Food was great and service was top tier. Friendly, welcoming, and I loved the music and atmosphere.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant wasn't busy and sat in a booth. The restaurant is tucked in an industrial area surrounded by commercial buildings. They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. You order at the register, then the food is delivered to your table. Unfortunately their menu board was very dim, but they have a QR code. Thankfully Yelper's photos helped me make a decision on what I wanted. We ordered Chilaquiles with side order of Birria (both sauces, half red, half green) and the ABC omelette. Chilaquiles were delicious, wished I had ordered just the green sauce as it was tasty. The beans were just as yummy as the sauce. The ABC omelette wasn't overly spectacular but the home fries (cubed potatoes) made up for the omelette. Bonus there's a salsa bar with pickled jalapeños and carrots, cucumber slices, radishes, limes, avocado salsa, green salsa, red salsa and a spicy red salsa. The salsa cups are tiny and hard to pour salsa into. Tapatio sauce is on the table with salt and pepper. The staff/possible owners were the nicest people. Came by the table several times to check to see if we needed anything. I asked for a sample of their rice. As many people know most Mexican restaurants have dry unflavored rice. We were given a side of rice which was moist and flavorful. They didn't even charge us even though I insisted we did. Over all I would suggest you try this hidden gem. We are definitely coming back as I want to try a simple bean and cheese burrito with that yummy green sauce. read more

Tried Oscar Cafe for breakfast and it did not disappoint. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was really solid--great flavor, well-balanced, and clearly made fresh. The ingredients tasted quality and everything just worked together. The spot itself has a cozy, laid-back vibe, and you can tell it's a family-owned place that takes pride in what they serve. Loved it. We got the blackened shrimp burrito and the fish wrap (basically a fish burrito) and both were excellent. Fresh salsas made in-house. Sad we were too late on a Sunday to grab the birria but gives us an excuse to come back! Friendly, family-run place. Parking on-site. Highly recommended. Only thing to note was that the chips were slightly oily but didn't detract from a delicious lunch after a morning at the beach. read more

Wanted a good, quick breakfast. Oscar cafe did not disappoint! We ordered a French toast meal with bacon and eggs & a small order of pancakes with an egg and bacon. The French toast was really good! Zero notes for Oscar Cafe. The service and food were both great! I had the steak burrito with the house potatoes; the burrito was very good and the house potatoes were seasoned perfectly. They have a salsa bar that has a few heat options; I tried the green and red salsa, and both had great flavor. The red salsa was spicy so if you have a low tolerance for heat, I would recommend the other salsa offerings. The restaurant itself offers indoor and outdoor seating; the indoor is homey, and the outdoor seating is covered by umbrellas. I would highly recommend this spot for some great mexican food and I plan to return whenever I'm in the area! read more

My friend and I tried Oscar Cafe for the first time today. I had the French toast combo and coffee and she had quesadillas, coffee and a side of fries. Everything tasted great, the setting was really nice and the place was clean. It's mom's and pop's restaurant and the owners (I presumed) were absolutely fantastic, they kept checking on us and asked numerous times if we needed anything else. This place gives a whole new meaning to hidden gem. Hidden for sure, there's only one way to find this place, you take an inconspicuous side street called Griffin off Slater and it bends and twists around and ends up on Sampson in a heavily industrial area. It could not look more out of place! It's a cool looking little place though with a nice, comfortable atmosphere inside. The first time I went there I got the Berria Ramen which was delicious. Tried it again later and got a carnitas taco and chorizo breakfast burrito. Both were solid choices, not the best I ever had but very good. I got a side of home fried potatoes which were addictive. I was struck by how fresh tasting everything was. The Mexican gentleman working there was awesome and when I talked about a possible special future order he said we will make it however you want. My son said the gentleman at the restaurant explained what all the salsas were and was very helpful. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked. My favorite new spot, great Mexican food and it's a family owned! The owners care greatly about their customers and give 100% food, customer service and It's a hidden gem really worth trying. Located in a very unassuming industrial neighborhood, we thought we were lost when we were looking for Oscars. It's a very cute little building with a nice patio in front. They seem to be dog friendly. Menu is not too expansive but had a good variety. We ordered the huevos rancheros and the egg scramble. Food was good and prices average, not super expensive but not that cheap either . My huevos rancheros was almost $14, I would have expected two portions of the eggs but it only had one. However it was very delicious. What really stood out were the owners, they were so sweet and checked up on us multiple times. I can tell this restaurant was their dream and they work very hard and it shows. It's not easy running a restaurant especially now. I hope everyone comes out to support them. Oscar Cafe is truly a hidden gem in Huntington Beach. Tucked away in an industrial area, this place has some amazing food. I have probably had chilaquiles 30 times in my life and these were by far the best! I got the red chilaquiles with pastor and over easy eggs. They were cooked perfectly and the flavor was off the charts. My buddy got the Chile Colorado plate. He said it was the best he ever had. It came with rice and beans and 5 corn tortillas. We both must have said "this is sooo good " 50 times while we ate our food. The gentleman that helped us was also very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!! read more

I brought him to Oscar Cafe for lunch on Friday. We have a top ten winner right here. Checkout the menu! This place offers an extensive selection of our favorite foods. My friend ordered the birria. I selected the pastor burrito. The burrito was crammed with all the good stuff, including big juicy, tender chunks of perfect pork. My friend did not speak until her had consumed every morsel of his lunch! My burrito came with a plate of perfect French fries!
