The place was clean and the employee was friendly and helpful, I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast burrito with hash browns. The food came out within a few minutes hot and fresh, I would have liked some seasoning on the eggs but I guess that's what the salsa bar is for. I tried the green, red, and mild chunky salsa's all of which were flavorful. For under $10 my meal came with a drink and chips, plus salsa bar. Overall I was happy with the value and quality, next time I'll bring my own salt and pepper for the eggs. read more

I used the drive thru and ordered the veggie fries (no sour cream) and the street corn. They misheard me and I got a fish taco by happy accident. The taco was overpowered by the toppings and the tortilla was a bit stale. The corn was great after some generous mixing. Oscar's Fresh Mex is a legit taco spot and definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for something fast, flavorful, and satisfying. I tried the carne asada taco, carnitas taco, and the three rolled beef tacos. The carne asada was the star of the show--super flavorful, juicy, and just overall delicious. The carnitas taco was also very good, just not quite as mind-blowing as the carne asada. The rolled tacos (taquito-style) were crunchy, topped with shredded lettuce and guac, and really hit the spot, especially after a quick trip to the salsa bar. Speaking of the salsa bar--that's a big plus. Multiple salsas, so you can tweak the heat and flavor to your liking. Some of the food really pops once you add the right salsa. The only real letdown was the street corn. I was expecting classic elote-style and it turned out to be something different and just okay. Not terrible, just not something I'd order again. My wife's carne asada bowl was huge and packed with flavor--a great option if you're hungry and want something more substantial than tacos. Overall, I'd absolutely go back to Oscar's Fresh Mex, especially to work my way through more of their taco options. The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the special for Wednesday. It was a very welcoming and family atmosphere. 3 Stars- The asada taco and fish taco were simply okay. The asada had almost no flavor or seasoning. The ingredients all tasted good and had good flavor. I would have liked more of a char on the asada as well. The fish was nicely fried, good ingredients again, but nothing special. 4 Stars - the birria taco was great. Crispy and packed with flavor. I would just get three of these! The bean and cheese burrito was not next level, but, the size was crazy and only for $1.99 on Wednesdays! Chips and salsa bar is self serve which is pretty neat too. Oscar's Fresh Mex has changed a bit since it was taken over with a new company/manager. The food is still good as Oscar's Taco Shop. The food quality and servings are still quite a bit, but I'm not complaining what so ever! The breakfast burrito of sausage, eggs and cheese was delish. The portion sizes didn't change either. You may want to try the grilled chicken taco salad with rice and the fixings. You'll be hurting a lil bit after eating such a huge salad, but it will be well worth it. The attendant at the counter was very pleasant. She helpfully told me about upcoming specials. I just had a bean and cheese burrito, simple fare, but I'm addicted to their tortillas. They are substantial--and having been heated just right on the grill--have that toothiness that I love. (Like a good bagel -- you take a bite and the bite doesn't just come along peacefully -- no, there's resistance!). Appropriate amount of beans and cheese filling. The tortilla and its folding kept filling from leaking out anywhere. Decent portion size Offering a bunch of specials during the week, with pretty good prices. The Minus A little slow on the delivery. Meh, not a big deal. I wish the area where wait after ordering had a bit more room to it. With just a few people waiting, we were invading the dining area in maintaining our personal space. The packaging was excessive. Burrito wrapped in paper, inserted into a small paper bag, inserted into a plastic bag. Ditch the paper bag. Save a tree. Or use a bigger paper bag and ditch the plastic bag. Oscar's Fresh Mex Is a hit not a miss! I've only used the drive thru so far and each time been greeted by courteous workers with helpful menu selections. The food, in my opinión, is California Mexican style which makes sense as this restaurant is an extension of Rosie's Taco Shop over on Main. I've eaten the fish tacos, the Carne Asada quesadilla, the Chili Rellano combination, and the Rolled Taco platter. One fish taco will fill you up and two people can easily split the quesadilla or make two meals out of it. While the "rolled tacos" (aka taquitos) were a miss for me, the Chile Rellano combination with rice and beans and everything else has been delicious. We have had the following dishes, Carna Asada Street Tacos (rating 10) and the Pollo Asada, Rolled Tacos (rating 10), Hard Tacos (Carna Asada and Pollo) (rating 8.5) and Bean Tostada (rating 8). We could eat there all week very well for little expense compared to other restaurants. The reason for the 8.5 Tacos rating is because I like fried taco shell and these are not, same for the Bean Tostada. The specials meals are money savers and great food. read more

I have eaten here quite a few times since they opened. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is always very clean. I eat a lot of tacos all over the Phoenix area. They have really good tacos here. I have ordered the carne asada street taco meal several times. It comes with 4 street tacos and a pepper. The last several times I have ordered the regular size tacos. They are pretty big. I leave very full eating 3 and I am a big eater. The Carne Asada is excellent. The shrimp and fish tacos are even better. I recently brought some friend's that were in town from Wisconsin. They said they were the best tacos they have ever had. read more

Everything was great! Our first time here. We had a newcomers coupon because we just moved here. They offer free chips and free salsa. I had the fish taco. Even though the fish was breaded and I usually prefer grilled fish they were really good. Not greasy, light breading and two whole pieces of fish in one taco. I couldn't eat it all.
