itself was very tender. The salsa bar had a lot of great options, all of which had amazing flavor. We will be making a habit of going to taco Tuesday at Oscar's! read more

Oscar's Fresh Mex - Pastor tacos, loaded with meat and double tortilla - Fast Food Near Me - Litchfield Park, Arizona

Oscar's Fresh Mex has changed a bit since it was taken over with a new company/manager. The food is still good as Oscar's Taco Shop. The food quality and servings are still quite a bit, but I'm not complaining what so ever! The breakfast burrito of sausage, eggs and cheese was delish. The portion sizes didn't change either. You may want to try the grilled chicken taco salad with rice and the fixings. You'll be hurting a lil bit after eating such a huge salad, but it will be well worth it. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. The cashier is very professional and courteous. read more

Service was great. Welcomed with a smile. The same people own another Mexican spot in my neighborhood and I really dislike their food as does my hubby so I was a bit apprehensive to try Oscar's. I had the chicken tacos - really not a whole lot of flavor but their verde salsa is really good and made it a good taco. I had to jump on a business call so I wasn't there to the hubby's review on the beef tacos / just walked by and he said that they were "okay" We both agreed - not a place we would have to go to again but glad we tried it read more

This is the second time going there and it wasn't good, I'm sorry. I got the order of the 4 carne asada tacos and the meat was dry and the tortillas were either old or not cooked well. It wasn't fresh at all. read more

Everything. This was a big disappointment. The meat was hard in the carne Asada quesadilla My husband's AZ Buritto had diced potatoes that were hard like plastic. The horchata was watered down. First and last time. 0/10 do not recommend Service was mediocre read more

Average service but quick. I ordered the Wednesday Special, bean & cheese burrito. It was kinda dry and average taste. But for $3.25, I guess it was ok. Probably would not get it again. I have eaten here before, the carne asada tacos are great. read more

Oscar's Fresh Mex - Wednesday Special Bean & Cheese Burrito - Fast Food Near Me - Litchfield Park, Arizona

I love Oscar's. (But I repeat myself. I love the one in Surprise, too.) New location near Fry's on Indian School and Jackrabbit. The Plus Clean, new, restaurant. The attendant at the counter was very pleasant. She helpfully told me about upcoming specials. I just had a bean and cheese burrito, simple fare, but I'm addicted to their tortillas. They are substantial--and having been heated just right on the grill--have that toothiness that I love. (Like a good bagel -- you take a bite and the bite doesn't just come along peacefully -- no, there's resistance!). Appropriate amount of beans and cheese filling. The tortilla and its folding kept filling from leaking out anywhere. Decent portion size Offering a bunch of specials during the week, with pretty good prices. The Minus A little slow on the delivery. Meh, not a big deal. I wish the area where wait after ordering had a bit more room to it. With just a few people waiting, we were invading the dining area in maintaining our personal space. The packaging was excessive. Burrito wrapped in paper, inserted into a small paper bag, inserted into a plastic bag. Ditch the paper bag. Save a tree. Or use a bigger paper bag and ditch the plastic bag. Bottom Line: go to Oscar's and try something! Love their rolled tacos, their street tacos and their fish tacos. read more

What an amazing little great food yet FREAKY FAST Mexican restaurants I e ever been to!!! Try it! You won't regret this food

Oscar's Fresh Mex Is a hit not a miss! I've only used the drive thru so far and each time been greeted by courteous workers with helpful menu selections. The food, in my opinión, is California Mexican style which makes sense as this restaurant is an extension of Rosie's Taco Shop over on Main. I've eaten the fish tacos, the Carne Asada quesadilla, the Chili Rellano combination, and the Rolled Taco platter. One fish taco will fill you up and two people can easily split the quesadilla or make two meals out of it. While the "rolled tacos" (aka taquitos) were a miss for me, the Chile Rellano combination with rice and beans and everything else has been delicious. The prices are reasonable and I look forward to this drive thru/sit in Restaurant doing quite well once the neighborhood discovers it. . read more

Got the street tacos and soft drink special. Left much to be desired. The food was so lacking in flavor. If they attempted to season it, it didn't come through. Star of the show was the red onion.. not even the salsa saved it. Went through the drive thru so can't really speak on the service. Will say the size of a regular drink was quite small. Overall wouldn't come back again. read more

Since Oscars has been there, they haven't been really any issues but last Saturday morning we were headed out of town so we stopped to get some breakfast burritos with some friends that we ordered over the phone to pick up... every breakfast burrito that I ordered, which was five of them we're all wrong and the breakfast burritos that our friends ordered were not only also wrong, but one of them had a gravel rock in it, and they kind of refused to do anything about it they eventually gave my friend back his money for his burrito... they should've copped his whole family's food for having them all wait for him to work out the situation their food got cold read more

We have had the following dishes, Carna Asada Street Tacos (rating 10) and the Pollo Asada, Rolled Tacos (rating 10), Hard Tacos (Carna Asada and Pollo) (rating 8.5) and Bean Tostada (rating 8). We could eat there all week very well for little expense compared to other restaurants. The reason for the 8.5 Tacos rating is because I like fried taco shell and these are not, same for the Bean Tostada. The specials meals are money savers and great food. read more

Place is super good and really cheap before 10am on these breakfast burritos. Really clean.

I have eaten here quite a few times since they opened. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is always very clean. I eat a lot of tacos all over the Phoenix area. They have really good tacos here. I have ordered the carne asada street taco meal several times. It comes with 4 street tacos and a pepper. The last several times I have ordered the regular size tacos. They are pretty big. I leave very full eating 3 and I am a big eater. The Carne Asada is excellent. The shrimp and fish tacos are even better. I recently brought some friend's that were in town from Wisconsin. They said they were the best tacos they have ever had. read more

Everything was great! Our first time here. We had a newcomers coupon because we just moved here. They offer free chips and free salsa. I had the fish taco. Even though the fish was breaded and I usually prefer grilled fish they were really good. Not greasy, light breading and two whole pieces of fish in one taco. I couldn't eat it all. My husband had the 4 street tacos and said the carne asada was very good. We will definitely go back! Good food. Great prices! read more
