Lobster Tacos
Kaylee P.

I have high standards for Mexican food. I have had far too many standout, authentic dishes to love everything I try. And listen, I don't know how Ola's is as a whole because I have only ever gotten one thing each time I've been. But it knocks my socks off every time. Two words: Lobster. Tacos. Hey, if im by the beach and there's lobster on the menu it's gonna be on my plate. Classic restaurant service. Beautiful views of the ocean and great lighting. I'm a fan!

It was my first time at this place. Came here for dinner to celebrate my friend's birthday. Their chicken enchiladas and mocktails were good! Our waiter was attentive and nice. Highly recommended.

This is one of our favorite places to come to when visiting HB. We always come in and sit in the patio for happy hour. We have been doing this since it has opened. We find out yesterday the patio is not seating happy hour patrons and we would have to go to the inside bar. This has been this way for a while and was disappointing. We asked a couple of people that have been there for years and no one can give us a reason for the move. Last time we were here was in 2024. Anyway, that wasn't going to mess up the day. We sat in the inside bar and was able to enjoy some drinks and a couple of bites. We started with the margaritas and they were very good. Very refreshing! We ordered the chicken nachos and the chicken quesadilla. The food quality has always been consistent and good every time we visit. Chips and salsa are always a hit. We will just have to expect sitting inside instead. We will have to sacrifice the atmosphere for the food.

Great food and service. The lobster enchiladas can't be beat. Date night with fresh house made cocktails and a spectacular view. Dustin was a great server.

We went with a party of 6 on a Friday night around 8pm. The hostesses were very friendly and helpful and our server was very attentive and considerate. We tried the: Elote man corn Queso fundido Guacamole Carnitas taco Baja fish tacos Grilled fish taco Blackened shrimp taco Carne asada taco Everything was really delicious. I loved trying all the different tacos. Great ambiance- the view is incredible!

This spot might cost you an arm and a leg.. but I may consider it worth it. It's been a few years since my last visit to Ola, but the food and service here remains top tier. I visited late night with some girlfriends after catching a nearby DJ set at the Bungalow. We were ravenous and incredibly grateful to be sat instantly by the Ola team. Their servers were on top of it with drinks, apps, our meal, and even dessert. We ordered a round of guac and chips for the table, as well as their caramel filled churros to finish off the meal. For food I grabbed their taco trio, choosing the chicken, veggie, and chile relleno. The chile relleno still remains my favorite of the three! Would easily return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Easy to make reservations ahead of time or walk in for smaller parties. My friends and I were seated right away and our server was kind and welcoming. Honestly we had the best service! We started out with margs and chips/salsa and guac. The guac was good and so was the salsa but the chips were the best part. Warm too! I had the Punta Negra marg and it was delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy between the blackberries and jalapeños. I had two tacos, the chicken and carnitas. Both were good! The meat on both were pretty dry but the flavor was there. The tacos were fresh too with all their different toppings. Definitely made up a little bit for the dry meats. My husband had the fish burrito. He really enjoyed it. It was quite large so it's great to split with someone or take the other portion home with you.

I'm pretty upset about my first experience at Ola last night. The service and food were so good that I never got a chance to enjoy the ocean view. What an absolute waste of a perfectly good window seat. Seriously though. The moment I walked in, I met Maddie, who is hopefully my future daughter-in-law. No really. She's the kind of person you meet and immediately start wondering if your son is handsome, intelligent, and charming enough to have even a remote chance (Maddie, if you're reading this, he's tall, strong, handsome, and looks absolutely nothing like me). Heck, I'll even spring for the window seat i had! Maddie and Annabelle were wonderfully charming hosts who kept me entertained while I waited for the rest of my party to arrive. Then there was Dustin, our server. And Dustin, if you're reading this, I should mention that I also have a very lovely daughter. The man was so good at his job that my friend accidentally ordered the same drink twice because Dustin appeared before he realized he'd already placed the order. I haven't seen efficiency like that since Amazon figured out same-day delivery. I almost felt obligated to serve him instead. The place is so large and airy, I actually thought I was in Boca Raton- I'm just not used to being that comfortable at a restaurant in SoCal anymore. Maybe it was the phenomenal chips and salsa. Maybe it was the Red Bull. Maybe it was me mentally planning my son's future wedding. Whatever the reason, I was completely chillaxed. For starters, our table ordered the guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and the elote-style corn that Maddie and Annabelle enthusiastically recommended. I THINK it was excellent.... To be completely honest, I was so hungry that I mixed everything together into some kind of delicious Mexican food supergroup, so I can't fairly critique each dish individually. It was less "fine dining" and more "culinary mosh pit" in my mouth. BUT...... that entree.... the enchiladas con ribeye... that was Bieber and Billie Eilish at this year's Coachella. Every bite, I felt like "One Less Lonely Girl"..... and I'm a girldad. I eat ribeye steak at least once every week. None of them taste like this. You already know I'm coming back for this. SOON. Finally, one last shout out to GM Tommie (or was it Tommy.... sorry my spelling sucks... ask Maddie for the proper spelling), who kept checking in on us. I really, really enjoyed being here.

Nestled on top of Pacific City at Huntington Beach , Ola Mexican Kitchen is a solid Mexican Restaurant with great outdoor views, electric vibe and good Mexican food ! We got seated at the outdoor patio with great views. Our Server was awesome and made some good recommendations. They started us with complimentary chips and salsa which was very good ! Some of the best I've ever had. We then had Trio Tacos which were good, Guacamole was excellent too and Shrimp Ceviche also hit the spot. Wife loved Beet and Watermelon Salad. We also tried their Habanero Salsa which had a solid kick ! Overall - great experience at Ola !

We had a party of six and sat outside, overlooking the ocean. The weather was amazing and the view was beautiful! The waiter was attentive. The beet & watermelon salad was the star of the meal! The guacamole with orange zest & pomegranate seeds as well as the salsa were both excellent! The Huntington Beach location is located in an outdoor mall and we will definitely be visiting again. Parking garage is expensive but restaurant will validate up to two hours so bring your receipt/ticket. They definitely need more plant based/vegan options.

Was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious food and a place that makes homemade corn tortillas. The food was so good. I really wished I was able to eat more! The waiter was extremely nice and helpful with any questions we had. It was super busy as we were in there lunch rush. But based on how good their food was, it's probably their normal. For good Mexican food in the area I would recommend.

Food was overpriced and a little underwhelming. The chef's guac had an interesting flavor profile and was very fresh. My husband got enchiladas (not pictured) and I got the shrimp and fish tacos. The enchiladas were fine according to my husband, and the tacos were nothing to write home about - the shrimp wasn't grilled and the fish was dry. At least our server was super attentive and friendly!

We were looking for light lunch with a relaxing ambiance and this place was perfect. The hostesses were nice and sat us by the windows. The views were amazing because its on the second floor. We were served their delicate chips and salsa to start. We ordered their trio tacos and our favorites were carnitas, and Baja fish. The salmon taco was dry and over cooked. Its great the foundation drink keeps flowing.

Ask the Community - Ola Mexican Kitchen

Do they have chicken fajitas?

Just looked again at their menu, they do have rib eye steak fajitas. Never had them, as it is a bit pricy. But we have had other items that are delicious. It is worth going there. We like the one in Huntington Beach more then the Seal Beach…

Are there gluten-free options available?

Yes. Plenty of meat and vegetable options. Just tell them if you have Celiac so they can use different cooking utensils.

What is the parking situation here?

Plenty of underground parking. There's also a side parking but it's harder to find space specially weekends

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes they do!

Are bottomless mimosas served both on Saturday and Sunday?

No. Only Sunday:)

They were completely closed today when we went by. What's going on? Are they permanently closed?!

They've been closed for awhile since like late November, they say it's a temporary closure so hopefully they reopen sometime soon.

Is this restaurant dog friendly?

Yes, it's dog friendly only in patio.

For some reason I cant make Reservation online?

Usually you can make reservations online. Maybe something is wrong with the system.

Happy Hour on Tuesday still happening?

Unfortunately we do not have a bar area to host happy hour with outdoor only dining still in effect so we are not currently offering this special.

Do they allow outside wine? If so how much is the CorkageFee? Thanks

We do allow outside wine. There is a corkage fee of $18 per bottle.

Is this restaurant kid friendly?

Yes! I believe they had kid menus, and I saw children there during my visit.

If I came at 11 on Sunday would I be able to order off the regular menu or only brunch?

Only brunch until 2pm.

If you want two tacos, can you get two different types or do they have to be the same? Thanks.

They can be different.

Does this place have Happy hour?

Happy Hour....Yes They Have One....But Sadly, Still Not Worth The Price.

Are you dog friendly for patio seating? And - how about TV's for viewing sports games?

Unfortunately we do not meet the health department’s requirements to allow pets on our patio.

What's stroller parking? What happens if it's lost, stolen or damaged? New mom here and I have a pretty pricey Uppababy Vista stroller and I don't want anything to happen to it.

Just outside the front door entrance. If you love your stroller lock it up like you would at Disneyland.

Vegan options beside guacamole and salsa?

Salads

What is the recommended attire?

Dress casual

Next thing I look for is a welcoming, knowledgeable staff. We chose to sit at the bar, with Jason taking care of us. First thing I noticed was his genuine desire to get to know our preferences. It was slow, so after some chatting he was able to narrow us down to the exact drinks we were craving. The drink menu was exquisite, noticably favoring tequila, but had plenty of solid whiskey/gins/ vodkas. Jason went above and beyond to help me pick out some tequilas I'd never had, while my Dad tried a very unique mezcal negroni. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Chris, the GM, who recommended a pablono alfredo chicken pasta, and it didn't disappoint. We were only stopping by for drinks, wish we could have tried more of the menu! This is definitely a spot that will take a few visits to appreciate everything there is to offer. 10/10 on food, service, and vibes

VG Tacos & Even Cooler Atmosphere!…read more There are plenty of taco places in downtown Huntington Beach, but Sancho's stands out for something beyond the food -- the atmosphere! Sancho's recently moved from its original location farther back from PCH to a new spot closer to the action, formerly Angry Al's. I stopped in on Taco Tuesday and ordered three tacos: the Halibut , the OG steak, and the chicken. All three were solid, traditional street-style tacos with generous portions of meat. The OG was particularly good! And with 50% off on Taco Tuesday, the value is tough to beat. But what really sets Sancho's apart is the vibe. The owner has clearly invested some serious money and creativity into the artwork on the walls. There are some really cool, unique pieces that make the place feel more like an art gallery that happens to serve tacos. Dinner and an art show? Works for me! In my opinion, this is the coolest atmosphere of any taco spot in downtown HB. The staff was friendly and helpful, and if you peek out the windows, you even get a little ocean view. Not bad for a taco joint! There's also some exciting potential ahead. I hear they're working on getting a beer and wine license, and there's talk of possibly adding rooftop access with an elevator, which could make for some fantastic ocean views. Of course, that all depends on working things out with the city. I'm also looking forward to the owner's upcoming #Krazy Kooters concept nearby, which sounds like it could bring another fun option to the area, potentially with cocktails. Parking tip: You get 90 minutes of free parking in the large downtown parking structure. That's plenty of time to walk over to the 6th Street and PCH area, enjoy some tacos, check out the artwork, and stroll around before the meter starts running. A pretty good deal for downtown HB! I've heard good things about the owner, and I hope his continued investment in the area pays off. It's great seeing local businesses bring some personality and creativity to downtown. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
