Oscar's Fresh Mex is a legit taco spot and definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for something fast, flavorful, and satisfying. I tried the carne asada taco, carnitas taco, and the three rolled beef tacos. The carne asada was the star of the show--super flavorful, juicy, and just overall delicious. The carnitas taco was also very good, just not quite as mind-blowing as the carne asada. The rolled tacos (taquito-style) were crunchy, topped with shredded lettuce and guac, and really hit the spot, especially after a quick trip to the salsa bar. Speaking of the salsa bar--that's a big plus. Multiple salsas, so you can tweak the heat and flavor to your liking. Some of the food really pops once you add the right salsa. The only real letdown was the street corn. I was expecting classic elote-style and it turned out to be something different and just okay. Not terrible, just not something I'd order again. My wife's carne asada bowl was huge and packed with flavor--a great option if you're hungry and want something more substantial than tacos. Overall, I'd absolutely go back to Oscar's Fresh Mex, especially to work my way through more of their taco options. Oscar's Fresh Mex has changed a bit since it was taken over with a new company/manager. The food is still good as Oscar's Taco Shop. The food quality and servings are still quite a bit, but I'm not complaining what so ever! The breakfast burrito of sausage, eggs and cheese was delish. The portion sizes didn't change either. You may want to try the grilled chicken taco salad with rice and the fixings. You'll be hurting a lil bit after eating such a huge salad, but it will be well worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the special for Wednesday. It was a very welcoming and family atmosphere. 3 Stars- The asada taco and fish taco were simply okay. The asada had almost no flavor or seasoning. The ingredients all tasted good and had good flavor. I would have liked more of a char on the asada as well. The fish was nicely fried, good ingredients again, but nothing special. 4 Stars - the birria taco was great. Crispy and packed with flavor. I would just get three of these! The bean and cheese burrito was not next level, but, the size was crazy and only for $1.99 on Wednesdays! Chips and salsa bar is self serve which is pretty neat too. Oscar's is great for casual tasty Mexican at a great value - and complimentary chips! The bowl is giant and plenty to split. The tacos are also very good and not as giant is their sibling Rosie's tacos place - in a good way. My favorite salsa is the creamy green salsa. It's got a kick but not overwhelming. read more

Wow, I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this place is! We went on taco Tuesday and got the $8.49 special which comes with 4 street tacos and a drink. What a deal for the amount of food you get! The flavor of the pastor was delicious and the meat itself was very tender. The salsa bar had a lot of great options, all of which had amazing flavor. Oscar's Fresh Mex Is a hit not a miss! I've only used the drive thru so far and each time been greeted by courteous workers with helpful menu selections. The food, in my opinión, is California Mexican style which makes sense as this restaurant is an extension of Rosie's Taco Shop over on Main. I've eaten the fish tacos, the Carne Asada quesadilla, the Chili Rellano combination, and the Rolled Taco platter. One fish taco will fill you up and two people can easily split the quesadilla or make two meals out of it. While the "rolled tacos" (aka taquitos) were a miss for me, the Chile Rellano combination with rice and beans and everything else has been delicious. The prices are reasonable and I look forward to this drive thru/sit in Restaurant doing quite well once the neighborhood discovers it. . read more

We have had the following dishes, Carna Asada Street Tacos (rating 10) and the Pollo Asada, Rolled Tacos (rating 10), Hard Tacos (Carna Asada and Pollo) (rating 8.5) and Bean Tostada (rating 8). We could eat there all week very well for little expense compared to other restaurants. The reason for the 8.5 Tacos rating is because I like fried taco shell and these are not, same for the Bean Tostada. The specials meals are money savers and great food. read more

I have eaten here quite a few times since they opened. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is always very clean. I eat a lot of tacos all over the Phoenix area. They have really good tacos here. I have ordered the carne asada street taco meal several times. It comes with 4 street tacos and a pepper. The last several times I have ordered the regular size tacos. They are pretty big. I leave very full eating 3 and I am a big eater. The Carne Asada is excellent. The shrimp and fish tacos are even better. I recently brought some friend's that were in town from Wisconsin. They said they were the best tacos they have ever had. read more

Everything was great! Our first time here. We had a newcomers coupon because we just moved here. They offer free chips and free salsa. I had the fish taco. Even though the fish was breaded and I usually prefer grilled fish they were really good. Not greasy, light breading and two whole pieces of fish in one taco. I couldn't eat it all.
